Sakura wars the movie

This movie is s***

There's no charecter development, a few things are made unclear, the story is bad, and there was unneeded scenes, the climax is crap too

Ghost slayers was better then this

R, suddenly wanting a TNG anime

That could be a really good kick for the franchise! Star Trek needs new blood.
I just read that Jar Jar Abrams will direct Star Wars 7... I just hope he will never direct a Grendizer, Jeeg or Mazinger movie, 2 tombal stones are already too much.

Children who chases after lost voices

I know what they was trying to do when they was making this movie, they was trying to make something like spirted away, a girl got caught up in to going to a place called agartha where the dead is supposed to reside and she's accompanied by her teacher who lost his wife years ago and is trying to get the place where the dead resides so he can bring her back.

The story's ok but there are some scenes that seemed forced and a few things seems forced too. I think if they was to give this series one more hour to give the characters and story some development. And there's little character development and there seems to be a few things * only 1 or 2 things unexplained*

But besides this it's a really a good movie and the animations nice, the story was more about the journey then the characters in ways,

I'l give it a 7.5/10

Baka and Test Season 1 (BD)

I bought this off a fellow AUKN user on a whim, and took a risk as it didnt match any of the anime I have been watching lately. A high school comedy with plenty of fan service, it took me a while to finnally give it a chance, but i'm glad I did as it was glorious. Had me laughing out loud at times. Likeable characters, god damn funny scenarios and an interesting setting to boot. Looked stunning on blu-ray, and all the shorts in the extras section were great fun.

I cannot wait for season 2.

Tatsumi-A epic piece of work directed by Singapore director Eric Khoo,a genius animated tale tracing the early life of manga god Yoshihiro Tatsumi and creator of the manga genre Gekiga(meaning, dramatic pictures),Gekiga is a style of manga that is aimed at adults and a more mature audience,The film is a harsh but uplifting journey through wartime japan as we see the young manga writer struggle from humble beginnings to meeting his idol the legendary manga god himself Osamu Tezuka and the hardship he faces from the industry who at the time looked down there noses at his new style of mature and adult manga, the film intertwines between flights of fantasy and then to harsh bleak realism. So overall the film is essential viewing for any fan of manga, anime and even for anyone interested in the roots of manga or just comics in general and one of its masters, people like Osamu Tezuka and Yoshihiro Tatsumi did not just break the mold or start a trend they are manga at its very core and there style and influence still flows onto the pages of even todays younger and upcoming artists and writers.9/10

Darkside blues

I have no idea on what I just saw. It was boring and I fell to sleep.

Something about a guy who was sent to another dimmention and then returns and....... Well there's nothing else and the film just finishes with out a conclusion.

The animations aged the storys and plots crap. The characters undeveloped

It's just crap

Towa no Quan
8/10
was quite surprised here! Didnt expect to like this show!

First of all the plot: The plot was pretty decent. Nothing new but still interesting. The pacing was also pretty good as it fit alot of stuff within 6 40 min episodes. It mixed drama, action and Sci-fi all very well.

What i like most about the show is the character designs, the animation and the fight scenes. Quan to me looked like something from an old 70s to 90s styled anime (maybe it was his hair lol). He looked slightly like Ashita No Joe. Also Genji looked very menacing and evil, which is how a villain is supposed to look!

The characters themselves were good also. Quan was a nice gentle main character and is easier to relate this way, rather than being a loud and obnoxious for instance. Most characters were likeable and was given decent amount of back story.

The animation was fantastic, As to be expected from studio Bones. the animation looked its best during the fights scenes, which are visually appealing and kick ass! The last fight scene especially was an absolute blast! One of the best fight scenes I've seen in a while!

I have a few gripes with the show though. First, they could of focussed on more of the chracters rather than Quan, Genji and the cyborg Shun. it could of expanded on them by showing more of their powers. ANother is that at times it was hard to follow. For example when showing the back story for Shun Did Shun kill his own sister or did a monster do it? Because you see the monster strangling her. I suppose he killed both by accident but i feel like it could of been explained better. These are only minor complaints

Also its interesting to know that director, Umanosuke Iida, also did the EXTREAMILY violent Devilman OVA and Original Hellsing series. At some instances some of the characters looked like something from both Devilman and Hellsing. sad about his passing. I loved the original Hellsing series.

