I'm back with another update to the PlayStation 3 haul, this time this haul concludes Stage 7 which is dedicated solely to Japan-only imports (retail copies wise). As mentioned in the PHOTOS thread I have a disc replacement for Gal*Gun on its way and Darkstalkers will be here pretty soon. Since I have just enough to get a few more here are the last two titles I'll be importing from Japan for a fair amount of time! Both are relatively cheap to acquire however I once again took the pre-owned route this time.
Another Century's Episode R Released: August 2010 Genre: Action Mecha
I think this is the first FROM SOFTWARE game in my collection now that I think about it (then again I did once own Kuri Kuri Mix, you have my respect if you remember that PS2 gem). This is a crossover mecha game from FROM SOFTWARE (the Souls series) and Banpresto (the Super Robot Wars series), which has always been gathering my curiosity all these years so I finally picked it up. The franchises included in this game are as follows:
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2
Full Metal Panic!
Genesis of Aquarion
Macross Zero
Macross Frontier
Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam
Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny
Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam
Overman King Gainer
Super Dimension Century Orguss
Super Robot Wars Original Generation
So yeah as you can tell having those IPs in one game got me interested in checking this one out.
Mobile Suit Gundam Side Stories Released: May 2014 Genre: Action Mecha
Next we have another HD collection of sorts, technically this is a weird one to explain. This is a remake/compilation of previous Gundam games released in the past and modified so that they're all connected, which as a result put off a lot of Gundam fans and the game got some pretty mixed reviews. Nevertheless here are the games included:
Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: Missing Link (2014 - PlayStation 3 ~ this is the main base of the collection)
Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: The Blue Destiny (1996 - Sega Saturn)
Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: Space, To the End of a Flash (2003 - PlayStation 2)
Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story 0079: Rise From The Ashes (1999 - Dreamcast)
Mobile Suit Gundam: Zeonic Front (2001 - PlayStation 2)
Mobile Suit Gundam: Encounters in Space (2003 - PlayStation 2)
Mobile Suit Gundam: Lost War Chronicles (2002 - PlayStation 2)
Mobile Suit Gundam: Cross Dimension 0079 (1995 - Super Famicom ~ second half only)
Some of these games did get localised in English in the past but this collection is of course in Japanese. I like Gundam so I wanted to try it out.
Here are the remaining to-buy Japan-only titles on my shopping list, feel free to recommend me any others if you have acquired any:
Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn
