If it helps, I remember finding this post interesting (part of the outcry about the banding issues with Lain in the US):

Ah, I never knew that. I knew that the brightness/contrast of Funi's releases were pretty heavily messed with but not other distributors.
I actually checked my Japanese copy of Garden of Words against the US release and it's the same situation there.
The US release is brighter, which I suppose is part of the reason for banding being present, but I'd still put it down to the fact that Sentai can't encode properly. Hell just from watching the first two minutes to make a comparison I noticed what appears to be vertical lines across the right side of the screen in scenes of Sentai's release which isn't present on the JP discs.

That's weird! Is anyone able to check if that is present on their UK copy?

Have you seen/heard of that bad section in the Sentai release of Colorful? Crazy how stuff like that happens. I chased up that Thread you did about Penguindrum and was shocked of the quality difference.

Thanks for the F/Z shots BTW mate. Are you happy with the UK version overall?

Anime Limited have released an update regarding Cowboy Bebop, here's a short version:
- DVD Collector's Edition from back in November is now Out of Print, so if you want it you can buy it over at MVM's AOL, UP1 or their own shop.
- Blu-ray Complete Series will be on track for June with the correct discs.
- DVD Complete Series will be re-released in June similarly to the Blu-ray version (standard packaging with reversible cover). Also available for pre-order on Amazon UK.
- Blu-ray disc replacements will be ready for June.

Did you know that in North America, pizza has healing properties?

I mean, how else can you explain the number of edits being made to Doraemon? Some of them make perfect sense but others...less so.

And Americans don't understand the meaning of having a big read zero scrawled on their exam sheet?
Must be why in that particular example, they failed maths.

And you replace sweet potatoes with popcorn, and then get rid of sweets in order to promote healthy food?
'Murica.

I wonder if the Part 1 and Part 2 volumes of Bebop will go out of print once the complete series box is out? I picked up Part 1 when it came out but held off on Part 2 due to a massive viewing backlog - but don't want to have to double up on the complete series box if Part 2 suddenly goes out of print. It'll look weird on my shelf.

Part 1 and Part 2 are Collector's Edition so I recommend you get Part 2 via All the Anime's shop since it's on a good offer.

Are the discs for Part 1 & 2 of Bebop faulty? I haven't got round to watching the sets yet since i bought them but seeing that there'll be replacement discs makes me think theres parts that needed re-doing like on the Durarara set.

All the discs in Part 1 & Part 2 have the faults that have been found by various people. The replacements will happen very soon:

Replacement Blu-ray discs for the Collector’s Edition:

As promised, these will be made available when the complete collection (amaray edition) is released. We’re working on setting up a form for those who are looking for replacements. Once this is ready and available, we’ll post an update and tell you how to go about getting them.

Nothing particularly amazing on the schedule (surprised The Advent isn't listed on there).

But there's a lot of great titles for those who can't import though, also surprised Karneval is getting a Blu-ray.

Oh, and Funimation is releasing Hyperdimension Neptunia this winter.

So Gargantia is listed for September? I don't honestly see Manga getting it out then.
Viz haven't even announced it yet, and there always seems to be massive gaps between Viz and everyone else releasing the same title. At least it gives me an idea as to when I should be able to import their release.
Overall the Q3 schedule it pretty underwhelming to be honest.

Kaze. You may as well just Import Viz's version. It works by pressing the top menu and has a bunch of extras which, much like the second film, Kaze probably won't bother to include.

Haha I wasn't really going to get the Kaze release. I've banned Kaze titles from being part of my collection after the dozen screw ups they've done. I just want to see what happens if BBFC get involved with the title.

There's Anime Central and MomoCon where Viz will be doing some panels. Their announcements for Blood Lad, Coppelion and Gargantia should be shown then.

YESSS!! Funimation has High School DxD New for home release, though we'll have to wait til early 2015.

In case you're wondering, HDxD is one of my favourite guilty pleasure shows. :p I know one of you hates the main character.
