That sounds quite painful and very infuriating when you first tried to type afterwards. How much of your finger did you lose?

Just back to the cuticle of the nail - the doctor did some plastic surgery on the finger tip and was able to preserve the cuticle, so I still have a nail but it kind of curls around the tip of the finger now. My finger is kind of pointy-shaped, so it's good for picking boogers out of my nose at least, lol! :p j/k!

Weather/work update: weather is, slightly better. Still not warm enough to get rid on the snow, I still feel like quitting this butcher shop as they want us in all weekend in these conditions

Under my fave star wars hoodie, I wear my "all you need is manga" shirt. no one can tell I'm a massive otaku nerd

Edit: I just realised that's like having a nerd wrapped in a geek

How much snow do you have there now? I love to go out driving in about 3-4 inches of show, I love practicing my "drifting" skills without wearing all the rubber off my tires, lol... Love sliding sideways around corners in the snow. The only thing I don't like about driving in the snow are other people who are still out driving when they get scared stiff just seeing a couple snowflakes falling.

Some of the roads aren't that bad, most important ones have been gritted, but in some areas that collect the wind there are snow dunes as big as me

Correct! And they did it in spectacular style... by replacing my first name with the corrected surname, and leaving the incorrect surname intact.

*massive facepalm*
Wait... so you have the same forname as surname? They’re just spelled differently? I dub thee Neil Nlie!

Seriously though, how could they be that stupid? I get you can click the wrong box but when you’re correcting an error surely it’s sensible to yknow... check your own work is correct.

I saw this programme once (an episode of Watchdog or something) that showed some of the DVLA's best blunders. This included a licence with an expired date earlier than the "valid from" date, and another with "Untied Kingdom" as the country. How???

The makers of the programme took this woman who'd been battling unsuccessfully for months to get an issue with her licence fixed directly to the DVLA office in Swansea, and it got sorted in no time. When a spokesperson was asked why there didn't seem to be any coherent system in place for fixing mistakes like that, he replied "Because we don't make mistakes."

!!!!

Haha. I like the untied kingdom one, it’s true, we’re all falling apart!! As for the expiry date being before the valid from that’s just.... how???

That guys only mistake was not admitting to mistakes, where humans are involved mistakes happen. Everyone knows it.

The latest update to Google Translate now includes handwriting, so I've been practicing writing my name:

Now I understand the weird pronunciation of Simon in Gurren Lagann. The first character is Shi and I guess the English dubbers just kept it the same as the Japanese dub.
