What an amazing film! Where do i even begin!?
Well first of all i watched this on blu-ray and i have to say that it looked marvelous! The first thing you'll notice of this film is the beautiful animation compared to that of the series. Everything was fluid and the backgrounds were beautiful. The animation wasn't bad or anything in the series, but you could tell it had a rather small budget. This obviously had a much larger budget. The film also uses CGI, which tbh wasn't all that bad. Zodd (who is CGI in this movie rather than being hand drawn like the series) Looked surprisingly pretty good.

The characters were still as likable as they were in the series. Guts and Griffith steal the show with Guts being a huge brute who kills anything that moves, Whereas Griffith is a quiet, calm and gentle but has something evil about about him. Seeing these two opposites interact with each other is fun to watch. The other characters are interesting to but there not as stretched out as Guts and Griffith so there kinda in the sidelines for the most of the film.

The action is also aplenty here, with there being amazing sword fights and mighty blood-fests! The fight with Zodd was also really entertaining.

The soundtrack is also fantastic here, with the music definitely fitting and complementing whats going on in the film. The intro was so good that i might even download it which i rarely do these days when it comes to anime.

Lastly this was really tense unlike the series. The scene when Guts Kills the man who tried and to kill Griffith, and afterwards kills his son was one of the most shocking scenes i've seen in a while in anime! Definitely one of the most shocking and amazing scenes i've seen due to the violence, music and cinematography!

The only bad things i have to say about this is that length is somewhat questionable and also leaves you wanting more. Also it could of focused on more characters of The Band Of The Hawk. But these are only minor nitpicks.

Overall This film CANNOT BE MISSED!!!! If your a fan on Berserk you really need to check this out! Even if you didn't think the series was all that (like me) Than there might be something here for you. HIGHLY recommended!

Lupin III: The Columbus Files (1999)
a.k.a. Fujiko's Unlucky Days

Despite apparently recycling its 'amnesiac Fujiko' storyline from the middle section of Farewell Nostradamus, this eleventh tv special was actually very enjoyable. The McGuffin is a bit confusing ("Your magic egg does what now?") and the wilting budget really lets the finale down, but the tone is spot-on and this is easily one of the funniest Lupin outings I've seen, no-doubt due to the presence of Nabeshin on the directing staff.

One of my fav gibli films it's a load of fun and a good awareness film.

Giant robo

No matter how many times I watch this series it gets better and better, the story's fantastic, and the characters are great, the animations great everything in this series is great but were left with a cliffhanger but it's fine that part wasn't the focus of the story.

Me and my mum watched this and it's a brilliant series, it doesn't have anything over powering in it like most series have but the animations, characters, story is just beautiful the animations look like a artiest made it. It's just a brilliant story, my mum said she like it.

I thought I was going to have something like perfect blue with this series you know the whole psychological this, at first it looked like it was going to be like that but the second half ruined that, this series was made by the same mind as death note you would of thought he would of put more thought in to this but tue first half is ok tho.

It a ok series but I was expecting something different

the mars daybreak

the series is rather generic, the characters don't have a lot of substance and i'm not a huge fan of mecha anime (with some exceptions).
so i'd probably give this an 8.5/10
why you may ask, because for all the reasons above really, the plot is generic, but the fast pace of which it happened and the characters while being insubstantial for the most part endeared me to actually anticipate what would happen next, the animation is good, although nothing to brag about, but atmosphere i got from the show was rather positive and helped keep me in high spirits, it is one of those mindless entertainment series for me, something that for all intents and purposes is only good not great, but happens to appeal to me, i also rather enjoyed the variety of the ships crew, although i would have to say vestemona (until near the end) and junior were rather grating.

the first half was thrilling and kept me in suspense, if it kept up like that i would have given it a 9, but then the second half happened and while entertaining as well, the contrast between the halfs rubbed me a little the wrong way, it was like there was a 6 episode story with no ending, then another 6 episode story using the same characters with no beggining, the animation was great and i enjoyed the female characters, although until the end of the series i thought the main male lead was a wanker, which i liked, he was a character who was stupid and irrational, which made him interesting to watch.
 
To Love-Ru: Darkness

More fun capers from Yuuki Rito and his harem, Momo really livened up this series. The plot was interesting, but didn't really go anywhere or get resolved - I'd guess a second series of Darkness is on the horizon, if BD sales are good.

Strawberry panic

This series is very very yuri, I have no idea why every single girl in these schools are yuri, it's like something at the school has turned all these girls in to liking other girls like pheromon or something.

