Well, episode 3 did indeed show the potential for it to step up several more levels. The amount of combustible emotion is very clear.

Asuka made a bold bid to take the lead in Best Girl race, but Reina gained some ground at the end and I can't wait to see what Natsuki is actually like. Club President needs to stand up for herself more though!

Asuka is definitely best IMO. There is just something about the name Asuka and being best girl...

Although I will say, I really like Kumiko too.

Kumiko is brilliant - she feels 'real' in a grumpy, non-committal teenage sort of way. There's still the standard anime teen angst there, but it's portrayed more realistically, mixed in with a fascinating dash of 'why should I bother?'

Asuka was definitely my favourite at the start, as she stole all the best lines, but I'm definitely team Reina now - she really comes into her own from ep 8 onwards.

Kumiko is kind of great in a very down to earth (like Lutga says, "real") way. Plus she gets special treatment with the screenshotable comic faces.

Dusk Maiden of Amnesia - eps 1 - 8

For some reason I always thought this show was going to be some straight up goth/horror type thing, maybe a bit like Another, perhaps. But instead it's much more of a romance show, in the vein of Sankarea. Pretty enjoyably done, and some clever visual/directorial stuff to keep it engaging. The characters and English VA is done well too - although it looks like it's going to play that classic card of 'You should look a little closer to home' and snubbing the best friend.

Imouto?!?

It can be tough being an Unlucky Childhood Friend fan, although I suppose having them not "win" means they're still free for the Yuri end so maybe it's worth it.

Her hair is even fluffier in the original light novel illustrations too:

Speaking of the light novels, I really hope they get translated into English,
mainly because they're even more yuri-licious than the anime:

Reina stared silently into Kumiko’s eyes, and before long she had softly slid her hands around Kumiko’s arm. The rolled up shirt cuffs exposed her smooth, white skin. It was arousing, but not in an obscene way. Kumiko averted her gaze. Sweat raced down her countenance and glazed her collarbones. With steamy red cheeks, Reina timidly felt Kumiko’s hand.

“Kumiko,”

was all she said as she suddenly embraced Kumiko. Kumiko became flustered as she felt a soft sensation through her clothes. Reina wrapped her hands tightly around Kumiko. Kumiko’s hands shook as she timidly put her own hands around Reina’s back.

“Kumiko,” she repeated. Hearing Reina say her name put Kumiko at a loss for words, so she just slowly caressed Reina’s back. She could feel Reina’s backbone through her uniform. As she did so, her fingers got stuck where Reina’s underwear was.

“Do you think I’m wrong?”

“I don’t think so.”
“For real?”
“Yeah.”
“I see,”

Fine then. After replying, she buried her face into Kumiko’s shoulder. Her long, silky hair flowed behind her. It seemed as if nothing could possibly shine a light on Reina.

They stayed like this for a while, but Reina eventually let go as if she had gotten her fill of Kumiko. Her cheeks were still red when she went over to the stairs and sat down.

“Hurry up, sit.”

Kumiko did as she was asked and sat down next to her. She had stepped on Reina’s skirt, but Reina did not seem to mind. Her soft-looking thighs peeked out from under her dark blue skirt.

“Hey umm, would you care to listen to what I have to say?”

I need this.

Paranoia Agent (Dub)-Episodes 1 and 2

Weird, a little creepy and borderline surreal in places. I expected nothing less from the director of Perfect Blue. I also love how cinematic it feels. You can really feel Satoshi Kon's fingerprints on this.

Triage X episode 10. (finished)
High School DxD BorN episode 10.
Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon episode 9.
Food Wars episodes 6-7.
