The General Conversation Area

I had my share of firefox issues lastnight stu, when I first installed avast it wouldn't let me register, everytime I pressed the register button I'd freeze, not really a problem as the months coverage it provided would last until the day before I went on holiday. That was back in July the 8th. Lastnight i went on the laptop and saw that it had expired, thought i'd upgrade it....wasn't having it, so had to uninstall and reinstall the bloody thing, whilst running a disk defrag and browsing the web.

However, as my avast was uninstalled (it was out of date anyway) but my firefox started refusing to open web pages. even Google.co.uk was unavailable, so I thought It could be because avast was down. Reinstalled the bloody program again (this time it let me register) and firefox still had problems. tried the "delete all history/cookies/remembered information" approach, wasn't having it. So downloaded the latest upgrade of firefox (not the beta) and its now fine…but wants my adobe flashplayer to update….adobe's website was down lastnight ¬___¬ more fun and games eh. Was hoping to sit and watch a film lastnight, ended up staying up till 1.30 talking to ryo and arby. then couldn't get to sleep till 2am....had to make my own way into work today. Hoping the gf will pick me up after work.....saves me spending money to go see her :p (which isn't tight fisted when you think that i'm actually seeing her tonight, all day wednesday, then at a house party with her that night, then friday night till late aswell)

Anyway, I'm in a really mellow mood, was sat listening to frank sinatra most of lastnight, woke up and was singing "crazy little thing called love" on my way to the busstop, Been listening to buble all morning, also managed to avoid on call tonight :) alls cool in Tachi-land.

Looking online for jobs....i've found a job in northampton working for a HR dept, its a £5,000 drop in wage....not worth even considering.
Looked at a PA role, its £30k so not a bad sum really.
Saw the same job that i do here but also in luton, working for a company outside of the NHS, earning more money... I'm tempted to apply, hell if i can do the same thing for more money, it makes sense to atleast apply. with going on 4 years of experience within this place, responsibilities and efficient working patterns that give me more time to do other things, i'm sure it'd be simplez to get it..... but do i jump ship before this dept moves to hertfordshire? or do i stay in luton and get more money...but have to commute myself every morning? Hmmm,

no one has some damn sense to bring in some poker chips

A lot of people play for coppers in my 6th. You could try that, until the school go **** on you and tell you it's against the rules.

Just play some other game bar poker. We've been playing ******** lately. I wish the morons who bring in the cards spent more time learning the rules to card games, as opposed to fancy shuffling techniques, though.
we used to play ******** quite alot as well, along with Chinese Snap, Blackjack and a few others

but now half of our group can't be ****** to play card games anymore, and even when we do, people can't be arsed after the first 2 or 3 rounds

******** is either really boring or mind numbingly frustrating, most people i play with now don't actually call ********, which means very easy wins, no challenge, but i remember playing it with one kid and he just called ******** all the time because he knew exactly what everyone had, the result was that the game got absolutely nowhere

it's as if there was some divine force that is making me bored enough that i'd actually work at school, hardly suprising

Ah that sucks man. Sounds like you have a pretty crappy sixth, really. Ah well, at least the work will pay off one way or another. My sixth is pretty boring at the moment. Cards have been abandoned now, so it's just sitting there rewatching movies a million times.

lol don't worry Stu, i used to let things computer related really wind me up, the worst part would always be lag that drove me up the wall.

Thankfully with age comes wisdom, and i have been blessed with the patience of a saint when it comes to technology. (can't promise that for everything else that might be abit annoying) So it only took about an hour or two to fix all problems and get it running again.

Lastnight was fun, went round kayls house and watched tv, helped put cayden to bed (dunno why, might be because i'm usually so laid back when it comes to trying to put kids to sleep) but all it took was for me to lift the little guy up onto the sofa and onto my knees, talk to him about things and then he gave me a hug, and blankly fell asleep. (i've had this happen to me more times than i care to admit to, baby/toddler drool isn't nice)

I'm sat happily here. Borderline awake, its dark outside and nobody has turned on the big light (a cookie for anyone who knows about the big light reference) so I'm sat having a look online, balanced the books for now…but with only £20 left, going to a £12 free bar tonight, going out with kayls tomorrow, then were off to a house party where i will need to bring drink and have taxi money..... in total i need £40 not £20......ARGHHH THE BIG LIGHT JUST GOT TURNED ON. Goodbye sleepy darkness...

Bob marleys on the radio, guess that makes the world right again :) I'm seeing today as a Friday, then Thursday as payday then Friday is Friday :)

One fears this permutation of weekdays would lead to undesirable complications. Unless restrictions are enforced, Tuesday could occur during a weekend. The bins of many clueless citizens would remain unemptied!

I don't know whether to be amused or scared:
