G Gundam is a fantastic series, yes it gets off to a very generic fight of the week start but it develops into such a deep and at times dark show. It is a proper Gundam show and everything one should be make no mistake.

Eh, fair enough. I've actually been getting through it much quicker than I thought I might do, so I'm sure I could stick with it for a bit yet.

I have been struggling to watch stuff this weekend due to PS3.

But I did slip these in:

Fate/Zero 9

Yet another dose of awesome. Though not much happened this time aside from some good character development for Lancer and Waver/Rider. I am not sure why Lancer seems to be unable to resist the girls who keep throwing themselves on him (I think I'd go off girls in general quite quickly in his position, poor chap) but it adds an interesting side to things. The Caster storyline seems to be moving along swiftly so hopefully he'll make another appearance soon. The series needs more Gilgamesh as well.

House of Five Leaves 1-3

This is cool. The subtitles seem fine so far, though my disc started up automatically with the German menus. I blame VLC for that, though. It's less slow paced so far than everyone (including the back of the packaging) seemed to need to impress on newcomers. So far I like the grumpy Umezou the best.

OreImo 1-5

I finally started OreImo at last. It's gone down well with my other half so hopefully we'll breeze through it swiftly and I won't keep having to hide from spoilers. So far I hate Ayase, and adore Saori, Kuroneko and the siblings' dad. I was expecting to go against popular opinion here and like Kirino because she's cute, but she ended up annoying me quite quickly by being a realistically dumb young girl ^^;

I loved the epic speech Kyousuke gave his father when he said all of the R-18 games were his, even though I just checked and that was one of the parts fabricatedlunatic singled out as being weak. Maybe I am a sucker for absurd, manly melodrama.

Don't worry, you just have better taste than certain Fabulous posters around here. It is one of my favorite scenes, the only scene I "definitely" like over it is Kirino and Kuroneko's first big argument in the McDonalds.

Those with less refined tastes do tend to lap up melodrama. It's okay chap and chapess; it's not your fault.

Ayase is a bit judgemental but she also gets a pass for being cute. And I love her reactions to being shown... dubious things.

I'm probably not in a position to argue the point that my tastes may not be terrifically refined...

OreImo episode 4 spoilers for those not keeping track.

But she isn't cute ;_;

Her first big scene in episode 4 almost moved me to tears, when she causes the bag to rip and all of those precious books fall onto the ground in the rain. My heart almost broke right there. And then she made matters worse by opening one of the books and reading it, still in the rain! I don't think I can ever forgive a person like that for her crimes against art, even if she becomes less of a cow later on. It was weird of Kirino not to dive on them to protect them too. Ahh, I don't understand some people at all!

:-O

How is this not cute!?

Hmm, perhaps because I am more of an S than an M. Bossy girls are more irritating than cute. Especially bossy girls who damage precious doujin goods!

Or maybe I'm just grouchy she is prejudiced against honest perverts.

I wonder if our Ayase is doing a double take every time and thinking we have genderswapped him in order to hotly debate his cuteness.

You know, the most worrying thing is that I'm not sure if I was joking or not with that picture ^_^;

Okay, I concede that wasn't a terribly cute thing to do, but let's remember Ayase is only written as such a bitchy character so that Nii-san can save the day in typically melodramatic fashion. It's not her fault ;_;

Oh, and our ayase is much cuter, no question.

I agree that ours is the cutest. And not just because I can't stand the female one.

You utter bastards. I have no choice but to watch OreImo now.

I am pleased to hear you say that.

Also show me dubious things, I like the sound of that.

I think the old vs new thread is headed that way, if you want to join the fanservice fray...