The story is good with a few heart brakes there and there a few laughs there but this series is a romance series mostly * to which I'm not keen on * but it's alright, there was a few couple that I wished got together but didn't, its that complicated you want everyone to be happy.

I bet there a lobelia academy next door lol * ouran high school*

All in all it's not my cup of tea but it was alright

Ummm it's short lived, it was ok but like I said it was short liver, for a OVA that was made in the early 90s it was ok, it doesnt go In to depth with the story, in fact there no time for development it's just forced out, yeah you get a laugh there and there but it has a few references that was probably used for better series in later on series

Can't recall if the Anime covers it but the Novel essentially says it's the last chance for them to be free before they graduate to becoming dutiful wives. And given it's all girls and it's a boarding shcool that they spend years and years at it's perhaps not surprising it's a bit Yuri.

Xebec, go back and continue adapting the manga. Do it, or I will hurt you.

I am really enjoying the manga of this series (and thus I enjoyed the anime adaptation), not because of the ecchi harem content (bar of light anyway...) but because of the character development given to Yami, Mea and Momo during this series. I genuinely preferred the whole Yami-Mea thing to the rest of the series xD

AOD's subtitles need some work though...for all of their shows.

Junjo Romantica

I've been watching this series because I'm taking party in a the Golden Ani-Versary Project, covering anime from the year 2008. This is the first yaoi anime I've watched. There were certain parts that I did like, but the problem with this series was that it kept switching from the main relationship between Misaki and Usami to other minor characters. I would have prefered it if it had just stuck with them. Having said that, the senario between Misaki and Usami was at times funny and at times time heart-warming. I perferred the second series, especially the storylines concerning Usami's older brother and father.

Dragon age Dawn of the seeker

This movie is based off of the same name of the game.

The graphics are really good and some of the details are good too but sometimes they seem half assed but that's only a few scenes.

The characters have personalities iv seen before

The female lead hates mages because they murdered her family and brother and wants to kill them all but she ends up working along side a Mage and as you might of thought shes gets over her discrimination towards mages and falls for one.

The story is something iv seen before but I guess it's ok.

Grappler Baki: The Ultimate Fighter (OVA)

Didn't dissapoint. :)
Now its hard to compare this to the 2001 series, but i will admit that the animation was very good! The animation was good in the series but the animation in OVA was very good!
The highlights of the OVA was obviosuly the fight scene between Baki and Shinogi! It was bloody, amazing and fun to watch! I also thought it was interesting how Baki looked different compared to the series.

The only bad things i have to say is that it is FAR too short. It should have been at least and hour and a half. I also didn't like how there was no mention on Baki's father Yujiro. He plays a huge part in the manga, so why wasn't he included? and lastly, in the end, it leaves you wanting more, as if you wanna know more about the Baki Universe.

Overall, was definitely one of the better OVAs I've seen. If your into fighting and martial arts, than you need to check this out!
 
After Mike said he thought the film was something a 15 year-old would've written, I kept waiting for you to tell him that FotNS was originally a shounen manga targeted at middle/high school kids. His head might have exploded, FotNS-style, which would have been amusing.

I vote you make him watch the uncut version of Wicked City after Redline...
 
In hindsight, I really should have mentioned that - don't think I was firing on all cylinders this time round.

Wicked City though, oh boy... It might actually be quite an interesting one to do, seeing as Mike really liked Demon City. We've got a few of these filmed already, still waiting to go up, but I'll certainly add it to the list.
 
Wagnaria season 1

I can see why aceant likes this series soo much, it's cute and loads of fun to watch and gas alot of laughs, the characters are funny and I love them. The animation is like that of squid girl but not as up to date with squid girl.

I really like this series it's light hearted funny and loads of fun, I want season 2 of this,

Stein’s Gate 6/10
Overall I found this slightly above average. I was somewhat disappointed because when I was raving about Madoka in 2011 I was told that this was on par. I didn’t find that to be true at all. In terms of positives I liked the two protagonists and how their relationship evolved. I also didn’t find the series to be boring at any point, mostly because of the dialogue between Okabe, Kurisu and Dara. The main problem with it is that the basic plot in no way warrants 24 episodes of storytelling. It could have easily fit into 13 and probably would have had much better pacing as a result. After a while the central premise just wasn’t engaging to me. Secondly, I found the characters other than the 3 I’ve mentioned to be one dimensional, tropey and pointless. This was primarily a problem with Mayuri because a lot of the drama in the series ended up being centred around her and she wasn’t a believable person to me. Also I did gag a bit when they pulled out the Sarah Connor plot line.
