Got lucky with my first Anime Limited Christmas order shipping relatively quickly for Xmas standards, which arrived today. I managed to pick up my main pre-sale targets:
Demon Slayer: Season 1 and the standard
Black Lagoon sets.
A couple of bonus pick ups from the stocking filler were
Amagami SS and
Amagami SS+. I remember watching this series when I was a teenager, I also seem to remember that it was a visual novel originally. They were cheap, so it'll be nice to revisit this show.
Then, onto the big boys. A little emergency drop from Crunchyroll US via Stackry:
Suicide Club: been eyeing this up for a while. I believe Third Window Films were going to release this film on Blu-ray in the UK, but seemingly plans fell through for whatever reason. Hence, I picked up the Discotek release.
Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin: this is another series I remember watching as a teenager, and which will fit nicely into my 2000s/2010s era collection (which is basically just a collection of shows I watched as an angsty teenager). I do remember it being pretty dark and brutal.
Digimon The Movies: Collection 1: then onto what is probably my release of the year (for me, personally): Discotek's release of the first three Digimon movies. For the first time in the West, in their original separate film structure, remastered and unedited; with Japanese audio/English subtitles, and a brand new English dub with as many of the original cast as possible, and Japanese soundtrack.
This release also includes the original, edited English dub version (which has also been remastered in HD for the first time) that stitched together all three films into one, and it retains the original English soundtrack of the film. As a result, we still get to enjoy bangers like these:
Unfortunately, no Angela Anaconda before the film due to licencing issues, but still. This is how you do a release and please the fans.
