How VAT works for US customer? As customer outside of UK (CZ) all the prices on AtA are w/o VAT for me, si its all reduced by approx 21%. US customer pays price with VAT to AtA? Otherwise it would make no sense to offer this service.
We do not get charged VAT. I'm not sure how much off it is, I never really much paid attention but it's decently cheaper.
They just send me the price I paid based off my card's conversion and the shipping from me to them and maybe a box if i need to get one but with all the stuff I buy my house is overflowing with packaging to reuse lol. USPS also gives free shipping supplies provided you use a USPS label. I don't do this for money.
I still benefit from it though because it's always somewhere I'm already ordering from and
a) it helps bump my own cart to the 150 pound shipping threshold or
b) if not we split the shipping and whether I join someone else's group order or they join mine it's usually still cheaper than 25 pound shipping esp if I make multiple orders like I planned/have bc of the way this sale is set up with last chance offers and flash sales and limited quantity in general and is cheaper than proxies that charge per item as well as often have consolidation fees.
I do it every so often when LEs or smthg limited to America releases too and folks intl want it, like the Spice and Wolf Collector's Edition that yen press reprinted. I used to be ok with g&s but now with the new tax rules for online stuff I only take f&f for stuff like this. It's usually an offer that most folks who take already know me anyways since, fairly so, you probably shouldn't send a random stranger f&f payments though I get a couple randos here and there.
Coming from the kpop fandom, group orders are quite prominent, and I used to group order manager(GOM) for that (it's also pretty common that most GOM did this for free past in-person events or like limited sales that were limited to fanclub members ( as you'd need a paid membership) etc) soo having the experience juggling orders for over hundreds of people's payments, addresses, package inventory etc smtg like this for a few people is easy to manage between DMs. Maybe if I had more than 10 folks joining though I'd probably arrange a google form. And it's not like I offer a service, it happens when I'm already buying from the place and usually bc there's a FS threshold lol I'm not offering to become someone's go to proxy buyer or smthg but if you need help getting something from America Im down to help usually
