Railgun cover looks ace (and makes me long even more for a UK release that'll probably never happen *sighs*)

All the Anime are certainly powering ahead with those French releases aren't they! I'm guessing these are the kind of things that'd barely sell anything over here, hence no release.

Cover art for the Japanese Blu-ray Disc Box of K-On!! has been unveiled. Arriving quite soon, this set contains English subtitles in similar fashion to Season 1 (Main Episodes + Ura-On Specials).

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but I spotted it on Rightstuf. Since there's no BD case, what sort of packaging will that come in?

Rightstuf won't allow images shown outside its website. Take this one here and I'll edit the post later:

Judging by the image, the consistency is broken. Season 1 has their chipboard sets while Extra Edition looks the same as Monogatari SS and Nisekoi, sigh.

Nice poster though (not sure if it's appropriate for my room though heh).

Funimation's release of Ghost in the Shell: ARISE borders 1 & 2 gets a HAL style treatment:

Each Blu-ray case is a border, which includes a Blu-ray & DVD in addition to a booklet each.

He calls them amaray cases when clearly they are not.

They sure look like amaray cases, basic plastic case with spots to hold discs, certainly not a digipack or jewel case. If they are not amaray what are they?

Amaray is a brand name, which is gradually being genericised due to the success of their cases. Traditionally people would only use 'Amaray' to refer to the cases made by one company of a particular specification, but nowadays the word seems to be synonymous with 'keep case' for many people. There used to be heated wars over which type of keep case was better with competition from Amaray, Scanavo, Alpha and other brands and some anime companies specifically advertised the kind they used since there was so much hatred for Scanavo-brand cases in particular.

That was a weird period in history which I had completely forgotten up until now.

I did wonder if it was a brand thing, thanks for clearing that up.

Amaray must be quite please that their brand name has become synonymous with what is a basic keep case

A bit late on this but here's the cover arts for Sentai Filmworks and Maiden Japan's February 2014 (minus Chunibyo since we already know what that looks like):

Genshiken: Second Generation is finally coming to Blu-ray!
It's a new semester at Shiiou University, and for "The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture," AKA Genshiken, that can only mean one thing - new freshman recruits! Originally founded as a club for otaku to discuss their unabashed love of anime, manga, and video games with one another, the current president of Genshiken, Chika Ogiue, may have bitten off more than she can chew by recruiting a bunch of yaoi-obsessed fujoshis to join their ranks! Meanwhile, the original members of Genshiken who have since graduated find themselves coming to terms with their new lives as productive members of society.

Contains episodes 1-13 plus a full-color 64-page hardcover art book with episode guides, character info, interviews with cast members and production staff, an otaku terminology guide, and illustrations.

Special Featues: Genshiken Discussion Topics Bonus Shorts, Clean Openings and Endings.

Spoken Languages: Japanese, English subtitles.

Due to license restrictions, this item cannot be shipped to Japan.
I was hoping NIS would dub the show given Season 1, Season 2, the OVAs and it's spin-off were given an English dub. Either way, I loved Second Generation so I'll be picking it up when it's available to pre-order on UP1.

Release Date: February 3rd 2015
Region: A

That edition looks stunning.

Really hope someone manages to pick Genshiken (either just the second series, or both) for UK release - it's long overdue.
