Stein’s Gate 6/10
Overall I found this slightly above average. I was somewhat disappointed because when I was raving about Madoka in 2011 I was told that this was on par. I didn’t find that to be true at all. In terms of positives I liked the two protagonists and how their relationship evolved. I also didn’t find the series to be boring at any point, mostly because of the dialogue between Okabe, Kurisu and Dara. The main problem with it is that the basic plot in no way warrants 24 episodes of storytelling. It could have easily fit into 13 and probably would have had much better pacing as a result. After a while the central premise just wasn’t engaging to me. Secondly, I found the characters other than the 3 I’ve mentioned to be one dimensional, tropey and pointless. This was primarily a problem with Mayuri because a lot of the drama in the series ended up being centred around her and she wasn’t a believable person to me. Also I did gag a bit when they pulled out the Sarah Connor plot line.

Sky Crawlers - 6

It was not bad but far from being something good. Characters had no real personality imo plus they were just 2/3 action scenes, which could have been more.

I wasnt expecting anything really good because i've read some stuff before so I was prepared for a standart product and that's what i end up seeing.

6.5/10
Meh. As to be expected with Gonzo.
The characters were boring, annoying and forgettable, the animation was stiff, the characters designs were dull, the music was really freaking jarring and to top it all off the ending was so forced onto you so fast, it seemed that the creators realised that they made a poor anime and just wanted to end it ASAP.

Although i have just slagged it off, I will atleast admit that, while it isnt Gonzos best work, it isnt their worst eaither. Some episodes were watchable, like the episode showing how Meg and Jo first met, which included nice backstory and some decent action. Also The CGI was pretty impressive! The CGI fight scenes were actually well done and kept me entertained for a while. This si probably the only redeeming thing for me.

Overall, buy only if cheap. Don't buy this if its more than £10.

Now on to the OVA.....yay

After many years of watching many of Gonzos anime, i have come to a conclusion that some people might think is over the top: I'm never watching a Gonzo anime again. Why? Because everything they make is the same! Poor animation, crappy characters and Lame and tedious plots. Most of their animes are **** in general!!!!!! I will admit I LOVE Afro Samurai and Samurai 7, Black cat, Gantz, Basilisk and Hellsing are great shows! But shows like Peace Maker, Witchblade, Chrono Crusade, Solty Rei, Burst Angel. Rosario Vampire and Kiddy Grade are all just SOOOOOOOO AVERAGE!!!!!

Ill just stick with the ones i like for now on. But ill never watch another Gonzo show I've never seen!

So, of the Gonzo shows you've watched you love six, find eight average and from that you've come to the conclusion that most are **** and they're all the same?

You're welcome to do whatever you want, but your explanation for why you were doing it was contradictory. Contradicting yourself and then claiming both contradictory statements to be true makes you easily as big a troll as the God of the Abrahamic religions.

Im not trying to troll anyone. Im just not going to watch anymore Gonzo shows. As silly and stupid as it might sound, its just my decision. To each their own.

I think I see where your coming from, afterall if your finidng their output average thesedays why bother as there are plenty of other shows that are good/great available to watch.

What bugs me is the blanket never again, thats a stupid position to adopt, better to say you don't like Gonzo's output recently and will stay away from it until such time your given reason to believe they've turned things around. Afterall you never know when inspiration will strike or fresh blood will mix things up.

Shakugan no Shana The Movie

I watched the English dub up until the scene where Hirai and Yuji met at HNV, because the same problems with the Shana II dub persist - characters talking too fast in order to fill the lip flaps and unnatural sounding dialogue. Seriously, who says things like:
"I'm going to the music store to check out the latest CD releases"
"I was wondering if Ike has a steady girlfriend?"
Those. Are. Not. Lines. People. Say. Not to mention that Yukari's FUNimation voice actor is a terrible casting...sounds way too aggressive and forced.

Moving away from the dub and onto the movie itself, I didn't like how various aspects from later on in the series were shoe-horned into this movie, such as:
- Margery Daw. The biggest offender. She wasn't in the first light novel at all and I feel that her inclusion in the movie really detracted from Shana and Yuji's development, in particular, how the battle against Friagne was the first indication to Shana and Alastor of how much potential Yuji has.
- Yoshida Kazumi. I felt that her feeling for Yuji were brought up way too early (and I'm not just saying that because the second light novel is where it really kicks in). At first I thought it was merely to give Yukari Hirai a slightly heavier role in the story before she disappeared, but when it continued after that...
- Wirhelmina Carmel. Her cameos weren't very damaging, but they really felt forced into scenes; they never felt like they belonged.

As much as I hate how the TV anime mixed the plots of the first two novels together, I felt that it worked a lot better than Margery's inclusion in this film. She came to Misaki City for the sole purpose of Lamies, which this film decided to completely ignore. Also, Lamies and Friange's goals both involved torches, so that fit. Here though? It didn't.

Also, this movie didn't really...feel like a movie. Sure, you could say it's because a lot of the first half of it is a recap, but Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning had a movie feel to it.

On the plus side though, they restored some things like Friagne's dolls and
Alastor's manifestation[/url], which I really liked. Also for once in the franchise, the blu-ray didn't look absolutely dire.

I did enjoy the film, but I do feel that the inclusion of Margery Daw was really detrimental.

Time of Eve

A nice show about the integration between humans and androids. I liked the light hearted pace and how things unfold in the story. Too bad there are only 6 episodes, this story would have deserved a 13 episodes series or even a 26 episode one. The BD looks great, so I'm happy to have bought it, even if it's quite expensive.
Curiosity: AUKN's own Rui plays the role of Nagi. It was a good performance, I didn't think AIs could show feelings in that convincing way. She's good at blinking eyes too.

Score: 8 / 10

Eden of The East the Movie I: The King of Eden

I loved the series: the premises were great and the evolving of the story in the first episodes really excited me. But I thought that the last couple episodes were kind of meh, they left me a bitter feeling. Finally I decided to buy the 2 movies and just watched the first one. I was expecting quite a lot of stuff happening here, since before closing the story there were a lot of details to fix. Unfortunately this did not happen, the movie did not move forward the main story that much. I think it's a fine movie and nothing more, it needed to be much better. Now I'm going to watch the second one, I suppose it will be a total victory or a big disappointment. I'm fearing the second, if it's like this one...
Curiosity: AUKN's own Rui here plays the role of Juiz. She doesn't have much space, but it's a really convincing performance (it wasn't that difficult, playing the role of another AI).

Score: 7 / 10

Seriously? How f*****g pointless was this? It was only 20 minutes!!!! It was just a pointless prequel to episode 14 (i think) and didnt serve any real purpose! MVM were cheeky to release this seperately from the series before the boxset came out!

20 min wasted from my life I'll never get back!
