Anyone know why the Japanese set has so many 1-star reviews on Amazon.jp? Neither my Japanese skills nor Google Translate are of much help.

Those 1 stars were because they removed the On Your Mark music video due to the arrest for one of the band members. They recently announced that fans who bought the set would be able to receive it for free.

I would absolutely love to own that set as it looks amazing, but £180 is way too much. I'd snap it up if the price was closer to £100.

That set looks absolutely stunning, but yeah, can't justify paying that price for it, especially as I own most of them already.

Do we know yet whether the films in this collection have been heavily DNR'd like the individual releases? That's pretty much the only thing which would make it worth buying in my mind.
Best case scenario is that we get a straight 1-1 copy of the Japanese encode this time around. Worst case is that it uses the same encodes from the current UK BDs with Extras removed.

Well it states the extras are removed for a slightly higher transfer rate so I'd presume it cannot be the same encode as the existing UK BD's?

Good to see what is actually in this set now, it's basically every film I'd want to pick up. The extra's being removed and the price point does make me wonder if it's a good deal or not though.

Hi there! Just thought that I'd post the updated cover of the soon to be released Spirited Away Blu-ray. I do like this cover better but the fact that Chihiro is missing an outline makes it all look a bit odd. A shame too, I wish Studio Canal broke away from the trend of only doing Deluxe editions for new releases. This and Mononoke deserved something special! Maybe they'll continue the steelbooks lol :p

I can't help but find it funny that, for me at least, the standard edition has by far the nicest art, followed by the collectors with the ultimate edition coming a very distant 3rd...I guess it's not that big a deal at the end of the day, but I backed at the Ultimate tier so kinda disappointing.

It's pretty intriguing how people fall on the images - some really love the image we used for our Quad / Collector's for example whereas others the standard or Ultimate. It's rare you get a split like that really so kind of impressed!

Personally for me it's the Ultimate but I like them all for obviously biased reasons :p.

I like the Ultimate Edition art well enough, but the other two are better in the sense that both represent the film's "world inversion" concept.

Anyway, the standard edition cover art will be on the front of the Official Design Works book, sans logos and other "helpful" information... at least that's how it's shown on the Kickstarter page.

Bingo! Very excited about seeing the book for Patema.

Glad to hear the art on the standard cover will at least be featured in the ultimate edition somewhere, that works for me :)

Love the film and can't wait to rewatch it.

I was planning on buying the Collector's Edition of Patema, but I really like the Ultimate Edition artwork so I'm now really tempted to get that instead and having the Standard versions artwork on the artbook just makes it even more tempting. Of course the decision rests on how much money I have at the time.
