Jet Li 'Hero' - 3/10

While there were some good scenes in the temple the wirework was overdone and looked absolutely stupid. Wire's should be used to enhance ability not to make people fly around in 'slow motion' positivly goofy. I did like how the film was arranged though and the ending but out of context the story didn't mean as much to me. I feel I need to have more knowledge of the history to really understand the characters.

Chicago - 9/10
~Fantastic musical, well deserving of the Best Picture Oscar, I think. Catherine Zeta Jones is fantastic!

The Departed - 9/10
~Another fantastic movie. Great performances from all, except maybe Mark Wahlberg who seemed to be forcing his character. It was hard to follow at times, too, but ultimately it was supremely entertaining. And I expect nothing less from Martin Scoresse.

I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry - 6/10
~Meh. Nice message, but not particularly funny. Adam Sandler is incredibly irritating, as is usual.

Knocked Up - 8/10
~Great comedy. Really enjoyed it!

... And now you're all up to date on what I've watched over the past week! :p

Golden Ninja Warrior 3/10

Found this on a 'Hollywood' cut-n-paste DVD that I realised I'd owned for about two years, yet still hadn't watched because.... well, it looked positively wank.

Finally watched it earlier tonight, and sweet f*cking Jesus-- worst kung-fu movie ever. EVER.

The only reason I gave it a three is because of the unintentional humour involved (continuity being the big 'en), where the protagonist (from what I could tell), literally gains no more than a few stone during the feature. Crazy.

I can't be sure, but I swear he different footage from other films to drag this one on...

Download it folks, it has to be seen to be believed.

Clerks II - 7/10

It being (I think) my only Kevin Smith film, I've ever seen. It was pretty good. I just feel that I have a lack of knowledge since Jay and Silent Bob were in it and the fact that I haven't seen the original makes me lack some of the laughs that I would get from it. I think I'm going to have to check out Kevin Smith's backlog now and see where it all began because as of now - I feel the film was a very clique thing for a outsider to his films such as myself to "get it". ;p

Good film all the same though.

Clerks II - 7/10

Yeah the original is a must watch, and is a lot better tbh. I found the second film felt a bit more forced than the first, whereas the original felt natural in its humour and progression.

Anyway

The Prestige - 9/10

Easily one of the best films I've watched in the past 6 months. Christian Bale again gives an awesome performance (going hand in hand with Batman Begins, The Machinist and Equilibrium making him of now one of my favourite actors about) and Hugh Jackman really impressed me, especially since I dislike him as Wolverine.

Great story and visual effects with some good casting including the legend that is David Bowie along with Andy Serkhis scarlett Johansson and michael Caine!!

30 Days Of Night 7.5/10

I have read the comic so sort of knew what was comming. It was a little slow to start but not too bad, the vampires are pretty true to the comic and different from most you see in films. There is some gore however it is not over the top (maybe a little more would have been better), but I think what lost it for me was it was not violent enough the vampires in the comic are really quite savage.

Nice bonus from Sony or the R1 disc though is the first episode of Blood+, I wonder if they might start doing this more often when the main film is in the same genre as one of their anime titles.

Clockwork Orange - 8/10

Seen this before, years ago, and to be honest although it IS a great film; the whole thing didn't seem as great the second time around, though it was a good watch, definitely.

Run Fat Boy Run 7/10

Had some funny moments, but the film as a whole isn't anything spectacular. Its the kind of film you'd probably just rent out for a laugh one evening to never watch it again.

Black Sheep 7/10

Not exactly a good idea for a horror, sheep mutating and killing people but extremely funny, a real laugh out loud film that people should really go and see.

The Mist 10/10

The 10's just for the ending, seriously the ending was AMAZING, the rest of the film was fairly good.

Decided to rewatch the matrix series; but because I only own the original on VHS(and have watched it countless times) I skipped it.

Animatrix - 8/10

Some really good shorts here: The last Renaissance Parts 1 and 2, Detective Story, Beyond and World Record are all top notch, and teh rest ain't bad either.

Matrix Reloaded - 8/10

I'll admit, I wasn't overly impressed when I first watched it back in 2003. The scenes with teh architect, the oracle and all those obnoxious, overly philosophical conversations about free will and choices.

However, probably due to being older, I actually enjoyed these scenes alot more. That coupled with the awesomeness that are the twins, the fight scene in the merovingians mansion and the chase make for a good nights viewing.

Demolition Man - 6/10 - a classic action flick set up but sometimes fails to deliver, although I do enjoy Stallone cast as a cave-man style pre-peace character

The Last Samurai - 10/10

Got bored yesterday at one point so I decided to put it on. Never fails to interest me and the final battle is god-like

Sukitomo - 6/10

I finally found a subbed version of this film :D Generally it was...ok.Sweet enough.Though nothing really happened.Doubt i'd watch it again but i've been wanting to see it for ages so i'm glad I got round to watching it.

Constantine - 8/10

Pretty good; even though I mostly hate Shia Labouef. Keanu is the man, and should have played Max Payn in my honest opinion. Great story, visuals, music and pretty much great everything.

Boys Love - 8/10

Really very good.Great acting (though I don't expect any thing less from Takumi Saito) and pretty decent plot.Much better then the previous 'boys love' film I watched (sukitomo)
