Yeah, they've just re-released it with the box, but what I like about it, is that they're also selling the box seperately for those who bought the 1st run :)
That's pretty cool of them.

Monster will get all of my monies - provided it's a complete release. Didn't the US one just abruptly stop?
It is. They're repackaging the already existing parts.
Part 1 (1-15)
Part 2 (16-30)
Part 3 (31-45)
Part 4 (46-60)
Part 5 (61-74)

NICE! Cheers for that, Blackstrat. I may just wait a little while to see if anything's announced through conventions regarding a UK release. If not, that'll go on the shopping list.

Yes I believe Viz only released 1 maybe 2 sets before just dropping it.

Kinda odd really, why can Australia make it work when America fails to find the series profitable?

I wish the show was as good as the art work.

I don't know I thought season 1 was pretty good, season 2 is where I thought it went tits up. I absolutely love the Mecha designs though.

I think the cracks started appearing early on, I mean are they Martians or humans that moved to Mars? First they're one, then they're the other, then they're the first one again, then they're people who were hiding on spaceships in the moon?!

...good point raised, I can't pin point which one they are off the top of my head.

Aldnoah had intense potential, gorgeous art, stellar soundtrack, very interesting concept and it just slowly fell apart. They could of done so much more, especially with The solider with PTSD, I expected much more from the character but it was just wasted. Throwing Inaho in to OP the heck out of every single situation was such a bad choice. The only part I really liked was Count Crouton, I was gutted when he was killed off but that entire plot line got me going, made me feel something for the show..he finally realized Slaine was on his side and there was corruption then BAM, dead... ..siggh, shame.

It's a trick question. It changes throughout the series, first they're revealed as Martians, then it's explained that they're humans who moved to Mars, then they just start referring to them as Martians again.

I'm not sure where the hiding in the moon things comes from, but I think it's what the Knights were doing? :D

Yep you read that right, Rokka will also be released as a standard edition. Looks like PONYCAN are finally listening to the feedback. Collector's is SRP $89.98 and Standard is SRP $52.98/$42.98 (Blu-ray/DVD).

Kind of bland cover art...

I wonder how well it will do in the US - surely it can't do worse than it did in Japan, even at PonyCan prices? Nice to see it is getting a standard edition too though.

I like what PONYCAN is going for, but I feel the price should have been less than what they were charging, if only they delayed their plans for each title by 6 months to make it cheaper.

Glad that there's finally a sensibly sized offering from Ponycanyon (**** those stupid oversized DVD cases). Rokka is one of two titles I actually want from them, and that's one of the issues preventing me from purchasing the show removed. The other is that at over $10 an episode, I'm not going to settle for anything less than a JP quality release - something which once again doesn't seem to be the case since the LE back lists 1 BD25. At the asking price, there is no reason whatsoever to cheap out for the US release - especially when this this the same company which claimed commitment to Japanese quality releases. For the record, Denki-Gai is the only PonCanUS release authored in Japan so far.

Even though I was only so-so on Rokka I'd buy it if they were giving it a decent release. It's pretty. But until they stop with this bizarre strategy of expensive low quality releases I'm going to skip it. If the standard edition actually got proper wide distribution so I could buy it at a more competitive price from somewhere other than TRSI (or a distributor which goes through TRSI) it would be more interesting, but at the end of the day I resent them for giving us deluxe editions with locked subs and cut-down quality.
