Wonder if Madman will get those. They got the pins and necklaces for their part 1 collectors edition.

Oh god. I'd love for a UK BD release of the Raildex franchise but Manga can't license it, Tony of MVM said it's in their too hard basket, (I got the impression that the licensor wants a lot of money for it) and that only leaves Alltheanime, and last I heard was when I asked on twitter and got this response back in April:Jon O Fun said:And while we're at it with the dreaming out loud INDEX! RAILGUN! HAGANAI! thanks guys.
Looking at it now - it's more possible for us so watch this space
In other words, this is the Sankarea incident all over again. Only this time they caught on to it sooner than later.Funimation said:FUNimation will be postponing the English dub release of the series Ben-To. We have realized that there are inconsistencies associated with the materials used to create the release. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause fans who are eager to see this series, but we want to ensure that the product we are releasing is to the highest standard that our fans expect. We will provide a new release date once it becomes available.

I just hope that it is coming. Raildex has gotten such rotten treatment in the west, being delayed for years and even after the first seasons finally got released back at the end of 2012 all we got was a DVD with a pretty meh dub. Index II is nowhere to be seen, and Railgun S is also DVD only despite being animated at glorious 900p. If the JP BD Boxes had English Subs I would've easily imported them, heck I even have the Subless JP Movie LE.
Kai'd be nice. I wouldn't mind getting BDs of those.SnowWolf said:ConanThe3rd said:Given a Manga Sailor Moon will be a Kaze Sailor Moon I'd rather choke on my own spit.
Manga UK logo have dissappeared from Kaze releases so maybe they've ended the partnership.
Thinking it over, it could be DBZ on bluray or DBZ Kai.
If it's not doing anything to the quality of the show (and I don't have the numbers so I'm talking outta my butt on this one) then is it that big an issue?NormanicGrav said:UPDATE - Good god, Discotek wants to experiment with SD content onto one BD50 disc. If AL Could just quitely bring Discotek's libary under the border that'd be neat.Joshawott said:That made me think...I'd like to see Anime Limited release Lupin III.
Manga are still distributing for Kaze, but their logo is no longer on the case.SnowWolf said:Manga UK logo have dissappeared from Kaze releases so maybe they've ended the partnership.
I've said since the beginning of bluray that I'd love to see SD shows on BD just for the improved codec and higher bitrate available, although I don't know what the options are for SD material on BDs.NormanicGrav said:Discotek wants to experiment with SD content onto one BD50 disc[/url]. NormanicGrav said:Also the BIG NEWS is probably going to be either of the following:
- They successfully made a deal with Warner Bros to bring over JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (considering Viz Media will be bringing some more news at Anime Expo this July)
- They have Sailor Moon, in conjunction with KAZE (since they were bringing the series over in Europe)
- They have One Piece Film Z for a December release
- Some Funimation titles that they could have picked up but decided to let everyone import instead (something like Fafner, Haganai, Heaven's Lost Property etc. etc.)
- They announce the Q4 line up (with Berserk GA: Advent, Fairy Tail: Part 9, One Piece: Collection 8, Devil is a Part Timer, Robotics;Notes: Part 2, Attack on Titan: Part 2)
Either way I wonder what the big news is...

Sounds like a perfectly good idea to me, why use ten DVDs when you can use one BD? Though I was under the impression the Blu-ray Disc Association wouldn't allow people to release non-HD BDs...Professor Irony said:ConanThe3rd said:If it's not doing anything to the quality of the show (and I don't have the numbers so I'm talking outta my butt on this one) then is it that big an issue?NormanicGrav said:UPDATE - Good god, Discotek wants to experiment with SD content onto one BD50 disc. The wording of Discotek's facebook post on this wasn't entirely clear. When I read it originally, the impression I got was that they would consider releasing SD series on BD, which wouldn't otherwise be financially viable - i.e. they would not be released at all otherwise. If that's the case, I'd be all for it.

I'd be worried if it did get licensed to be honest. Would Roundabout still be intact? Would the subtitles be the same?Sinthetic said:NormanicGrav said:Also the BIG NEWS is probably going to be either of the following:

Man, I'll happily pay £50-100 for the first Season of JoJo in a chipboard box, I was going to buy the entire set for £350 from Japan earlier this year. If this happens, it'll be the best release of the year.

It'll be interesting to see whether Viz does indeed announce it soon though, and let's be honest. If a deal has been made with someone, maybe that would explain the lack of English subs for the Stardust Crusaders Blu-rays.
