Speaking of games, I actually kind of know how to play chess. I mean, I'm **** at it, but I know the basic rules of the pieces and stuff...I used to trounce my ex at it anyway!

Well, admittedly, it was virtual chess, so it "helps" you with suggestions as to where the pieces can go, but I did pick up a little bit of strategy; I'm no expert though. I always seemed to either checkmate, or it was a draw, and I used to say, "don't let me win, play to win" to which the reply was, "I am, I am!"

Yeah, my ex taught me the basics, and I just picked it up the more I played, and I actually enjoyed it to be honest; always pegged it as a "boring game for geeks" but, hey, if it makes me a geek then so be it! ^^ I know there's expert strategies and stuff, but I know the basic movements of the pieces and stuff, and I learned to try to anticipate the opposition. I'm a stubborn b**ch though, and even when I knew it would be a stalemate I'd just end up dancing around the board XD

It was a friend who first taught me the moves of the pieces, and then I started with a copy of Chess for Dummies out of the library.
It's so true what they say: that it's an easy enough game to pick up, but impossible to master.
