I'd say that I'd give it a go myself but I don't think I could handle incomplete stories as well as you mate. Especially if it happens to be a good story too.

OT. I've watched the first 7 episodes of Valkyria Chronciles. Enjoying it so far. ^__^

Finally got round to the first episode of House of Five Leaves and I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting to. he character art is a bit ugly (kind of like a roughed up version of Ristorante Paradiso), but it does grow on you after a while and the background art is excellent. The story shows some promise too; the main characters all seem to have been set up without any awkward exposition and the lead seems quite likeable.

I'll give it three episodes anyway.

Watched the third (and sadly final) episode of Cyber City Oedo. It's quite good in its own right, but it's almost worth watching purely so as you can say you've seen a show in which a heroic transvestite fights a teleporting psychic vampire. In space.

Sadly neither party was on fire at the time.

I can still watch to the end of the Juuni Kokki anime anyway^^

Speaking of endings, I still have to read the rest of 3x3 Eyes scanlations and see if that went anywhere...

God Bless Yoshiaki Kawajiri.

Najica: Blitz Tactics ep. 1 & 2
I was considering devising a game involving drinking a shot for every pair of panties that appear in this show. Then it soon became clear that alcohol poisoning would be a real hazard. It's a shame for me that pandering to mild fetishes gets in the way of what seems to be a serviceable story, but hey-ho.

6/10 but won't be continuing it.

Mouse ep. 1 & 2
It opens with a building being stolen. A whole building. Sliding gracefully into the ground. The rest of the two (mercifully short) episodes make about as much sense, and also feature harem-fanservice goings-on. There's even a nipple somewhere.

4/10 and I'm never admitting to watching this outside of anime forums.

Eureka Seven ep. 1 - 5
"Cut-back drop-turn!" Parts of this I find goofy or over-the-top (Robots... on air-boards?) and some of the humour makes me cringe a little. It maybe seems a little slow but it is a 50 episode series. Bones are involved, so the animation and art are excellent (some minor similarities to their Rahxephon series, inevitable I suppose). A solid start.

8/10 so will continue it but not as a priority.

Xam'd: Lost Memories ep. 1 - 5
More from Bones, charting the life of a school-kid who is infected with a potentially fatal condition that involves the risk of transforming into an "Xam'd". Visually it reminds me of Laputa: Castle in the Sky crossed with some other Ghibli stuff (and in the fantasy / sci-fi setting). The characters and their relationships seem to be handled better than in Bones' Rahxephon and perhaps Eureka Seven as well. May be at least a year or two before it gets a UK release, if ever, which is a shame (R1 release is in the works, I read).

9/10 - am genuinely excited about this, which is fairly uncommon.

Edited to clarify something in the Eureka Seven comment.

One of the best series i've watched in years i will say. And i agree, it's unfortunate that it won't be released here for a good while yet, specially as it only has had a DVD release in japan. I'm also guilty of having put it on hold for exams, i'm up to 14 so far. All i can say is, you won't be disappointed with it(from what i've seen)

Baccano! ep. 1 - 3
I never realised this was being streamed region-free by Funimation! After a possibly confusing first episode, it's settling down into a real treat. The (good) dub is welcome here as the New York setting really doesn't lend itself to a Japanese language track. Given the number of (great, if somewhat exaggerated) characters I'm liking the fact they're all named in the intro to each episode.

9/10 - it has a wonderful playfulness to it.

Xam'd finished its (9 disc!) Blu-ray run in Japan in March so maybe due a DVD US release soon? Am trying to avoid watching it all prior to a US/UK physical release. It makes me want to rewatch Laputa again!
