What did you BUY today?

I've also re-replaced my Vita preorder now that Amazon have put their bundles up - £219 for the Wifi version with a free 8GB card, plus one of a selection of games for £15.

I'm just thankful I am from Yorkshire, and as such have the unexplainable pride. Otherwise I'd just have the misery and complaints.

Being born and bred a west Yorkshire-man myself (Halifax) I've managed to suppress the Yorkshire twang for the most part (has only taken 15 years) But there are still words that i sound northern still, usually words with an O in them catch me out. Being northern has more plus sides than southerners comprehend.

For a start, the main thing I noticed when I first moved down here was that southerners don’t generally understand sarcasm. They believe that the north is full of gravy loving stereotypes and in comparison to themselves; northerners are abit slower cognitively but stronger physically. The rhyme “Yorkshire-man, Yorkshire-man born and bred; strong in the arms but thick in the head” doesn’t exactly help matters. However the tolerance to cold weather is a major plus lol any snowfall that accumulated beyond an inch and the south starts to go batsh!t crazy and planes are halted, people suddenly cannot drive on the roads and salt is sprayed all over the roads until the council put out a bulletin that they’ve over used the gritters and will need to import salt now.

I remember the days where over a foot of snow had fallen in Halifax and things just continued as normal. People are walking around in big coats right now, im still using the same jacket(s) I’ve worn since last summer; snow hasn’t hit yet so nothing to worry about lol.

Anyway, I have my car now ^___^ just waiting for all my postal orders to arrive and the weekend to commence and I’ll be replacing the headlight bulbs, front right headlight cluster and take it to the garage down the road for a service (mainly to drain and replace the oil in the engine, me and my dad did the rest of the service ourselves lastnight) and then go and get it washed :)

Yep, just done this! Bye bye GAME order. I'm such a sucker for Everybody's Golf, so was cursing them for it not being one of the game offers.

So that's £15 game (chose Rayman Origins), a memory card double the size of the GAME offer and Everybody's Golf and first class delivery for a mere £8 more. No wonder GAME have fallen on hard times.

Which is quite perspicacious of them, I say. In spite of drastic cuts to public spending, the region in toto still manages to uphold its numerous stereotypes without difficulty.

I was tempted to pre-order the Vita, but the price is just insane. Sales in Japan haven't been very strong either.

If anything, I'm more tempted to get the PSP E1000; especially due to a lack of Vita games I'm interested in enough to rush out on day 1 to get it.

EDIT:
Hmm...the Vita is region free while the PSP is not.

If I do pick one up, it won't be at launch though.

No, the PSP is region free while the Vita "sort of" is. :)
I thought Sony outright said that the Vita is Region Free (Except for PS Store purchases, obviously).

And really? The PSP is region free? I thought I read somewhere about how it was region blocked.

UMD movies have regions, none of the games or downloadable games do, and you can access any region store and change which PSN account you're using fairly easily. Vita has stuff to make it really, really awkward to call it properly "region free", stuff along the lines of online passes that will mean you can't import games and play them online while you are using your UK account, and requires a separate memory card and a system level reset to use a different PSN account.

I see. So the Vita is essentially region free, except with a punishment for importers?

Hmm,

Personalised liverpool fc towel for the missus (valentines)
A soppy mirror with writing akin to "you are my world" for the missus (again, valentines)

Usually i boycot valentines day, but this year i'm feeling particularly happy with life (contrast from this time last year 9001 fold)

For myself:
Car seat covers for £18
Parcel shelf clips, realised lastnight that the bloody things are broken ¬__¬ (luckily only cost me a quid on ebay)
4 interior rear view mirror sticky pads - quid

Next up: New radio so i can connect my ipod and play some decent music.

Presuming the radio you have works, you could always get an FM transmitter for your iPod instead. My car radio is original to the car (1972) and an FM transmitter means I can still use it with my iPod. :D

Time by ELO.
I have that on vinyl (charity shop £2 job). Hit and miss album for me, but "Twilight" and "The Way Life's Meant to Be" are top tunes.

I didn't even think of that. Thanks Ayase

My radio is built in (fig 1) so i'd need a cover for the whole panel (fig 2)

Parcel shelf
I feel enlightened, though at the same time somewhat frustrated. For years I was unaware that such a vehicular feature was sold under a specified name, though now that I have been corrected I cannot help but contest its descriptive suitability. Which parcels, I must ask, are so light as to be stored atop such a shelf without risk of deformation? Packaged air? Wholesale marshmallows? Dehydrated ghosts?

Ahh yes, the parcel shelf usually isn't sold separately to the car (in the same way that a jack and spare tyre should also come with the car as standard). For the clips to break though, leaving it inoperable has left me a little bit annoyed for now. That is until the new clips arrive in the post; to which point the parcel shelf will become fully operational for carrying a meerkat plushy provided by a certain insurance comparison site.

Still, the needed force to be applied to break clips on a parcel shelf… what on earth was being carried on it??

Using bday cash I bought pretty much everything on my amazon wishlist: Sherlock Series 2, Warhammer40k Space Marine game (seriously, it's pretty awesome even if you're not much of a fan like moi), Luthor, graphic novel by Brian Azzarello which will accompany my Joker (by the same author) rather nicely, and Family Guy Season 11.

Blue heavy duty car floor mats.
Buying a Battery on saturday and possibly a blue tax disc holder and new gear knob.

Now that the outside of the car is done, im focusing on the interior - luckily i've already sorted the missus' valentines presents so thats not something i have to worry about lol.
