Why aren't you lot watching movies?!

Independence Day. 8/10.

I'm not sure if some parts should be seen as homages or copies, but nonetheless, it was fun through-and-through. The term "blockbuster" seriously means something to this movie! Nice one.

Spy Game - 5/10 (a horribly disjointed, dull and weak movie that is made bearable only by the charisma of it's leading actors - Redford and Pitt).

The Lord of the Flies (1990) - 8/10.

Eagle Eye 6/10 a good plot, great cast with Shia LaBeouf and Billy Bob Thornton and the pace is perfect but the story FAILS

basically a military super computer decides to kill the 12 people in charge of the US as they are responsible for the war, so this compluter controls jets, missles (which it uses to shoot at traffic rather than the white house), anything it wants and instead of just blowing them all up with one of these rockets it decides to plot an elaborate scheme involving blackmailing, threatening and killing lots of random people until they do what it wants..... pointless, oh and a schene were 2 people fall into liquid nitrogen and then just get out and continue fighting without dying was one step too far

Forgetting Sarah Marshall 7/10 Made my laugh out loud a couple of times like. Story line was obviously very familiar in the romantic comedy style genre. Must admit it did have it's moments and I have no compaints about the actors. The film was a breath of fresh air considering the last RomCom I watched was "The HeartBreak Kid", which was worse than pulling my scrotum skin over an open jar of angry wasps and doing the rumba. Yeah, you heard me.

Apocalypto - My brother has had this on DVD for a while now and after discussing it with some people decided to watch it. It was pretty good, actually, I didn't want it to end. "I AM JAGUAR PAW, THIS IS MY FOREST. I HUNT HERE WITH MY FATHER, AND MY SON WILL HUNT WITH HIS SON WHEN I AM GONE." 8/10

Sin City - Wanted to watch this for a looooooooong time, years possibly, finally watched it last night, I think I liked the John Hartigan segment the most. Though some parts did unintentionally make me laugh "He escaped from those ropes? But they're my specialty!" 9/10

Mushishi 8/10

Nice adaption of the manga and anime. It felt a little rushed at times to get the story in though, however the effects were very well done. Would very much like to see a second instalment. I was a little put back on it being translated as bug master even though that is about right.

"If you're hungry, have a piece of your friend. "

Doomsday - I've wanted to watch this for a while since it was the latest film by Neil Marshall and I thoroughly enjoyed Dog Soldiers [The Descent not so much, it was good, but it rubbed me the wrong way] so as soon as I got the chance I put it on... Whoa, needless to say it quite impressed me. Viruses are getting used a little too much these days as a source of a plot for a film, but this was done differently, very similar to Escape from New York/L.A. [Sinclair having an eye patch, possible reference to Snake Plisskin?] Once again no one was really spared, regardless of age or gender, it was quite the bloodfest and it satisfied me for the time being. I thought Sol's bitch would last longer than she did though. lol. Until next time. 8.5/10

10,000 BC - Never went the Cinema to watch it, and I was glad I didn't, it was good, ok, average, nothing really outstanding about it, decent watch. Very similar to Apocalypto, like... extremely similar but only for the first half. Some clichés that dissapointed me being used throughout it, but didn't destroy the movie. CGI prehistoric animals were pretty cool though, don't get any of them these days. 6/10

Burn after Reading - 6/10

I was disappointed with this one since it's a Cohen brothers film. It was vaguely funny in places but it never quite worked. The ending in particularly felt like it all amounted to nothing. That, and the tone jumped from Black comedy to generally nasty in a slightly clumsy manner.

Perhaps not a bad film, but personally it did very little for me.

V for Vendetta - 8/10

Awesome. Wasn't that gripping and I got a bit tired towards the end because of the very predictable ending; But, other than that it was great! The plot was awesome, but there were parts which they didn't explain much like the guy stephen fry plays - wtf was that about the photo's or something?! But, it still kept it's awesome-ness(?) because I liked the confusion in the film - Also, I thought it wrapped up the story nicely. The action and fight scenes were very cool, too!

I loved V for Vendetta. In the film it was illegal to have any form of history or art in your home and gay people were considered outcasts. Which is why Stephen Fry's Character had that hidden room with those pictures in along with other things. The pictures were classed as art but quite obviously homo erotic also which was a big no no.
Been meaning to read the Vendetta Novel actually. I heard it's quite good like.

Quantum of Solace - 6.5/10

A poor attempt at continuing directly from the end of the previous film. The story was hard to follow, it consistng of Bond chasing baddie after baddie with very little in the way of explanations, and the action was often far too frenzied to follow well.

What Dreams May Come 7/10
Not really my type of movie to be honest. It's a very sad film and I don't like things that tug at the old tear glands. I would have given it a 5 to a 6 but it made my misses cuddle up all weapy like. She looked so CUUTEE!! Therefore I gave it an extra bonus and boosted it to 7. =P

Meh, not as good as Casino Royale but it was alright. I prefer the new films to the terrible pierce brosnan ones. Instead of being an entirely new bond film it sort of seemed like a Casino Royale spin-off

Aw, I loved the Brosnan films! Though I suspect it has more to do with nostalgia than anything else. Tomorrow Never Dies is always fun to watch, though!

Me too. Even Die Another Die wasn't as bad as people seem to make it out as being apart from Halle Berry's irritating performance.

Silent Hill - 5/10 (rewatched when it was on TV)

As far as sound and vision goes it was fantastic with a great soundtrack and a terrific atmosphere. The story seemed too fragmented, the occult witch hunt thing got old quick with a lot of pointless scenes and some what I thought rather unconvincing acting for the most part. Still based on looks alone it was a visual treat and I'd watch it again just for the art direction.

As a side note the woman singing the theme at the end of the movie was Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (Motoko from Ghost in the Shell's voice). Really fantastic voice.

Disney's Tarzan 7/10 [In HD. ;D]

I was unsure if I had actually seen Tarzan, fully. It was good. The last movie in the Disney Renaissance, eh. Phil Collins songs were awesome, even if everyone knows "Two World's, One Fam-i-ly" - Or is that just me because of that Disney show in Animal Kingdom!

Thunderball - 8/10

A thorougly enjoyable and fun Bond movie. My only complaints concern how far fetched too many scenes were. Otherwise, it's great :]

Scar 3D - 3/10

Went to see it thinking the 3D Element would be interesting, ended up feeling like I was going to physically throw up. It wasn't scary, so much as an unadulterated gore fest. Everything was unjustified, acting was poor, script was ****, and the twists were visible from a mile away.

It gets 3 though because I got a pair of 3D glasses (so useful like..), got a fright during one of the trailers when an axe flew "out" of the screen, and because there was an argument started between these two girls, and two guys in the screening. It was amusing.

Rambo (4) - 8.5/10

Considering it's the 4th movie in an American action series, with an ancient lead actor, it was surprisngly good. The war and setting were handled realistically, meaning Rambo wasn't able to save everyone from being raped/killed and Rambo needed help. And it was nice that Rambo kept his top on - no-one wants to see Stallone's manboobs.

All in all, the best in the series...not that that was hard when, aside from the 4th, only the 1st is good.
