UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Bargains

The pairing of Baccano! and Durarara makes sense to me - they both have supernatural aspects to them, after all. That said, if it was just Baccano!, I'd have sprung for it. But £30 for two shows, one of which I already have... nup. That's a pass.

I actually think by this point that there have been some pretty keen deals in the AL sale this year. Enough of them to dispel some concerns I had initially that this was going to be one of those 'let's do a sale but not actually offer anything much that people would conceivably want' type of deal. Only two pick ups for me so far, though.

Yeah. The pairing makes sense. It's probably the same kind of deal as the Production I.G. Bundle earlier in this sale, only this one is a Narita Bundle (same author).

Would I be right in assuming EVERYONE on this forum owns 2 copies of Durarara!!

I have a copy for every member in my family.

I picked up Durarara! like a week ago from Zavvi for £13 so I'm passing on the AL deal.

Not really interested so passing on the Oreimo deal. Guess ill be picking up tomorrows AL deal.

Gah. I turned down the Space Dandy BD pre-order in AL's deals in case the DVD boxset appeared as one of the later offers.

Now I kinda wish I'd ordered it. B... Baby.

I feel that ANY discussion even remotely pertaining to Space Dandy needs to see us all ending our sentences with 'baby', baby.

What's also notable is that Zavvi (at least from my recent orders) have improved their packaging significantly, so there's less chance of Dandy damage during transit, baby!

Already have Baccano and Durarara!! CE/LE/Whatever they were called, two utterly fantastic shows though.

Be passing on MVM too, I hope Log Horizon BDs turn up in their sale at some point.

The theory behind the pairing makes perfect sense (Ryogo Narita works) the odd part is from a sales point of pairing an item that everyone owns with one some will want. Baccano by itself for say £15 or even £20 I'd of been all over but not this. Or even pairing it with another title like for example Terror in Resonance.

As you say there have been some great deals but only one pick up for myself (Fate/Kaleid ).

Gotta say, I'm looking back over this last page of the thread and feeling a little emotional, baby.

When I suggested a few pages and several Anime Limited sales deals back that we should all end our Space Dandy related posts with 'baby', I never expected any of you to actually do it. I feel like I've reached some of you. Maybe I've even undone a little of what's wrong with the world, baby. I mean, I can't bring Bowie back. But I feel like I was able to prove something important here - that there's a little Dandy in all of us.

(Ew.)

Like, what have I created, baby?

More seriously, baby:

I think it might be a bit of a stretch to assume that 'everybody' owns Durarara. At least, as much as it might be to suggest that everybody already owns Baccano! or even Terror in Resonance. I mean, I'd have passed on a bundle if TiR was the other half of it, because I already have that as well.

I guess the thing is, this is going to be like all sales. It'll be ideal for some folks, and not for others. I do wonder how many sales the Anime Limited crew might be making to folks who don't necessarily frequent this forum.

...

I feel bereft for not ending this post without even a minor Space Dandy reference now.

Don't forget the mention it seems Zavvi has lowered Outlaw Star to £38.99.

^ That is a smashing price for a extremely fantastic release. The quality of the video and audio on that release is one of the best I've ever experienced, and is a steal at that price.
