Just Passing Through said:With Lain, and Shana, they took the Funi discs and redid the subtitles from scratch, hence the sync issues, but they are the Funi discs. I can only assume they'd do the same with Black Lagoon, so dual layer discs, hopefully unlocked subs, and the DVD extras.
Here's their Facebook post where they announce the Black Lagoon combo packs

When you say redid the subtitles, what did they actually do to them?
Just Passing Through said:Dannielle said:... I hope someone picks up Serial Experiments Lain for UK BD release soon, might be temped to get that Funi release.
edit: wait, nope its 'A', gah.
Sony Universal have released it to Region B in Australia. EDIT Make sure you get the corrected version, the first release had out of sync subtitles.
They're doing the same for Black Lagoon and Roberta's Blood Trail in June if you don't want Khazi's release.

I hope they don't stretch themselves to thin/take on too much, would hate to see a company like AL try to take on far too much and then crash and burn because of it. Fingers crossed if they do expand that it's at the right pace and with the right titles, we need them in the UK market.
Already there, just not yet publicly - we have the rights to some cool shows there such as Attack on Titan. Not really draining our efforts as I learned a lot from Beez / KAZE and we have a separate team working on the French market. Ensures focus of marketing, production and development are addressed.
Small teams of 3-4 per territory is smarter than 6-8 people in one territory with no real understanding of how others work.
Hope this puts minds at ease somewhat!
Best,
Andrew
Just Passing Through said:Encoded them themselves. I don't know why, it seems like a pointless exercise. Maybe they wanted a different font or something. The subtitles on their Haibane Renmei release are different from the Madman/Geneon subs, but they do release their DVDs as NTSC, not PAL conversions.

Likewise. Funnily enough just rewatched the first series of Haganai yesterday
I suspect this means the second series of Highschool DxD is in the pipeline too...

I'm trying to figure out AnimEigo's backer forum right now (it's even deader than this place though, which seems odd). I think there's going to be voting for premium backers to decide what exactly goes in the set. Or there already has been - Hopefully not though, I want to make sure it gets better packaging than a cheap orgasm-card.Professor Irony said:Have they finalised what's in the set yet? Reading through the kickstarter updates, I'm confused as to what's actually on that third disc.
