Finally, someone else still talking about the best show of the last couple of years. The hand motions and wordplay during the brainstorming over the previous couple of weeks just killed me on a really basic comedy level, and contrasting that with the catharsis in this episode just sums up why this series is a cut above anything else that people might mistakenly think is its equal.Ath said:My Teenage Romcom SNAFU TOO 8
Absolutely superb.
This season has stepped it up in every way from the already excellent first. It's a real gem.

Or in other worse, the sheer number of inputs acting on each process slows/hinders the systems ability to actually output an appropriate response. It's like washing dishes, if you only have a few plates (memories) to work through, you are finished the job relatively quickly but if you have an entire stack, you're going to be there a lot longer before you can 'finish'.Joshawott said:Plastic Memories 8
Something's been bugging me, aside from Tsukasa clearly not having watched that "Don't Date Robots" educational video: Has the exact issue that causes Giftias to have the 81,920 hour life-span ever actually been stated?
Because I’m wondering why no one has mentioned the possibility of backing up a Giftia’s personality and memories, before integrating them into a new, blank operation system when the original’s lifespan is coming to an end, or another similar technical workaround?
If the issue isn’t with the operating system but the personality/memory data itself, then what is it? A storage method that crashes once its capacity is reached? The corruption of data over time?
I think all we’ve been told is that the issue isn’t hardware based (due to the option of having a new OS installed into the shells of retrieved Giftias) but like…come on.
The moment the berserker mode was engaged though, I thought it was pretty obvious that they didn't really know what they wanted to write or how they actually wanted to write the story.

I'm liking this so far but the pace has been too slow IMO. The first episode set things up, that was fine. Then 2-5 seemed to consist of scenes of people dying, scenes of the doctors trying and failing to figure out why people are dying, people grieving over people who have died and Yuuki not doing a lot. Episode 6 seems to picking up the pace a little, with Ozaki finally figuring out it's vampires. As I said, I do like the show. It looks quite nice and I like the character designs and the characters themselves are varied and somewhat interesting (Although some development wouldn't go amiss, granted it's only 6 episodes in). It is building towards something, but just a little slowly. Hopefully things pick up a little more now.
