That deathnote cover would be a lot nicer without the shonen jump logo. And the whole volume 1 area looks bulky and out of place, I'd suspect putting white around the number 1 to match the title might help a little.

Gurren Lagann pics will be up later for now (technical pic issue, they're available here but I can't show them now)

The Death Note and Naruto covers look awful.

Re. Otorimonogatari - how does 4 eps fit on 2 discs? Two episodes per disc?! Or all four on one disc and then the extras on the other?

Two BD 25s with two 7gb episode files on each disc + extras. Exactly the same release format as the Japanese release, just with Eng Subs and without Audio Commentaries.
As usual Aniplex give you exactly the same transfers from the Japanese releases, hence the filesizes, and they're far better than what you get from a standard Western release.
It's also probably cheaper for them to do 2xBD25s than 1 BD50, hence two discs.

Figured I'll post some sets from KAZE France and Germany:

So far in terms of licensing Anime Limited have all of Full Metal Panic! so I think the French set above is a good idea of what the Ultimate set could look like. Kuroko's Basketball is unlicensed but they have nice covers. KAZE/Viz Media Europe have suspected to own Nisekoi and so I don't see the title being released on Blu-ray in the UK since it's subtitle only thanks to Aniplex (it could, but chances are it's DVD only).

I'd happily have the FMP and Kuroko's Basketball sets if they came out over here like that. Does that say 22 episodes on the side of box two of Kuroko. Don' tell me thats another mistake by Kaze.

That Nisekoi box looks...awfully big. Shame Kazé Germany seems to be an entirely different entity to Kazé France, who lumps us with stuff. Also, shame that Kazé probably have the UK license to begin with.

How can France possibly get a Blu ray complete collection of Nisekoi out this quick!!! Japan has crazy double standards:
France has a different language and different DVD & Blu ray region codes.
England has a different language and different DVD & Blu ray region codes.
If you're gonna be dicks about licences be a dick to every one!

Anime/Manga is more popular in France, as far as I know - but yes, it does seem weird that two territories so close in terms of distance could have such vastly different release strategies.

Mangaranga has given the correct and sensible answer, but they could roll with 1 episode per disc if they really wanted to, it's when they are trying to fit 12 eps on a disc that eyebrows should be raised.

There's a few things I can think of, foremost that they learn English in Japan so that makes UK/US releases more accessible, hence making US/UK companies wait/jump through hoops. Secondly, are those subtitles locked or not? locked subs would allow a quicker release. Thirdly, France and other European countries tend to licence animation from other countries and dub them, meaning over the years they have probably built up a much better relationship with foreign animators, giving them an edge.

That isn't a complete collection for Nisekoi you guys realize right?
Most of Kaze Germany's releases are still done over volumes, with the first volume coming with a slipbox to store all of them in. Nisekoi is no exception, with this being Volume 1 containing episodes 1 - 5.

Going by the information posted on AniBlu about Kaze Germany releases they're pretty damn good actually. High Quality releases at Japanese level bitrates without locked subtitles and BS like that.
I seriously don't understand how the German arm can be so good, yet the French and UK arm so ******.

Well if I was being stereotypical, Germans do have a rep for precision and fine workmanship and the French/UK less so.

Yusibu looks so moe it hurts (I'd probably still buy it though)

Probably true, when I saw the cover I did think I'd not heard of it, but I've now realised it's something I've already pre-ordered because I was working on its stupidly long English name :)

Another couple of good covers from Sentai I think

I watched Yusibu when it was airing, it was pretty good and more fun than 'The devil is a part timer' in my opinion, but I was sure it'd be a prime candidate for a dub (even more so when I heard Sentai had it) so I'm actually really surprised its sub only :(

Than again Sentai do only have like 6 actors, they must be busy dubbing something else :p

Yu-shibu won't get a dub? Well that makes me sad as it looks awesome :(

I'm gutted now the way I was when I found out Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day isn't and won't be dubbed either :'(
