I just gave Geordie Greep's first solo single "Holy, Holy" a listen that he released not long after announcing Black Midi's indefinite hiatus as a band.

Overall, I'm really glad to hear that even without Morgan and Cameron's involvement that his special blend of unique vocal style, absurdist lyrics and underlying social commentary still assaults my senses in the best ways. And while the more ecclectic instrumentation and outstanding drumwork of Black Midi is gone, elements of it clearly still persevere in this new music, and has in a way even expanded to a wider range of genre influences. (Needless to say when I found out the album was available to pre-order I secured a CD immediately.)
