Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ- Episode 15 (Blu-ray)

And yes, placing a single genre in Patlabor is doing it a disservice, the series is so diverse and covers a lot of ground from comedy to slice of life to drama, parody, 'spy-fi' (ugh such a weird word), almost anything you can think of really with an amazing cast of human characters all wrapped up in a world that has mechs, which for the most part are glorified construction and industrial equipment retrofitted for combat.

Also worth noting that The New Files and TV series are directed by Naoyuki Yoshinaga while Oshii directed the Early Days OVA and the first two films.

My mistake, I knew Yoshinaga directed it but for some reason I had it my head that Oshii had.

As both Lutga and yourself say, it's always portrayed as mecha show but it's actually a slice of life show with mecha in it.

Also if you haven't seen it worth checking out Super Mobile Legend Dinagiga, also directed by Yoshinaga, decent little OVA along the same lines as Patlabor.

Yeah, I was surprised to learn Oshii didn't direct the New Files as parts of it feel so similar to the first GITS movie in tone and feel, especially with the Kenji Kawai soundtrack.

Ambition of Oda Nobuna ep 1-2. More entertaining than I was expecting. Great to see someone actually put all that RPG trading knowledge to use.

Nadia: Secret of Blue Water ep 3-4.

Fate/stay night (2006): 1-15
Ugh... Is it normal that I just want to punch Shirou in the throat?

I thought of a fun drinking game:
1)Drink every time Shirou is being dense
2)Die from alcohol intoxication
3)??

Ep. 15 spoiler (well not really but I'd rather put unnecessary spoiler tags than the opposite) [spoilerbutton]Everquest called, they want their dragon back[/spoilerbutton]

Don't know about Shirou specifically, but I regularly want to punch male leads in the throat. Especially Tatsumi from Akame ga Kill, god he was stupid...

He is a lot better in the UBW anime but you will probably still end up hating him :( . (He is sooo good in the visual novel...)

Sailor Moon (Viz Media English Dub) - Episodes 17-20

Took a break yesterday to watch The Raid 2 and so I continued today! I have three more episodes left from Part 1 but so far I'm having a fun time watching it though I felt the latest episode was filler or out of place.

UPDATE: Just found out that Episodes 2, 5, 6 and 20 so far were not part of the old DIC English run so that's interesting.

Gangsta ep4

To my surprise, I think this series is actually better when it's taking its time and marinading in its own languid atmosphere. Also rather like how the elderly woman who runs the newspaper kiosk seems to be the only one with a view out across the city - everyone else is crammed into the claustrophobic alleyways and the backstreets.

Food Wars! (Japanese Dub) - Episode 16
Classroom☆Crisis (Japanese Dub) - Episode 04
Gate (Japanese Dub) - Episode 04
Okusama ga Seitokaichou! (Japanese Dub) - Uncensored Episode 04

Castle Town Dandelion - Episode 1

Not sure why I bothered watching this, I figured I'd try something different for a change. I needn't have bothered, it wasn't funny, none of the characters were engaging, the central dilemma is quite frankly stupid. I think we're supposed to find the King charming and endearing, but quite frankly he's just a terrible parent engaging in what almost certainly qualifies as child abuse.

I mean what kind of monster genuinely puts his own children against each other in a public competition before any of them have reached 18 for basically no reason?

Better than expected.
I haven't seen the DEEN anime for quite a while but when I read the fate route in the VN, I loved the climax a lot. (although the highlight of all the routes is the last few days)
