anyone here picking up CCS?

I considered it but after noticing what the packaging is like I'm not so sure now (overlapping discs is not the best thing in the world, but in this case at least it's not in a digipack). It's about £120 on UP1USA so I may pick it up if there's still time since it's selling out quite faster than I expected.

I might pick it up if the Toradora set turns out to be region B compatible, but to be honest I expected a nicer looking set from NISA considering the price. Not huge fan of overlapping discs either. Would have preferred a digipack to be honest. Not keen on the logo either.

There will be a standard blu ray set later on, but I don't know if that will be in 3 parts or 1. My blu ray player can switch regions but it's been a bit unreliable lately so I'm hesistant to buy region A blu rays.

Clear screenshots for Kill la Kill: Set 1 Limited Edition Blu-ray/DVD (RF/1) and Puella Magi Madoka Magica: The Beginning/Eternal Limited Edition Blu-ray/DVD (RF/1):

Someone over at Fandom Post have more pictures here and here.

Those look very tasty indeed (although I hope the eventual UK release of Kill La Kill isn't a 5 volume one)

If I recall correctly, Andrew said it will be a minimum of 3 volumes.
If Aniplex suddenly changed their minds on MangaUK's Sword Art Online volume 1 having an actual background....

Wouldn't it be funny if one day we discover that the real reason Aniplex treat Manga UK with such an attitude is that they have been following their Twitter account all this time and finally had enough?

I guess it wouldn't be so funny for the people looking forward to the UK releases, but I'd find it amusing ^^;

Those Kill la Kill shots are almost enough to make me change my mind and buy the show without a second thought.

Why, what's stopping you Rui? :D
The only reason I was a bit wary about ordering KLK was due to the amount of space five sets will take up.

In this case it's simply that I didn't like the show all that much!

But they're so pretty...>_<

Regarding Aniplex I've still got some cash left to pick a few up but I keep getting that feeling that the latest sets (Anohana movie, Kill la Kill, Madoka Movie Part I & II) would sell out. Then again, as we have noticed a lot of US fans are importing the UK/AU versions instead (Blue Exorcist & Sword Art Online I've seen being sold on Amazon US) which probably explains how all of the Aniplex 2013 titles are still in stock (aside from Madoka import since UK/AU aren't getting them yet).

I might as well mention it now, I haven't seen the main Anohana series so should I go for the Movie when it's part recap, part sequel? £47 is actually a good price with it's content?

sigh

In addition, disc 1 has the first 9 episodes while disc 2 has the last two. Someone slap Funimation.

Is it actually Region A locked, or just printed that way on the cover?

Cover wise, their shopping site stated it would be A and 1. Tested wise, no one knows but Baggie Saiyan will be testing the discs when his copy arrives. I speculate this might be Funimation's (and presumably Sentai's) new way to keep foreigners away from importing their stuff while secretly allowing some of them to be region free.

Oh. :| FUNiiiiiii.

NormanicGrav do you have any pics of the disc art? Since AoT was AB on the back but was only A on the disc.

I'll still keep my order, if it's locked no biggie I'll watch/rip the DVD's then probably sell the set on eBay or something. Or I could save up for a multi-region or region a BD player.

The user on Fandom Post has yet to release screenshots of the disc art.

Remember it's now a 50/50 chance, Kamisama Kiss and Karneval were stated Region A and ended up being Region B also (despite their discs, site info and cover info say otherwise).

In terms of playability, I hear VLC can play region free DVDs (not Blu-ray since that's in update hell pretty much) if you feel the need to play them.

Yeah VLC can play DVD's.
I'm thinking of getting an external BD player & getting a USB to HDMI cable thingy and playing it like that on the TV.

Also, I knew K. Kiss & Karneval were region B but I didn't know that the disc said A only. Then we really won't know till it gets tested.

I can empathise but that's exactly the problem with Kill la Kill, all style no substance, I think there were points where there was so much effort going into creating something 'cuh-razy' and 'over the top' that it ended up coming full circle, coming off more like the average episode of Naruto.

If you thought KLK was all style & no substance did you actually watch past the first few episodes or are you one of those with this who watched a couple & then decided to write the whole show off?

The Anohana Movie (RF/1) set looks good to me, you can position the set so that it's standing like any other Blu-ray case (in other words the height will be the same as the other Blu-ray sized sets).

This is basically the exact same style as the Japanese Blu-ray set except the box and some of the special content is different.

The Anohana Movie release is really looking good. I've slowed down somewhat in my anime purchases recently (especially AoA releases), but this is definitely going in the 'to buy' list.
