I'm still split between getting the Collector's Editions, getting the standard edition or waiting for Andrew to unleash his Definitive Edition plan.

Nice cover though, I like it.

Although I bought the CE when they were first released, I do plan on double dipping for any definitive edition eventually.

Incidentally, if you are looking to buy it you'll see the price drop soon. I shifted the SRP down from £59.99 to £39.99 - meaning it's exceptionally competitive by time the price change filters in to any other territory. Only possible as we're on Region B too.

Enjoy folks!

These are new to Amazon I think:

Nice Kill La Kill cover. Loving that.

Hopefully we get to see Space Dandy & Blood Lad covers shortly (Plus that should mean they go up on A/L's shop which I'm waiting for)

Evangelion 3.3 cover is lovely, but it doesn't go with 1.1 or 2.2s covers at all.

In the back of my head I'm thinking my 2.22 didn't match my 1.11, but quite frankly it's been an age since those came out so I might be wrong :p

I was wondering, do I need to be familiar/have seen the series or know about the franchise to be able to pick up Evangelion 1.11, 2.22 and I guess eventually 3.33?

I'm interested in purchasing but I literally cannot tell you what the series or franchise is about. I wanted 1.11 a long time ago when it was on sale for a ridiculously good price but was unsure I'd know what was going on.

I recommended checking out the original series because there are teases here and there that kind of relate to the events prior.

But 1.11 is an exact replica of the first six episodes (with animation upgrades) so it's okay to go through the Rebuild without seeing the TV series and its 2 movies.

Cheers dear. I'll note the series down and do some googling as I may purchase. If I can't purchase, at least it won't feel too foreign for me if I just watch the films.

You think the films will have the same sort of feel/effect on me as Karas did though? I wasn't able to grasp that franchise too well so if you think it would, I'll hold off and definitely go for the series when finance leaves me able.

As others have pointed out, the first film is almost a shot for shot remake of the opening episodes of the TV show - so you absolutely don't miss out on anything having not watched the TV show (except perhaps the incredible OP theme). The audio is better, the visuals are better. Etc.

Things obviously vary a little after that, but honest, Evangelion is a must see in any format, and it won't take long to power through the first two films and get up to speed in time for the 3rd.

Bakemonogatari is as predicted, using Hanabee's covers which do work by the way (though I'm not sure about the alignment on the DVD spine).

Garden of Sinners is as expected, though for some reason they're advertising the set like it's exactly the same as the US version (digipacks) when it's in fact the Australian version (slim DVD cases).

Can anyone tell me a bit about Garden of Sinners? It undeniably looks gorgeous but, as I have said before, I really don't deal well with gore and it can write things off for me completely. What's it like?

I'll bite on bakemonogatari. Regret selling my aniplex box :( will get the nise set in December to and buy the rest as single releases.

I refuse to buy garden of the sinners until it gets released on blu ray but if in twelve months that hasn't happened I'll buy this.

The only problem of waiting is that it seems they have only 2k copies available, that's why iIve decided to buy actually even though I wanted on BD. If it ever comes out, I guess I'll buy it again, this show deserves it! But hey, even AUS doesnt have the BD's so I dont see it happening in the UK. :\ Unfortunately I must say.. May I be totally wrong...
