Ameku M.D: Doctor Detective Episodes 3-5. Really enjoying this series, so much so that I've already changed my avatar of Maomao from Apothecary Diaries which I just posted up reecently. I'm loving that we're getting two good mystery/detective shows in the same season!

The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor Episodes 5-10. Going back to last season to complete some of those series.

Shangri-La Frontier Season 2 episode 42 Unique scenario.

Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun Season 2 episode 4 Festival fun.

Dragon Quest: Legend of the Hero Abel episodes 22-37

MAL says it's also an isekai. 2004, so the very tail end of the traditional isekai shows that were mostly shoujo with female leads rather than the switch to mostly male lead power fantasies later in the decade. Most traditional MGS are in a modern setting aren't they?
It's by Studio 4°C which have a good record of nice looking stuff and also 40 episodes long, but 9 minutes each!?
The episodes are linked together in a way so they seem like the commercial breaks in regular series. The series has a rather dark aura to it kind of like Madoka and has both witches and warlocks in it. You can get it here-Tweeny Witches Complete Book of Spells

Red Baron - Episodes 44 - 47

I'm looking forward to seeing how the series finishes after this run of episodes.

Macross: Do You Remember Love (1984 Theatrical Version)

I managed to get a chance to watch the 4k set yesterday morning. I love this film and it looked lovely in 4k. I'd seen a number of comments about how certain sections of the film looked soft in the cinema, but I thought those sections didn't look too bad on my TV, maybe the magnification onto a cinema screen showed them up more (I had a similar experience with the Akira 4k screening years ago). As soon as the scene of the Macross coming out of the darkness starting playing I knew I was in for a treat. The detail and clarity in the scenes on the Macross and during battles was truly stunning. Very happy with it.

Princess Knight (dub) eps 1 & 2
For the simulwatch.

Kaiju No. 8 (dub) eps 2-6
Audition, training and first mission.
Pretty easy watch. The main character isn't your typical shounen protag. He's 32, not a total loser, but certainly not cut out for the action hero role, although his previous job gives him a very particular set of skills, but equally he's the most powerful person on the team in his Kaiju form, but doesn't rely on that power and works hard on his human form to try and keep up with his younger colleagues.

The Irregular at Magic High School
The Movie
Well that was exciting.
I ended up watching it in one sitting.

Dr Stone S1
Episodes 1+2
I'll give it a few more episodes but if I hear the words Big Oaf again 💥
Maybe I should be avoiding Shounen.

Welcome, brother, to the anti-Shounen faction, lol. ;) For the life of me I cannot comprehend how the genre can possibly be so popular; I find the vast majority of Shounen titles very, um, undesirable, and I avidly avoid them as if they do not exist in the anime world. Dragonball Z, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Fairy Tale, Hunter x Hunter, Gintama, Assasination Classroom, My Hero Acedamia, Black Clover, Demon Slayer, Chainsaw Man, Dr Stone, Jujutsu Kaisen, Jojo, Bobobo, Kaiju no. 8, Haikyuu, Yu Yu hakusho, Fist of the North Star, on and on - nope, nope, nope, nope, nope... 😖

Of course, there are some exceptions to the rule; Shounen titles I do like are mainly those that maybe don't fit into the mold of the titles above - Death Note, Rurouni Kenshin, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Attack on Titan, Samurai Champloo, City Hunter, Cats Eye, Rosario Vampire, Call of the Night, Spy x Family, Magi Kingdom of Magic, Moriarty the Patriot, Your Lie in April, Noragami...

I at least found it entertaining to go through a few Top 100 Shonen Anime lists online to pick out and list all these... 🙂

Dragon Quest: Legend of the Hero Abel episodes 38-43 (Complete. A decent fantasy outing - I’m curious to see how the next adaptations pan out as an anime-only watcher.) 3/5

Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms Episode 5

Kaiju No. 8 (dub) eps 7-12 (complete)
Second mission and another test.
Got a bit more shounen-y with more action and a couple of fights where one of the characters shouted out his attack moves during it, but overall quite enjoyable.
The art and animation were also quite good, although sometimes the characters seemed to go a bit off model.
7/10

A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School! episode 17 Beach and bonding.

Flower and Asura episode 5 Recitation read.

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai episodes 8-18, Dragon Quest Great Adventure of Dai! Disciple of Aban (Film), 19-20

I stopped Death Note and Samurai Champloo at around ep3. Just got bored.
With City Hunter S1, I'm stuck at ep9 and I bought it from Rightstuf!
Only one I'd say I love is Moriarty.

Dr Stone S1
Episode 3
I'll try to get to 5 before deciding it's future.

The Irregular at Magic High School S3
Episodes 1-2
Figured these would be setting up the plot, wanted them watched so when I next visit I'm into it.
Nice ending to ep2. I could tell that Godsuya wasn't happy by the expression on his face. Can't wait.
