Overseas The Discotek Media Thread (plus AnimEigo)

Digimon the Movies available for purchase again, will now ship to the UK too

I managed to pre-order this when it was available before. It's only ~1.20 USD more for priority shipping too, which is suggesting it'll arrive on Dec 20th in the UK, which is pretty good if that is the case.

I'm glad I didn't have to go down the Stackry route just for one Blu-ray.

Bubblegum Crisis will now get a 2-disc BD re-release from Animeigo, this time with lossless audio and added extras. There will be an upgrade program for people who bought the original single-disc lossy audio release.

Also Nasu: Summer in Andalusia.

My first Discotek order from Crunchyroll is currently out for delivery in Nashua. Does anyone have a rough idea of how long it takes for the package to show up on the Stackry website after being delivered?

Not taken long with me in the past. Stackry will email you when they've got it with pictures of the box and with it on scales showing the weight.

More about the new Bubblegum Crisis release, and how to get a 50% discount if you have the previous release.

Discotek sale is back on Crunchyroll's Store. They tend to run these before the big sales start and I ordered 11 more titles across three franchises.

Now I do recommend taking advantage of this sale if you're after any older releases, because they tend to reveal the next batch of out of print titles not long after one of these, like last year. I'm about 20-30 releases away from being in a safe position where I can tone down my catch up on Discotek.

Forgot to post the latest disc checks for the Discotek titles I've picked up since September. Now most of these are unfortunately Region A Locked with no alternate methods to bypass them, but may be handy for those who need it. I didn't test any of City Hunter since all of them are Region B compatible anyway so we know about those.

To recap, there are two methods tested - traditional top-menu i.e. on PS5, and Panasonic top-menu method (pressing Stop, then Top-Menu afterwards).

Having recently ordered a slew of Discotek titles using discounts and store deals I’m not sure if I’ll jump at any this time around, good for those with more titles to get though.

Recently I ordered some Discotek releases using a 15% coupon I found online. With that, they were slightly cheaper than the prices in the sale (and as far as I know they don't stack). And that worked with pre-orders as well. Got Gorg for $32.

It's worth having a look for these coupons outside of sales.

Was that the "CRNEW" code? If so, I used that one as well. Unfortunately, it appears to be a one time use kind of thing, for first orders only.

I haven't been able to find any other working codes.

I did use CRNEW... on my second order 🥴

There was another one I used a couple of weeks ago for my third order (it wouldn't let me use CRNEW again) but can't remember what it was. Don't think any codes will work for the time being even if there are active ones due to the sale items.

I set up a new CR account (as I don't want to disturb my old RightStuf account until the Dirty Pair is sent), and ordered the following with my Dirty Pair 20% off voucher:

Sherlock Hound Blu-ray $36.38, Urusei Yatsura - OVA Series Collection - Blu-ray $20.78, Riding Bean - OVA - DVD $6.39, Vampire Princess Miyu OVA DVD 2 $5.59, Vampire Princess Miyu OVA DVD 1 $5.59, Galaxy Express 999 Blu-ray $15.58

Some were added to bump it up to free US postage. Couldn't add the UK to my billing address as it didn't exist in the CR database, so it will be interesting to see if the payment does go through with Stackry as the address.

The Discotek sale seems to be 35% off the MSRP, which, according to some online spaces, isn't much different from their regular prices.

I think I will wait for Cyber Monday to pick up some stuff on my list.

Does anyone who ordered new Animeigo releases direct from MediaOCD recall how long they took to dispatch? Ordered something Monday and no movement as yet. Don't want to pester them if that's normal.

Unrelated: I can't wait for Bubblegum Crash. It's been so long since I watched it that I remember literally nothing. I'll order with the new Crisis set using my 50% voucher. It'll be great to retire the old set with those awful multi-coloured subtitles.

My two recent MediaOCD orders dispatched within a few hours of ordering and took a few days to reach my Stackry address after that.