Overall Towa no Quan is a fun action packed series which also blends Sci-fi and drama into the mix! Give it a shot!

Hajime no Ippo 10/10

I've seen this series maybe around 6/7 years ago and its great as ever. I enjoyed this so much that i saw the entire 76 episodes in 8 days. The fastest series I have ever seen. Just amazing. Now i need to see the special and the movie in the next days. I really hope they make another sequel after New Challenger. I know its supposed to be produced but its nothing official yet.

To those people who never saw Ippo, you really should. You don't need to like box (I don't like) to enjoy this one.

I watched the first episode ages ago and really liked it, but I'd find it easier to watch if there were a physical release. I'll get round to it eventually when there's a slow season and I'm caught up on Pokemon.

Blue Exorcist

7/10

I thought the first couple episodes were really quite excellent and it certianly remained interesting and entertaining after that, if not of quite the same standard. The series seemed to rush along though from the moment their grandfather showed up and I felt that the supporting cast got pushed to the side a bit when there was still plenty to explore regarding them (seriously what the hell was up with bunny-boy aka Takara?), Mephisto wasn't involved at all either which I found annoying and I wasn't buying into Satan's reasoning/attempts to make him sympathetic either. The subtitles were ridiculously tiny, I couldn't watch this series from any sort of distance, and sometimes lines of subtitles were completely non-existant. I may have been better waiting for the dub in this regard.

While I have more specific complaints than compliments I still thought it was quite good and would be worth another watch when the dub comes along.

For me the season is way to slow, i dont like most of the things that air nowadays so I just tend to go and see old stuff and i saw in my first "real" years of anime. Between 2002 and 2004. That was when i started to watch more as a fan and not as casual viewer. Though i remember watching ninja scroll on vhs ehhe *nostalgia*

I did enjoy a lot Blue Exorcist, besides one or two episodes. Its a shame it was rushed and short. Hope they can make some more and keep up with the manga and i hope too Manga uk releases the movie in the uk, though it might take a while like 1 or 2 years

FLCL 7/10

Its been around maybe 7/8 years since i saw this for the first time. Got the dvd last year and saw it today. It's still kinda crazy (never thought it could change lol) with a lot of nonsense and stupidity. I give a 7 cause for me, its full of nostalgia and i enjoy the music bringing back old school times cause the story itself it nothing special. I like the characters and I really like a lot when the kid its the narrating story.

I do like when someone its telling the story while we watch it happens like a bit in Durarara too. If someone knows more series that has someone telling the story most of the time, just let me know please.

I,ve yet to hear anyone have a bad word to say against Ippo, truly is one of the best anime series ever and as you stated you dont have to be a fan of boxing to enjoy it,the character development and raw realism keeps you captivated by every episode,i really wish it would get a license rescue, its to good a series just to lie in limbo considering most of the crap that does get released these days, also regarding boxing anime have you seen Osamu Dezaki,s classic Ashita no Joe,now there is a series that needs a domestic release.

True.

regarding Ashita, i know which series it but never saw it. Still i've got it somewhere here... xD I might give it a shot one day since its no the first time hearing good things about it. Ippo really needs a to get licensed again for sure. The manga still continues after all these years, amazing.

canaan

i can see that this series has potential it in some ways, but i cant put my finger on why it has potential.

Synesthesia used in the series is interesting how shapes are colours, words are shapes ect ect ect, yes Synesthesia is real.

this series has a few tear jerkers, a lot of action scenes

apparently this series is a sequel to a light novel, so if your going to watch this make sure you know about the light novel,

its like a lil bit of noir and black lagoon but not as bitchy

its ok for it gun fights but the Synesthesia really got me interested * like i said Synesthesia is real*

7.5/10
