The Anime/Manga I Bought Today Was...

Well despite all my complaining I placed my one (and only) order of the AtA sale using the 10% off code:

-NieA_7 Collector's Edition
-Full Metal Panic: Invisible Victory Collector's Edition
-Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Stargazer CE
-Boogiepop Phantom Collector's Edition
-Patlabor Trilogy Collector's Edition Bundle
-Future Boy Conan 4K Collector's Edition Bundle

Still devastated that I missed Nadia while I was at work. It was the thing I wanted most this year. 😭

That's the German release. Some Crunchyroll discs are pressed for multi-national release, this looks like one of them. I'd expect the physical discs have the UK ratings logo on them, but the packaging is for the German market.

It does seem odd, however. Officially, I'm pretty sure CEX can only sell Blu-rays/DVDs with BBFC ratings on them, but I gather some stores do not always obey this, as I have seen a few imports in store before.

If that packaging is for the German market, then the barcode wouldn't show up in CEX's system when being traded in (I think); so I suspect a staff member has just accepted it in.

Thanks for the info appreciated,
Yeah it does look like it has uk rating on the disk inside - and I'm assuming the uk release is different, the outer packaging is in english to this then?
i will have to send this back and get the uk edition from amazon instead now
I didnt think cex could sell foreign copys never had this before

When i scan it on there website it doesn't show up from the barcode and and the bku ray case is thinner then the average uk case so idk how this slipped through

Pre-ordered Attack on Titan: The Final Season - The Final Chapters (LE) from AOL.

I was going to pre-order the AOT S1 - S3 steelbooks but I'll get them in the new year as I have spent a lot this month already.

Is free international shipping a thing now through Amazon UK? I placed an order for the US release of Is The Devil a Part-Timer, which is sent via Amazon.com through Amazon.co.uk, and there’s free shipping as a special offer, about £7.50 waived.

From my experience, the Amazon UK price for US products, seems to be the Amazon US price + VAT included just in GBP.

I usually compare paying for the product between the UK and US site, at checkout, to see which would be cheaper.

As far as I'm aware, the English cover is on the set itself but as a reversible. For UK/FR distribution, the front cover of the Amaray is English but the reversible is the German cover, whilst for German distribution they flip it around. You're also missing the slipcase which is due to CeX likely tossing it out.

I never liked that model which is why I imported the titles that had that layout but they did eventually modify the multi-language titles from The Legendary Hero is Dead (April 2024) onwards where its just like a regular release with French text here and there with no tampering and the German version is the same but for their market.

Ordered from Sentai:
Cutie Honey Universe - Complete Series (Blu-ray)
Gushing Over Magical Girls - Complete Series (Blu-ray)
Kase-san and Morning Glories - Complete Series (Blu-ray)
Needless - Complete Series (Blu-ray)
Say 'I Love You' - Complete Series (Blu-ray)
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky - OVA (Blu-ray)

I ordered 6 more Blu-ray titles in Crunchyroll's Season of Savings Sale last night, just a few hours before the sale ended, including 3 Aniplex titles in order to get some discount on them... with their Buy More Save More offer, I got $45 off my $250 order, which stacked on top of my 15% Ultimate Fan discount for the non-Aniplex titles. I also got a free Crunchyroll pin with my order:

By the time I made my order on the last day of the sale, I think more than 50% of the titles were OOS and listed On Backorder, and those were not included in the sale - so it was a struggle finding in-stock titles I wanted to get over the $250 mark.
