The General Conversation Area

It was a friend who first taught me the moves of the pieces, and then I started with a copy of Chess for Dummies out of the library.

It's so true what they say: that it's an easy enough game to pick up, but impossible to master.

I can well believe that to be fair, though there are Chess Championships; those people must be strategist extraordinaires!

I wouldn’t worry about it, this is their opportunity to throw hate our way is all...

Ah well, I guess it being the general conversation area and all; people don't have to really check all messages if they know it's just general chit-chat...

God, yeah. I mean, you try playing through games between grandmasters out of books, looking at the notes, and you think "They're thinking this far ahead?! How?!?"

I know right? I genuinelly would love to have that kind of mindset, but more often than not I was there trying too hard to work out my next move; you could practically see the cogs turning XD

This is a valid point.

I tend to forget about things like PM's on these things; It's been a while since I've been on any forums, plus, it's been so long since I've socialised, I get carried away...XD

I shall end my socialising here tonight though; time to hit the sack I think. It's been awesome as usual dudes, thanks for the laughs ^^ Take care and catch up soon ;) Goodnight!

I think you need to have a quite cold and mechanical mind to be really good at that game. I don't, and I wouldn't trade for it, to be bluntly honest.

True, I'll stick to my methods of sitting there for about half an hour whilst I ponder my next move! I enjoy it just for fun though to be fair; I was never one to take it seriosuly ;)

Anyway, take care Neil, and catch you again soon ;)
