Ghost Cat Anzu (Japanese) - Movie (Complete)

This was a fun, quirky movie with a nice art style. Had quite a lot of funny moments involving Anzu the talking ghost cat as well as some heartfelt scenes later on, will pick it up sometime when it eventually releases.

Lensman is good fun and I'm enjoying it alot. Bits of it regularly remind me of Ulysses 31 despite none of the creative staff being common between the two series. I also find it quite amusing that the producers are still trying to use the janky CGI from movie in the opening credits.

Galaxy Express 999 episodes 1-5: Well, this was a lot more bleak than I was expecting. By the halfway point of episode 1, Tetsuro has seen his mother shot by "human hunters" who plan to mount her on the wall of their manor, and left for dead in a snowy wilderness. Episodes 2 and 4 (and 6 from the preview) are set in graveyards. I was expecting a jolly adventure travelling through the galaxy meeting new and interesting people, but everyone we meet (most of whom die) is sunk in a slough of despond at the ruinous state of their lives. There are moments of humour and the story is definitely interesting on a philosophical level, as well as for the mystery surrounding his travelling companion.
