Gintama-Episodes 11-13

Quick question for anyone who has seen this show before. Does the original series ever go widescreen? I was actually surprised when I found out that Gintama wasn't widescreen as I thought that by 2006, when the show aired, widescreen was the norm but I guess not. Considering that by the time show ended in 2010, widescreen was definitely dominant, does the show actually change aspect ratio at any point?

Monogatari Second Season (Nekomonogatari: Shiro)-Episode 2

Sound! Euphonium-Episode 3

I don't know why but that Tubacabra line slayed me.

The second season as far as I'm aware is when the widescreen change occurs (Episode 202 I think).

Wow, I'm actually pretty surprised it took that long.

Naruto Shippuden didn't go widescreen until April 2008, so quite a late one there too.

Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040: Episodes 9-12

Highlight was whenLinna decides to reject her male suitor and runs back to Tokyo help out Priss. I do love a bit of subtext.

Sound Euphonium - ep3

Oh man, this just totally upped the game this episode, like into properly amazing territory. Now there's a bit of jeopardy there, and we can see the tension at work. I love how the teacher was kind of quite menacing, harsh in his approach, but without ever raising his voice.

Also, how good was it to hear the Dvorak piece From The New World? Nice little inter-anime reference there, even if it was unintentional.

Macross 7 - ep1

That was sillier than I'd expected, but also kind of bouncy and endearing. Perhaps not surprisingly, I think the music is the best thing about it so far, although for some reason Fire Bomber just make me think 'Rush in space'...
