UK Anime Blu-ray & DVD Bargains

Dubs have always been more important to me, largely due to the way I watch a lot of anime, ie. Peripherally, while doing other things. That being said, I don't totally dismiss sub-only releases. If that's the only way then I'd rather have a subbed release than no release.

I also have absolutely no chance of keeping up with new shows. Just can't do it. Half of my available viewing time (at least) goes on classic anime viewing. The rest, mostly goes to 'recent' shows, ie. Within the last couple of years maybe. Doesn't really leave much time to catch the brand new stuff.

Hence, to me, slower releases wouldn't kill me. That being said, I'm sure I'm in the minority there, in fact, probably with everything I said above! :D

Well I don't watch dubs myself but like yourself (although I'm a lot more extreme) I only watch old stuff and as such I don't stream or care for concurrent shows. Even so, it's obvious that with new shows you need to strike while the iron is hot, especially since a lot of the new shows seem to be blink and you miss them affairs with not many of them sticking. People tend to flock towards the next thing, I guess a lot of it has to do with wanting to be a part of the current conversation with all of the reactions and such with each episode.

I have a list of anime that I'll watch time and time again. Watching new(er) shows, for me, is a means to an end. Stuff that I watch, and enjoy, gets added to the repeat list. Stuff that I don't enjoy, or that I could take or leave, gets cast aside. Durarara!! was probably the last show I added. I'm slowly working my way through Kill la Kill and Space Dandy as well but I can't really give a view on those until I'm finished.

I should probably get CR. Even viewing the SD content would give me an idea of what to add to the list and what to discard, but sadly, like a magpie, I am drawn to shiny things! :D

Trigun would be a great one for them to do - personally I ended up caving and buying it full price a few months back as I really wanted to watch it. It's 8 discs though I think (with only 3 eps on some of the discs), hence why it seems to cost more than other two cour MVM collections.

Some Amazon price-cuts for forthcoming releases:

Full Metal Panic Ultimate Edition - £108
No Game No Life Collector's Edition - £36
Sword Art Online II Part 2 - £28
Gundam Reconguista In G - £43
Dragon Ball Z Kai Part 3 - £28

Can't believe how much the Tokyo Ghoul DVD has upped in price on Amazon. Glad I pre-ordered on Base. Waiting for Future Diary to reduce a little more in price. Budgeting is hard :(

I might be missing something but for some reason MVM have Arakawa Under The Bridge X Bridge (Season 2) for £9.99 on their shop just now, it's the same on Amazon (but with added postage).

Red Garden is also £9.99 on their site (though not on Amazon).

Interesting... I'm unfamiliar with typical DVD prices but they seem to have a large number of DVDs as low as 99p or £1.99... They even have Nisemonogatari part 2 DVD for £1.99 which seems unusually low?

All DVD's sorted by price ascending. I find setting 50 per page makes navigation easier...
