I'm actually pretty happy about this, Tenchi Muyo! is back and for 50 episodes (5 minutes each). Entitled Ai: Tenchi Muyo!, the folks of Takahashi are funding the series while the Tenchi Muyo! creator Masaki Kajishima is credited as the original creator and Hiroaki Inoue is attached as the producer for the upcoming series.

While Shonen Jump's World Trigger is getting an anime adaptation.

Oh dear god this better bomb hard on the Xbox One; Chaos;Child, Mystereet F & Psycho Pass Visual Novels are exclusive to the next gen console. They're better off on the PS4.

I'm quite excited for World Trigger - always seemed like a no brainer to get an anime adaptation, as one of SJ's more action orientated series. It got a bit bland for a while as it filled out backstory, but has been pretty damn decent for the past month or so as they stepped up the ante and introduced a new set of major villains.

Funnily enough, FMA on Blu-ray did come up at the Anime Industry Panel at Comic Con and MangaUK did say they would want to do it if it was possible, iirc.

I have a feeling Microsoft threw LOOOOADS of money for exclusives to those visual novel games.
They don't want another failed console in Japan. They tried to get loads of JRPG's last gen exclusive to boost them in Japan (Lost Odyssey, Infinite Unidscovery, Tales of Vesperia, Eternal Sonata, Star Ocean to name a few. Even if some did eventually come to the PS3.) and I guess this is their newest tactic.

We'll have to see what happens then. The Japanese price for Xbox One will be the same as the PS4 (and without the Kinect) so it might cause some challenges between the two.

I loved the original series of Tenchi that was on Cartoon Network. It would of been nice if the release did have something to do with that. Is the series I speak of even available to buy???

It's incredibly hard to find and its a title we're actively pursuing to get back, but there's a lot of complications with the license...But we're definitely hoping to have it back at some point.

This is actually one of the series (ie. Muyo, universe, tokyo, ryo ohki, war on geminar) that im surprised hasn't been chased up by other companies for UK release as it aired on Cartoon Network and will be memorable to quite a few. Because FUNi's OVA and Movie collections were region locked I thought there might be something holding the licence back.

Stick it on the list of titles along with Index/Railgun, Heaven's Lost Property, and Haganai that would sell well in the UK but no one can get their hands on and by the time they do the people that really want them will have imported them years before so they've lost out :'(

I'm going to guess that Geneon Entertainment is the reason why MVM mentioned 'lot of complications'.
Either that or they want a lot of money for it. I believe Tony hinted that was the reason why they've not licensed Index or Railgun, although I could be wrong about that one.

I would love a UK company to pick up Index & Railgun but it'd have to be pretty amazing and blu ray to make me upgrade my US artbox versions now.

As for Haganai that was one of the titles I was hoping someone would announce at MCM, its out on blu in Australia so shouldn't be to hard to get a deal going, and if they're gonna they need to get on it ASAP I personally know 12 people that have imported and have seen a few people on this forum mention getting it. So the pool of potential sales is growing ever smaller for whoever does license it...

After watching Haganai NEXT dubbed I'm curious if the BBFC may be okay with the amount of strong sex references in the franchise (and also Kobato & Maria).

Sentai Filmworks made their way to Atlanta for Momocon 2014 this Memorial Day weekend, and we brought a couple of announcements with us. Just in case you missed our panel, here is what all we announced:

Box Set Love:
The Love Chunibyo & Other Delusions Numbered Limited Edition Premium Box Set will be shipping in time for the holidays, so make room on your wishlists for it!
Speaking of box sets, we will also be doing a High School of the Dead box set, which will also be out in time for the holidays. Chuni’s and zombies…what more could you ask for?

English Dubs:
Fan favorites Outbreak Company and Sunday Without God will be gettting an English dubs, which will be due out sometime this year.
We’ve gone back and taken a look at some catalog stuff and will be giving Maid-sama! the English dub treatment. I personally loved this title, so I’m super stoked to hear the dub, which will be out sometime this year!

Blu-rays:
Some of you have asked us why so many September releases have been DVD only. We can tell you now that K-ON! Season 1, Stella Woman’s Academy, High School Division Class C3, and Tamako Market will all be receiving Blu-ray versions very soon.
While we’re on the subject, the beautifully animated Tari Tari will also be released on Blu-ray soon, so watch out for that!

It's just a rumor. No need to panic...yet. He just said he wants to direct it, not that he will.

KAAAAAAAAAA BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.

I'M SURE he'll be accurate as naming his teenage alien ninja turtles.

He won't do a good job with it........in fact I bet someone's paying him to direct it and knows he'll make a mess of it.

I won't o Bay This........get it

With the BBFC it's all about context

While there is some nudity in season 1&2 it's not framed in a sexual manner. When you look at the warnings the BBFC gives it's always a combination of things, sexualised violence, sexualised nudity etc. This is why strike witches was a 12, it had nudity but didn't combine it with any of the BBFC's red flag activities.

I can imagine Haganai would get flagged up on the language aspect

So how is he going to self aggrandise the US Army in a story about basically Ultraman punching all of existence in the face with religion?
Gendo Ikari will be changed to "General 'MURICA", Tokyo-3 will become "New York-1" (because America is #1) and the Angels will become "Terrorists". Shinji's patheticness will also be changed into blind patriotism.

surely you mean that the Angels will become giant transforming robots, and so will the Evas.

Fixed.
