Knights of Sidonia - Episodes 1 - 4 (DUB)

Once you get past the dodgy 3D animation this show is actually really good. The dub is a bit hit and miss though, as some (mainly non-major) characters sound like the voice actor was reading straight from a script. There's also annoying unnatural pauses mid sentence.

DanMachi-Episode 8

Great fight sequence in this episode, really liked it. It gave some good development to Bell too. I am still a little confused as to what the villain is up to though. What did she mean the box has been opened? I don't remember anyone opening a box

Hello!! Kiniro Mosaic-Episode 8

Gintama-Episode 72

I'm ok with this.

Busuo Skinki - Episodes 11 & 12 [Final]

Not quite what I expected based on the original trailers that I saw and I just found the whole series a bit strange and it wasn't really my thing at all.

Wakfu: Season 1 Episodes 13-26

Wakfu: Episode 27 Noximilien the Clockmaker

Mini Wakfu: Episodes 1-27

While my avatar probably makes plain the high regard I hold Wakfu in, it's not really an anime in the sense it's understood on AUKN (being, y'know, created and animated in France rather than Japan).

I didn't know who your avatar was until I started watching Wakfu, shows how much I knew about it lol. And I know it wasn't made in Japan but (to me at least) anime is anime regardless of which country created it.

A chat about it over in the media section might be an idea though, since most people seem to have their Kickstarter blu-rays now. And I will say that anybody who liked Slayers (or even anyone who liked the concept of Slayers but was disappointed by it) should really watch Wakfu.

After watching season 1 I'll admit I'm enjoying it alot more than I thought I would. And if anyone wanted to create a thread to chat about it I woundn't be against it.

Plastic Memories 8

Something's been bugging me, aside from Tsukasa clearly not having watched that "Don't Date Robots" educational video: Has the exact issue that causes Giftias to have the 81,920 hour life-span ever actually been stated?

Because I’m wondering why no one has mentioned the possibility of backing up a Giftia’s personality and memories, before integrating them into a new, blank operation system when the original’s lifespan is coming to an end, or another similar technical workaround?

If the issue isn’t with the operating system but the personality/memory data itself, then what is it? A storage method that crashes once its capacity is reached? The corruption of data over time?

I think all we’ve been told is that the issue isn’t hardware based (due to the option of having a new OS installed into the shells of retrieved Giftias) but like…come on.

My Teenage Romcom SNAFU TOO 8

Absolutely superb.

This season has stepped it up in every way from the already excellent first. It's a real gem.
Finally, someone else still talking about the best show of the last couple of years. The hand motions and wordplay during the brainstorming over the previous couple of weeks just killed me on a really basic comedy level, and contrasting that with the catharsis in this episode just sums up why this series is a cut above anything else that people might mistakenly think is its equal.

Baby Steps s2 ep8.

Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works s4 ep8. So basically, this whole storyline is about Shiro being a naive fool in the present and feeling sorry for himself in the future. Fate/Zero was so much better than this.

High School DxD: BorN s3 ep7. I'm thinking this should have ended after season two. It's wearing really thin now because nothing has really changed since the first season, they just get some new baddies to fight every so often (interspersed with boobs) but the group dynamic of the main characters never really changes. In other words, it's predictable.

Plastic Memories ep8. This episode briefly reverted back to the style of the first few episodes that had us all feeling slightly optimistic about the series, and then went back to generic romcom nonsense again. And yes, the practical reasons behind the shows premise (i.e. the 'lifespan' of an A.I.) clearly has no real thought behind it. If there is a real reason for it all then I would assume it's either that the programming becomes overwhelmed by new memories after a few years (like the Doctor in Star Trek Voyager) which raises all kinds of questions, or it's a restriction created by the manufacturer to force customers to buy new Giftias on a regular basis. Seriously, even the Halo games have handled this subject better.

Sound! Euphonium ep7.

The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan ep8. Obligatory fanservice episode. Ever wanted to see Haruhi nude? Nope, me neither. Get back to the storyline please (such as it is).

The Heroic Legend of Arslan ep8.

Well, in theory, if the Giftia stores everything it perceives as 'memories' then possibly it just becomes so clogged with data that it stops functioning properly. Or in other worse, the sheer number of inputs acting on each process slows/hinders the systems ability to actually output an appropriate response. It's like washing dishes, if you only have a few plates (memories) to work through, you are finished the job relatively quickly but if you have an entire stack, you're going to be there a lot longer before you can 'finish'.

The moment the berserker mode was engaged though, I thought it was pretty obvious that they didn't really know what they wanted to write or how they actually wanted to write the story.

If it's a memory capacity issue, then couldn't a simple resolution be to increase a Giftia's storage capacity? Maybe they have USB ports to insert thumb drives...

Shiki (Dub)-Episode 1-6

I'm liking this so far but the pace has been too slow IMO. The first episode set things up, that was fine. Then 2-5 seemed to consist of scenes of people dying, scenes of the doctors trying and failing to figure out why people are dying, people grieving over people who have died and Yuuki not doing a lot. Episode 6 seems to picking up the pace a little, with Ozaki finally figuring out it's vampires. As I said, I do like the show. It looks quite nice and I like the character designs and the characters themselves are varied and somewhat interesting (Although some development wouldn't go amiss, granted it's only 6 episodes in). It is building towards something, but just a little slowly. Hopefully things pick up a little more now.
