Spring 2015 Legal Anime Streaming Thread

I wish Viewster had an Apple TV app. Luckily I have an Amazon Fire TV Stick coming in a fortnight that has Viewster on so can watch through that. (They were £19 for PRIME customers)

I find the SMART section of my LG to be very sluggish.

Looked at the Apple TV too, as i have one here but alas. SMART is indeed rarely snappy and most also have a clumsy interface, hence why i always stayed away from it as far as possible ... viewing distance at least

I'm not that well versed with Viewster, so i'm kind of curious to know what style of business model they have? subscription, free to view?

It's free to view, but I believe they said they were looking into adding an subscription model later down the line.

Viewster will be streaming Fate/stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (2nd Half), Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation and Plastic Memories to various territories but not including the UK & Ireland.

Actually...

Huh, it was originally US & Canada. Glad I'm wrong.

I'm not surprised it was Viewster in the end, Anime Limited did add Gundam Reconguista in G to their service. Now if only Viewster got their app available for PS3, Vita and PS4.

NEW ADDITION:

Food Wars! (Shokugeki no Soma)
Site: Crunchyroll
Previously unavailable

Tweeny Witches (Mahou Shoujo Tai Arusu)
Site: Viewster
Previously unavailable

A 2003 magical girl show from Studio 4C, the show is actually 40 episodes long but there's 20 episodes with 2 per viewing. In addition Tweeny Witches: Alice Adventures (Mahou Shoujo Tai Arusu the Adventure) OVAs from 2007 are also included.

BLOCKED:

Blood Blockade Battlefront
Site: Funimation
Reason: Funimation of course.

And another one I was interested in. At least we'll eventually get Blu-Rays of the shows that Funimation license.
I thought Anime Limited might have gone for this series but they already have 3 simulcasts this season.

NEW ADDITION:

Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation
Site: Daisuki
Previously unavailable (to the UK), Crunchyroll are also simulcasting the series but only for US & Canada.

Daisuki saves the day once again, the show will also be available on YouTube.

I'd have been more surprised if Funi didn't pick up Blood Blockade Battlefront, seems like it had their name written all over it from the get go.

NEW ADDITION:

Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji Love Revolutions
Site: Crunchyroll
Previously unavailable

BLOCKED (from a specific location):

Plastic Memories
Site: Crunchyroll
Reason: Anime Limited have acquired the UK & Ireland simulcast rights and offering the show on Viewster

BLOCKED (from a specific location):

Blood Blockade Battlefront
Site: Daisuki
Reason: Unknown but Funimation picked up the rights and most likely have the UK & Ireland rights as well

Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works
Site: Daisuki
Reason: Unknown but Crunchyroll have the UK & Ireland simulcast rights

Nisekoi:
Site: Daisuki
Reason: Kaze have acquired the UK & Ireland simulcast rights and offering the show on Animax UK

Plastic Memories
Site: Daisuki
Reason: Anime Limited have acquired the UK & Ireland simulcast rights and offering the show on Viewster

Yeah, UK CR have a pretty poor showing this season - good that Viewster has picked up some of the stuff we could have been locked out of, but not entirely sure this fracturing of the market (and forcing people to watch ads when they're paying a sub fee elsewhere) inspires much confidence as a consumer.

Yes, I understand competition is sometimes healthy and these companies are trying to create a business - but it feels like the viewer loses out.

Could it be something along the lines of Funimation sell the UK streaming rights to Viewster, or they pick them the rights up themselves and it locks Crunchyroll out?
Who knows... These companies all want a piece of the pie sadly.

NEW ADDITION:

Hello!! KINMOZA (Hello!! Kiniro Mosaic)
Site: Crunchyroll
Previously unavailable

Sound! Euphonium (Hibike! Euphonium)
Site: Crunchyroll
Previously unavailable

Tesagure! 3 (Tesagure! Bukatsumono Spin-off Purupurun Sharumu to Asobou)
Site: Crunchyroll
Previously unavailable

BLOCKED:

Ultimate Otaku Teacher (Denpa Kyoushi)
Site: Funimation
Reason: Unknown but Funimation picked up the rights and most likely have the UK & Ireland rights as well

Funimation aren't even streaming kekkai and nagato yet.

They stated they have yet to receive the materials as far as I'm aware. This isn't the first time that something like this has happened.
