What is that weird hole on the side of the slip of your name? oo

You mean like this black thingy in the middle of https://forums.animeuknews.net/attachments/dsc_0219-jpg.1697/

I always thought the security thingies are just these metallic stickers as in https://forums.animeuknews.net/attachments/dsc_0221-jpg.1699/
Yeah, the metallic sticker is the security tag, I have no idea what the hole on spin is for. Maybe to stick your finger in and slide the box out, but most are loose enough that a little shake is all you need. All the StudioCanal slips on the the Studio Ghibli Collection have them as well.

That's where the security tag goes.
Or doesn't go more often than not, I can't remember the last time I actually saw one of those security tags holding a DVD or BD case closed. Even major retailers like HMV appear to consider them so much of a waste of time that they'd rather just absorb the losses from a few nicked copies, which I can totally understand.

Not that there aren't retailers who would benefit from using them. CEX (who'd rather waste everybody's time - employees and customers, by keeping the discs out of the cases behind the counter) springs to mind.

How did you get a Japanese seller to sell it to you? Or did you use a proxy for shipping?

I used a forwarding service. I put the address as my name, and then the address of the company. (I used Big In Japan), and shipped the parcel to them.

There is a 1000 yen fee (I had 2 packages so its 500 yen to forward + 500 yen to reship), and then selected what shipping I wanted. I picked EMS.

They then paypal invoiced me for 3700 yen, which is 1000 yen fee + 2700 yen ems mail fee, and it got shipped within an hour with a tracking number.

Honestly it was easy, and will be using them again in the future for cheaper used releases. (They also undervalue the item on the box, I didn't ask for this but its something they did so avoided customs)

Not used BIJ for forwarding anything yet but I use them to get my figures because they undervalue.

This is pretty helpful! I'm gonna need a forwarding service when the Dragon Ball Super December Ichiban Kuji's open in Japan.
