2024 HAUL - NOVEMBER CHAPTER: BATCH #4

A few more items to round up the month of November. A lot of items this month but December is expected to be bigger. These items arrived on Thursday, Friday & Saturday respectively.

PS5 Haul 8 - Alan Wake II.jpg

Last year Remedy released their anticipated game Alan Wake II and it was digital only. They said they weren't going to provide a physical for various reasons, but fan demand must have done enough for them to finally put out a physical version which came out last October. I'm happy to own this but my plan is to revisit Alan Wake via the remaster and then play Control before jumping into this one which is more of a survival horror than twin peaks horror.

Godzilla Minus One - 39.jpg

The 33rd Godzilla film from TOHO has landed onto UK home video! Godzilla Minus One is a really good film from the director that brought us Dragon Quest: Your Story and Lupin the Third: The First and many others. This deluxe edition set mirrors the Japanese release which the North American version also did but we have the bonus Blu-ray disc subtitled and all of it is there (the only difference are the Trailer Collection which is smaller than the Japanese version).

You can view more photos & specs on my blog.

Switch Haul 18 - Marvel vs Capcom and Signalis.jpg

The final items for the month of November are two Nintendo Switch games ordered from VideoGamesPlus.

First up we have a very anticipated collection that just got released physically (its digital version came out last September) and that's Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection Arcade Classics. This collection includes the 1993 beat em up The Punisher released for the Arcades & SEGA Mega Drive, and various fighting games that came out for Arcade, SEGA Saturn and PlayStation; 1994's X-Men: Children of the Atom, 1995's Marvel Super Heroes, 1996's X-Men vs. Street Fighter, 1997's Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, plus the iconic crossover games released for Arcade, SEGA Dreamcast and PlayStation 1 (former) & 2 (latter) with 1998's Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, and 2000's Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes.

Also picked up is a survival horror cyberpunk type game called SIGNALIS, which I heard was really good and I know HEALTH produced a music video for Don't Try with footage from this game. While the PlayStation 4 version is the better console version to get due to framerate, I felt the game would be more suited for Nintendo Switch. The game did receive a physical release in Europe but its first print had become harder to find or more expensive, whereas VGP did a new print run for cheaper.

I received the Berserk steelbook from Crunchyroll US today. It has a clear plastic slipcover with printed back like the Parasyte steelbook I posted above. I already own the UK steelbook and the Collector's Edition set, and the US standard release, so I bascically only got this as an addition to my anime steelbook collection.

My soft soft plushy soft winter bloomers arrived and they are sooo comfy and nice to touch, I absolutely love them! Unfortunately the dress was way too small - the size chart on the product page clearly stated the bust on the 4XL which I ordered was 150cm (mine's approx 142cm so typically smth that size would fit me decently well) so either they had lied on the size chart or they sent me the wrong size, as it's only 110cm around, if that! I've already initiated the return and refund process. At least I have ridiculously soft comfy warm bloomers though! 🥲

EDIT: I feel I should note that I got my dress from one of several AliExpress stores selling the same design in various different colours, so it may be that it's just that specific store that is dishonest, and that some of them do actually have it in 150cm bust 4XL size.

But, but, I only see one t-shirt there! I don't recognize the character, either, so maybe she's from a series I haven't seen? I always wanted to try an audiobook sometime to play in my car on the way to and from work, since it's a 45 minute drive each way.

I purchased a sweatshirt and two 20 oz ceramic coffee mugs that are on the way to me, but they are all Trump merchandise so I won't be able to post them in here, lol. 🥸

I got 2 exactly the same.
It's Mizuki Tachibana from the great Mecha drama Gravion.

Ah Ok, that explains why I don't recognize her, she's from a mecha anime, and I do very little mecha - with what appears to be a uniform of some kind, I was thinking she might have been a Gundam character.

Bleach set 1 and TYBW Part 1 have finally arrived.

Could you please check if the eye catches and signs are properly subtitles anytime they appear concurrently to dialogue? The french subtitles [also on the discs] are confirmed to lack all of them. Episode 1 should have plenty of such instance.

I own the set. I have checked the first episode with English subtitles. I can confirm that signs are subtitled correctly with concurrent dialogue.

I played the French version as well, and yes, only the dialogue is subtitled, there is no subtitle for the on-screen Japanese text when there is dialogue present at the same time (e.g., where it's supposed to say "SOUL SOCIETY DEPARTMENT OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT")

Although, it seems odd the subtitled dialogue is at the bottom (where the Japanese text is) and the sign subtitle is at the top!
