Itsuka no kimi e - 10/10

Oh god,seriously...this film? amazing! I just..can't form words haha I recommend it too everyone.

Diary of the dead 4/10
I love Romero films but this was just . . . well . . . err so bad its good (but not that good).

I think what im looking for is it's funny when it's not meant to be.

Kaza Hana - 8/10

Low budget but so well shot. A real nice, thought provoking and inspirational film. I'd definitely recommend it for those who like films that make you reflect on life.
Was shown at my local indy cinema The Showroom as part of the Japan Foundation film month trying to highlight contemporary Japanese culture not stereotypes.
Off to see Strawberry Shortcakes on thursday then Kamikaze Girls on Saturday.

Hitman: 6.5/10

The usual spy type of film: All action, hot woman and no substance. Not nearly enough effort was made in making Number 47 a deep character.

Michael Clayton: 5.5/10

Boring and uneventful.

Hey, I've seen that too. Didn't expect one here in this forum to be watching that.

I'd rate it 8/10

I think I could make an argument for 8/10 too, depends how generous I'm feeling on any given day. I think it's an important film for people to watch, the Brazilian favelas do not look fun. I tried it out because I want to watch more world cinema, and Cidade de Deus (City of God) was an excellent film, so I wanted to see what else Brazil had to offer.

I've got Cidade dos Homens (City of Men) to watch next, and then hopefully Ônibus 174 (Bus 174) after that, so there are still some good ones to come.

Run Fatboy Run - 6.5/10

I watched One Hundred and One Dalmations last night...

I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it. I enjoyed it thoroughly, more so than I did as a child. It's like some form of guilty pleasure, since I'm seventeen years old I'd try and pretend I barely care for Disney at all anymore... but I just can't lie to myself like that, I loved it. It actually made me laugh, I don't think I've laughed at an animated movie before, so it wins for that. It also wins for Cruella De Vil not being a generic villian who wants riches or to take over the world, she wants puppies mercilessly slain so she can wear them, pretty sinister if you ask me, of course, she isn't the one doing it, getting people to do it for her, even better!

8/10

Dead Man's Shoes - 8/10

A simple, yet very well made British revenge film.

This is England - 7.5/10

Another British film, directed by the same guy who did the other film. It failed to amaze due to the lack of any huge event, but it was very enjoyable to watch.

While very similar to American History X, it wasn't as well made... It could be described as a low budget version of it.

Planet Terror - 6/10 I liked the old drive in movie feel to thefilm but really isn't a film I'll watch again

Watched Strictly Ballroom today. It was fantastic, very funny at times, and it's the starting point for Baz Luhrman's brilliant "Red Curtain" cinema (highly stylised cinema with a heightened sense of, well, everything!) . Looking forward to watching Romeo + Juliet tomorrow :]

You lavender doily, you.

Just watched The Fly, with Jeff Goldblum (possibly my favourite actor), in it's awesome entirety.

Easily his best role, just because he plays the super intelligent scientist folks so well (Jurassic Park, ID4).

I remember watching this when I was about 5, and almost crapped myself, yet while simultaneously being decensitised.

Overall; 9/10

Sin City
It's amazing how much free time you have when you don't have access to the 'net...I finally sat down and watched this all the way through. Wow. Dark, violent and stylish as hell. Film Noir redefined.

9/10 easily. Not for the squeamish though.

Just to prepare you, it's best you know the truth: Romeo and Juliet die at the end. I cried with happiness when I watched the film many, many years ago.

No Country for Old Men - 8/10

While the Tommy Lee Jones parts of the film were pretty pointless, the guy who played Chigurh did a bloody brilliant job at being evil. A great film to watch.

Just watched Romeo + Juliet! It was brilliant. The visuals were fantastic, the acting was amazing, great music, too! I really can't fault it at all. 10/10

Baz Luhrmann can do no wrong in my books by this stage! :]

Once Upon A Time In America - 9.5/10

Never seen it fully before last night, and daaaaaaaaaaaamn it's awesome.

Best part = d00de get's shot in the eyepiece straight through the head.

It was ******* long though, and tended to many bathroom breaks and nosh intermissions.
