Of these I really enjoyed the Persona Dancing games, Yo-Kai Watch 3 (4 when?), Oninaki, Astral Chain and Persona Q 2. I especially like how much Persona Q 2 developed the Persona 5 cast. It's a shame Royal doesn't seem to have taken advantage of that.

Biggest disappointment was Life is Strange 2, as evidenced by having not played more of it! Something happens in Episode 2 that killed all my enthusiasm for it, so just haven't gotten back to it despite owning the rest of it.

Also rather late on this, but as some folks probably noticed already I finished less games in 2020 than I did in 2019.

One of the main reasons is due to University but the other is actually because the games I had been playing were larger than the usual playtime. There were a lot of RPGs played throughout 2020, but it was worth the visit because they were games I should have played years ago. Only three games in the list were brand new in 2020; Final Fantasy VII Remake, DOOM 64 current-gen edition, and the Kingdom Hearts III ReMIND expansion.

2021 was a pretty decent year for my gaming progress. I was able to complete 38 games, though it was below the goal that I was aiming for which was 40.

That said, we got a good selection of titles played throughout the year, many of them were from my 2017-2018 backlog which was something that I wanted to prioritise whenever I could.

So what sort of games did we have in the 2021 completion list? Well we got a good mix of everything. Retro games with the God of War PSP games and the Sly Cooper HD Trilogy, plus platformers like the MediEvil remake and the Ratchet & Clank Future saga. Then we have genres that I don't usually tackle like horror with SIREN BLOOD CURSE, on-rail shooters with Gal*Gun Double Peace and Time Crisis: Razing Storm collection, and a 'fanservice, volleyball & casino' combo with Dead or Alive Xtreme 3. The biggest achievement is probably finishing GOD EATER Resurrection and GOD EATER 2 Rage Burst because those games were padded and long.

We started off the year with Yakuza 6: The Song of Life on PlayStation 4 and concluded with Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PlayStation 5. Other notable highlights include the solid JRPG remaster Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, JRPG Vita remake
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1, music rhythm fun Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, really enjoyable Action Dating Sim reboot Sakura Wars, excellent visual novel 428 Shibuya Scramble and tactical RPG that somehow got no perma deaths with Valkyria Chronicles Remastered.

As you can see, I played some pretty big classics with Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XII as well as games like Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, .hack//G.U. Last Recode, Tales of Xillia 2, Yakuza Kiwami 2, Ys Origin, and Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana.

For 2022, I would like to try and finish 52 games. I currently have 113 games in the backlog, and there will be more because I want to ensure I have access to the games I want to play rather than miss out.

...zero Bigg Proper Video Games in 2021 but I did play the hecc out of some app games on my iPad and had a crack at Stardew Valley Maybe by the end of 2022 I will have finished one whole video game! Was a bit sad that some of the ones I was playing on Steam on my Mac are no longer compatible with the OS, and that only decreases the chances of me ever finishing any of them

I've compiled all of what I've written on this forum via my blog across the Part 1 & Part 2 posts.

That said, there were some pretty big highlights throughout. The most notable is probably Resident Evil HD Remaster, as that was a game that I did not intend to play due to the survival horror aspect of it. Other noteworthy games include Code Vein and Nioh Remastered, two very good souls-like games that did take up a lot of time but was very rewarding (Nioh's DLC expansions will be considered as a separate completion entry just like Kingdom Hearts III ReMIND was), as well as the Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth sequels to wrap up that long-awaited Vita trilogy (with Platinums for each of them), the classic Prince of Persia HD Collection for that PS2 retro kick, the ambitious and interesting Super Robot Wars V, and my favourite new game of the year being God of War Ragnarok which I put more time into than the 2018 game.

Many of the games played were pretty long in length which I suppose was a factor on why I didn't complete as many as I wanted. And yes the backlog has grown but that gives me more choice to play next. There's 139 PlayStation games plus 12 Nintendo Switch games and 2 that I plan to play on PC unless they get brought over to consoles.

I think my goal for 2023 will be to beat my current record which is about 38 so I'll put the target to 40! That should be more realistic than before (I wanted to do 52 but due to anime and work that wasn't possible, unless the games were shorter in length).
