Finally started watching stuff again after my exams preventing me.

Bakemonogatari 6-7 - Really adore this series, wonderous to watch. If this show was done by anyone else bar SHAFT, then i could see it not working, but their animation style fits perfectly with Nisoisins script. Personally can't wait to watch the next episode.

K-ON! 1-2 - So with many people saying this was great and such, i thought i'd jump in and see what's so special about it. And so far, i can't see it. I liked it, but i'm not adoring it. Admittedly, 2 episodes may not be enough, but we'll see regardless.

Aside from all the weekly stuff that's currently airing I'm catching up on Reborn again. Latest I watched was 115, and I will probably watch some more later. I really love this Future arc.

Baccano! ep. 4 - 6
They took the dub down so now it's subs only. Just as well it's still excellent, bar one or two minor animation issues, and the larger-then-life characters are growing on me. The patchwork story-/time-line isn't as confusing as I thought it might be.

9/10 - mafia + supernatural = win. So far.

Ichiban ep 7

ummmm what happened to the series, it was going so well till this episode

thankfully Korone came and saved the episode

Man, they actuality make [that character] useful and everyone thinks we've gone into Death Note part two...

I still like it, it's still insane and Gurren Laggan animation can only help the insanity.
That and I totally get the word pun going down with [his] alter ego.

I'd start worrying when he goes Suzaku on everyone.

As long as it's not glorified, then, to quote Mills Lane from Celebirty Deathmatch, "I'll allow it!"

And besides, it was about time [he] became relevant.

Edit; and I love it when a show goes sketchbook like it does in this episode.

Dual: Parallel Trouble Adventure 1-5.5 (ish)

Another painfully unfunny waste of time harem comedy from Tenchi's Masaki Kajishima. It's all here: the bland lead, a bunch of attractive women, and an uncomfortable mish-mash of genres.

This show seems to get away with a lot by virtue of ripping off Evangelion and not trying to pretend otherwise. The plot has something to do with a parallel world and giant robots but since it didn't seem very important I didn't pay much attention.

Dual's problems are too numerous to mention, but foremost amongst my complaints is that the show doesn't seem to know what it wants to be and ends up half-arsing all of it. That the characterization is paper thin does not help matters.

If only there were a parallel world where Dual and Kajishima didn't exist. I'd live there.

Right. I actually have free time now. So I've gone on a bit of a marathon of all the anime I wanted to catch up on.

Baccano eps 9-12
Kimi Ni Todoke 16
K-on Season 2 ep 1
Angel Beats ep 1

Baccano has been simply supurb. I don't know if the last 3 eps can match up to the rest of the series but here's hoping. K-On seems to be much improved in the art department but it needs more Mugi. And Angel Beats is...Interesting. Not 100% sure what's going on but the premise has me interested.

My thoughts exactly, am almost worried it will have a typically-flawed anime ending.

Baccano! ep. 7 - 12
This is an incredibly enjoyable series, Isaac and Miria being an excellent comic duo.

9/10 - am wishing this was longer than 16 episodes now.

Kanokon ep. 1
I watched this because it was streaming free on the Media Blasters site. I should've taken heed of the fact it was just below Queen's Blade and Ikki Tousen. This is pretty much everything I dislike about anime. Fox-girl, fanservice, ecchi... ugh. I won't be viewing any more to find out if it gets better.

3/10 - no real redeeming features in my eyes.

Edit: formatting craziness.

Just finished the first episode of Armored Trooper Votoms: The Pailsen Files and it's off to a very promising start. The episode centres on a dramatic D-day style beach landing, from which only the oddly-monickered protagonist, Chirico, emerges without serious injury.

The CG isn't eye-popping, but there's been a real effort here to make it blend in with the traditional animation around it, and the overall look is quite pleasing. It's faithful to the original series, but crisp and modern at the same time.

I think I'll definitely be sticking with this one. If nothing else, I'll be interested to see what direction the story's going to take. From what I've seen of the original, the story was driven mainly by Chirco's actions alone, but Pailsen Files thus far suggests to me that it might be a more squad-based series, more in the style of Gundam. Either way, I'd already recommend it.

Bleach 271

That was one of the coolest Bleach episodes ever.

Ichigo finally done something cool.

I would definately agree, truly epic!
Argh, I may have to start watching Bleach again! Must... resist...

Baccano! ep. 13 & 14
I thought episode 13 seemed suspiciously like a final episode, and it was! But there are still two of the OVAs left for me to watch now. I don't think I've seen a show that can cut between comedy and what is pretty graphic violence so successfully. I'm left with a slight nagging feeling that the deliberately confused timeline may be adding a false sense of complexity to the plot, but when it's this good I don't really mind.

9/10 - win.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya ep. 1
It's become fairly clear I'm going to need to watch more than one episode of this before commenting much further on it. Interesting choice of first episode, although I understand it isn't the first chronologically, and I chuckled on occasion.

7/10 - I've rated it anyway, may continue with it.
