You mean like this black thingy in the middle of https://forums.animeuknews.net/attachments/dsc_0219-jpg.1697/ ?That's where the security tag goes.
Yeah, the metallic sticker is the security tag, I have no idea what the hole on spin is for. Maybe to stick your finger in and slide the box out, but most are loose enough that a little shake is all you need. All the StudioCanal slips on the the Studio Ghibli Collection have them as well. You mean like this black thingy in the middle of https://forums.animeuknews.net/attachments/dsc_0219-jpg.1697/
I always thought the security thingies are just these metallic stickers as in https://forums.animeuknews.net/attachments/dsc_0221-jpg.1699/

Or doesn't go more often than not, I can't remember the last time I actually saw one of those security tags holding a DVD or BD case closed. Even major retailers like HMV appear to consider them so much of a waste of time that they'd rather just absorb the losses from a few nicked copies, which I can totally understand. That's where the security tag goes.
Don't remember ever seeing this on a DVD/Blu-Ray, interesting. Sainsbury's, as you can see, use a box for DVD/Blu-ray and have empty boxes for games which get swapped for the real one at the checkout. This is the more common method of security
One time the lady at the checkout left one of them in the film I bought and I had to destroy the case just to watch itThis is the more common method of security
Or you could have gone back to the store to get it removed. One time the lady at the checkout left one of them in the film I bought and I had to destroy the case just to watch it
Yeah but 11 year old me really wanted to watch Van Helsing and it seemed like a good idea at the time.Or you could have gone back to the store to get it removed.
So jealous, I want it on BD but I’ll have to be content with my Premium dvd sets.
How did you get a Japanese seller to sell it to you? Or did you use a proxy for shipping?ye I got really lucky, and a used seller on Amazon JP sold it. Used up the rest of my luck for this year I think.

Not used BIJ for forwarding anything yet but I use them to get my figures because they undervalue.I used a forwarding service. I put the address as my name, and then the address of the company. (I used Big In Japan), and shipped the parcel to them.
There is a 1000 yen fee (I had 2 packages so its 500 yen to forward + 500 yen to reship), and then selected what shipping I wanted. I picked EMS.
They then paypal invoiced me for 3700 yen, which is 1000 yen fee + 2700 yen ems mail fee, and it got shipped within an hour with a tracking number.
Honestly it was easy, and will be using them again in the future for cheaper used releases. (They also undervalue the item on the box, I didn't ask for this but its something they did so avoided customs)

This is pretty helpful! I'm gonna need a forwarding service when the Dragon Ball Super December Ichiban Kuji's open in Japan.I used a forwarding service. I put the address as my name, and then the address of the company. (I used Big In Japan), and shipped the parcel to them.
