The General Conversation Area

I always dismissed Epcot somewhat but I'm always shocked when we go there and don't give it enough time at all. It's still a very busy and entertaining park. Japan has like a Ghibli exhibit or something there now.

Studios and Animal Kingdom are quality as well. Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios is magic - pure magic. Aerosmith and Tower of Terror are also awesome there. Animal Kingdom is just... epic. The rides are fun, Destination: Everest was brilliant and stuff but there's so much at that park its kick ass.

Been to the water parks?

I too dismiss Epcot... but then with all the better options, who'd be suprised?! =P

I've done all the water parks too... well Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach and Atlantis anyway. All good for seperate reasons allthough I'd have to say that Typhoon is the best.

I was gonna say I prefer Blizzard was. lol. I haven't been to Atlantis, where's that? I went to the SeaWorld one, Aquatica, which was, imo, probably beats all the Disney ones.

Sorry not Atlantis, I meant Aquatica.

Tbh Blizzard and Typhoon were very similar anyway. What I prefered about Typhoon was being able to go swinning with the sharks and fish in the lagoon pool. Was just different... not quite a coral reef but fun.

I probably would have enjoyed Aquatica more if I'd been less knackered. Went there towards the end of my theme park session and so was not diggin the ques so much. ¬_¬

Yeah, Blizzard is definitely more of a "ride" park. Both fantastic, but I get that. It all depends on the day your there (you could be in the packed one, the other one empty).

And.. that's disappointing. lol. I liked the idea of this Atlantis park.

Has anyone here purchased anime from "zoverstocks" before?
I have noticed they're selling a second-hand DVD collection on Amazon Marketplace for a suspiciously low price, and my better judgement is fighting against the sheer allure of the deal.

Indeed i have, its legit don't worry. i bought Kino's journey (attached pics). Its a really good seller, infact i've ordered from them today. They have prompt service.

Usually receive items a day or two before the first estimated date.(the prices below include £1.80 or 50 P&P)

Most of their anime is under a quid.

It is the instant result that hooks people with scratch cards. The feeling that "maybe this next one will win", of that "there must be a big winning one soon". They give a feeling of certainty that one will win eventually. Statistically on scratch cards you will win 25% to 30% of what you invest.

Wow, is it really that low? I mean, the theoretical figures for virtual roulette machines are in the mid 90%s, and and regular AWPs in the low-mid 70%s (obviously in practice people don't play them "perfectly", but still), very surprised to hear that it's less than 50%.

All scratch cards from the National Lottery company have the odds of winning a prize printed on the back in the small print. On a typical £1 card this is between 1:4.3 and 1:6. The vast majority of winning cards get you £1, with the next tiers being £2, £5, and £10 in increasing rarity. This is how I reach my conclusion.

The only comparatively safe way to gamble is single-deck blackjack when the site offers a bonus amount of money for free to gamble. With the correct guide you can push the win odds to an relatively consistent average of about 49%, therefore if you pay in £10 and they give you £100 free to gamble with, you'll be making a sure profit. Of course, this only works if they offer a sign-up bonus, and only once per site, so it is just a quick once-off easy money, not a way to get rich.

Oh, and there is card counting, again for single-deck blackjack. It is like the above, except you have to remember which cards have gone so you know which ones are statistically more likely to be next. Not an easy trick, but people who have done it in casinos have become multi-millionaires. Then they were banned. ^^; As a result, most casinos use multiple decks for blackjack, so that card counting will not work.

Class dismissed. ^^;

Oh, I know they have to have it printed on in some form or another, I'd just never checked what it was. I did believe you. :)

And there is no safe way to gamble - if you don't stand to possibly lose money, then it isn't a gamble any more! :p

Mut, have you seen the Louis Theroux documentary on Vegas and Gambling? It's brilliant. I was pretty amazed but not shocked when I saw how the casino's treated their addicted. They give them bags of cash, and they use loads of their own. They keep up some faux sense of security and treat them like friends so they will never get into serious danger... gambling all their millions.

Guys, you're forgetting that people don't use reason when gambling. It's an irrational hope thing, more akin to prayer.

"I wish I didn't have to worry about money any more, please deliver me from this, oh National Lottery, my saviour"

Also like prayer, it's pure coincidence when answered and only happens in one out of every several million cases, proving conclusively there is no God worth praying to.

Morning all,

Funny you should mention prayers and god and likelyhood of them being heard. I was reading a book the other day (ather funny) called:Observations ona life not yet observed: Mildy amusing thoughts in the form of essays, by Scott Douglas. I recommend you read it Ayase, full of true life events that are rather humourous and yet believable, some of it is just plain weird though.

The author has a theory that due to the mobile phone giving off radio waves. (he goes into details, bringing up how many radio waves a radio band is, and how many a mobile has hundreds into thousands more) his theory is that due to the radio waves our phones give off. Its making an electric/radiation barrier that filters prayers, that the best time to pray and manage to get your prayer heard would be between 1:57 and 3am lol

Ofcorse he's merely taking the mick, but to the extent that he goes just to prove a point is actually hilarious. Other parts of his life include working in a library, watching and trying to stop two girls fighting over a boy….then later that week seperating two grown women from fighting, each account describing his thoughts on the matter and how deranged people can be. - how its perfectly acceptable to say "we'll take this outside" as if fighting in a library is sacreligous, but fighting in the street is normal. Howsetting an example doesn't always mean its the right example. Very funny actually :p

I guess my favourite memory from his past would be the TV incident. Living a year without a tv, later to go into a superstore and talking about mental games they play to get people to buy more. Intended to spend only $800, later to spend $1,200 merely because of the bigger screen and the way the tv's where placed in the store to give you a taste of what you could have. and pricing 42inch screens and 50inch so close that it makes more sense to the buyer to buy the larger of the two, commercial brainwashing. This book might be right up your street.

Anyway, just one day to kill till the weekend :)

Mornin chazzy chaz,

I'm fine thanks, just sat reading. Thankfully my 2 days on call this week will pay for the monday i had off and alittle more :) I'm owed alot of money next week but until then…I've got to somehow balance £120 around. Hoping I won't get a craving to buy anime mech from this place in milton keynes on Saturday….just so tempting lol. What've you been upto with your time off so far?

Dig-dig, chop-chop, dig-dig, chop-chop... Lumberjacking my dead tree stump. Also a few things around the house. Ironing my laundry today (mountains...)

Also gonna sort out my car insurance today, as I've got until 19th, but best sort it before the busy week ahead. And I have been getting busy lately, especially wednesdays... *Flop*

What's this place in Milton Keynes?

It’s a random stall in one of the corners, he sells anime merch, bags, wallets, evey zanpakto letter openers. I basically wander round it everytime I go to MK. Never seem to have any spare money to buy stuff though….i’m putting money aside especially to get some things though.

Which takes me onto another bargain I’ve just found. I just went into the new bigger poundland in Luton’s Mall, Get backers volumes (anime) for £1. and speed grapher for £1, so picked up a few copies :p their expecting more aswell. So it looks like another shop I can saunter round on my lunch break lol

Wise to do today what you could put off till tomorrow. your car insurance should be low, being over 21 an all.

Have you ever been to MK?
