Chapter 2, Page 4:

Insert coffee advert here! It's a little simplistic with the shading and background perhaps, but I'm still pleased with how it flows.

Great page as usual Wild. :thumb:

I like going back and reading threw all the pages in one go. It's really coming together tho it reminds me why I don't like reading uncompleted manga.... I always want to know what happens next. T_T

The combination of slow releases and slow pacing isn't working in my favour admittedly. 3/4 panels of story every week or two I imagine is pretty irritating for anyone trying to follow the story - wish I could manage one a day but it's just not possible for me sadly :(

I'm getting gradually quicker and more efficient, so perhaps someday I'll reach a vaguely proffessional standard in terms of artwork quality and speed.

Cheers for reading as always anyhow!

not only ten pages a a day, but he also pulled several 7 days work weeks in a row or so I've heard =P
He truly deserves the God o manga title after all. but if you get 10 pages a week it should be good enough. regular mangaka have 20 pages a week, but they have some people helping out.

This may be slightly abrupt, but unfortunately I'm going to have to abandon my comic. I've thought about it a lot recently, and with the work I'm doing this year I need to prioritise. Bluntly: I just won't have the time.

It's a shame but I guess it was an experiment anyway :( Perhaps in a year or two when I've got more time I'll try again with a new one. Thanks to those who read and commented, sorry about the sudden end.

OMG! Where am I going to getr my Wildcard Comix Fix?

Nah mate, I know exactly what you mean. It takes a hella lot of time and effort to do this. With what's going on with jobs and general money situations I understand like.

I'm the opposite, I'm working loads at the moment but trying to get my Tablet so I can draw to relax. It such an effort like... plus, Tablets aren't cheap. Been saving for months (got £600 so far).

Does this mean you'll be leaving the forums also?

I'll still be on the forums, I can manage that at least :)

I may have over-reacted before, but I won't be able to manage the current comic with my situation. I'm thinking that I may start another but this time set my aims lower. Something with a simpler art style that only does a one shot story. I'll see in the near future.

Okay - I've been really indecisive over the last day or so about what to do with my comic. However, I think it's fair to say I was far too ambitious for a first time effort. I don't have the time, planning or artistic skill for an epic - so I'll try something simple instead.

Below, is the cover intended for my one shot comic idea A Girl Called Hate. The artwork will be black and white, which is a little basic but will make releases far quicker, and at a guess I'd say it will run for around 30 pages. All being well I can finish it in a few months. I figure this is the best compromise I can make under my work circumstances.

We will miss your art mate.

Apologies in advance if my choice of words are not very good. It makes perfect sense as a compliment and that's based on my interpretation of what you did.

I think the raw / crude art style you used on those pages gives it an ambience that send me back to tarantino's raw crude camera work - I like that style very much when used well and I think you did. That only adds to your work. the backgrounds you used were always very good and well chosen. External backgrounds (the city, roof tops, etc) were really good. I think you could do with a more attractive female character though.

Story wise, well, the it ended before we know anything. You kept it interesting enough for me to come back and check whenever you posted something, but I believe you could do if the story moved a bit faster. (maybe that's just my anxiety though)

Cheers chaos, I'm sorry I couldn't take the original comic any further. Just to clarify I will still be posting, it will just be slightly more humble efforts I'm afraid :(

The story never really got going, I had one planned out but I doubt I'd ever realise it all with the time I have. I'm starting from scratch with the one shot project shown above because I feel I have to be realistic about what I can achieve. If i can make a short self contained comic with a plot that has an end then I'll probably learn more. I will do an epic some day, but I can see it being years before I have the time.

I liked what you said about it being Tarantino-esque (I am a fan). You do have a point about the female characters not being particularly attractive, though I wasn't really aiming to make them stunning, the rest is down to my limited drawing abilities. Anyhow, my future black and white efforts will probably seem like a step backwards, but I may be able to release at a respectable rate and get an engaging story going this time. We'll see.

That's the plan-

I tried making a page anyway, and it's a hell of a lot quicker doing it this way - even if the results aren't as impressive I can get a reasonable pace going this way.

It's like you never stopped lol.

Loving the first fram on that page. Tales me forever to do angles like that coz everything always ends up loking all wierd. You, on the other hand have done it without it damaging my brain.

Very Nice :thumb:

Thanks :) It took a few sketches to get that top frame right, glad it looked ok in the end.

Page 2:

This is quite a chatty page, has more text than I'd usually include. Some of the drawings went very wrong unfortunately, though with luck I'll get to grips with stuff in the next page or two.

More as soon as I have the time.
