A big old dvd wallet from Amazon (even got a student discount which was welcome.) Got a bunch of boxsets lying around that need to go into the loft, but by doing this I can still access the discs with ease. Also going to Comb through my movie collection and stick standard amarays in the loft so I can free up some shelf space.

Had a £10 off voucher for ebay if i spent £20. So i upgraded my season 1 & 2 of Game of Thrones to blu ray (as i bought them on dvd before i got into blu ray) and to make it up to over £20 i also got Escape Journey vol 2....all came just over £17 in the end.

I had literally thousands of cdjapan points expiring, so I went into my bookmaks to see what I could get.. went with 3 CDs. And a couple more in 2 months so I will to see that eventually.. But well, might go all the way and get the rest of the oregairu CDs,

Happens that when I get some kind of refund from them, they give me in points and not money.

Technically not today, but I got myself a 55" UHD Samsung the other day! - 4K looks so damn good, also catalogue titles (especially from Sony). On newer titles, the blu-ray looks almost as good as 4K, but I think the main selling point on new titles is HDR (which also looks beautiful).

What TV out of interest? I have a 4K set myself but it's an older model with no HDR, so I wouldn't mind an upgrade.

It's the Samsung 55" UHD Smart TV UE55NU7105, I don't if that's the same name abroad. Since I've noticed that some models have other names in different countries. I got it on sale for 3999,- (Danish currency) which is around £483. TV's have really fallen in price over the years in my opinion.

But the TV looked like it had bad quality in the store, but after tweaking the settings from standard, I could get really good PQ for the price. It's good as an entry level. Also the stores usually show 720p content, and real 4K content with HDR/Dolby Vision on their really expensive TV's to get people to buy those.

I have my eye on a 43” LG 4K TV, we have what I assume to be the older iteration in our living room and it’s pretty good for the price. Trying to find a decent affordable 4K TV is a bit of a crapshoot because there’s always a review that says it isn’t very good or has issues here and there that I may or may not even really notice.

Hmm, do you use like 4K content? I'm thinking 4K films.
You can use this chart to see what TV size would be optimal to be worth:

I got the 55" and I sit around 1.5m from the screen, so yeah I can really see a difference between UHD and HD.
But HDR is definitely worth it imo, also Dolby Vision if your budget allows it lol.

Also nice to see a OoT lover :D

I’ll get one soonish, it’s a case of saving up and finding someone who’ll take my old TV. It’s strange to see 4K HDR TVs being so affordable nowadays, shame 4K Blu Ray players still cost a fair bit. Oh and I have a few Zelda posters, though I’ll likely be replacing them eventually.

I just went from an old cheap 39inch LG from years ago to a 55" Samsung NU8000 the other day, and while I did consider going for something better (really the Sony XF9005 is about the entry point for whats considered decent HDR output) I'm pretty damn happy with it.

Yeah, I'm putting my old one up for sale tomorrow, just to knock a bit of the price on the new one. I went from a 2009 high-end 46" Samsung. I've always had luck with Samsung TVs tbh. I tried a 55" LG, but returned it and put a but of money on top and bought the Samsung on the same day.
I think it has pretty decent HDR output, I've tried comparing to my old TV and the colours really pop on HDR (just need the right settings, and you won't lose any details, whilst getting more colour). I'll upgrade it over the next couple of years, there's already 8K TVs on the market.

I got an LG player from the US, got it for $49 + shipping (my friend picked it up for me at Best Buy and shipped it as well). Really the best thing I could do, since physical media is really dying here in Denmark, so their players are expensive to make up for the losses.

Overall, I'm really happy about the TV, I was dying to see how 4K looked! - the earliest 4K I got was around November 2017.
