Blue Exorcist

A rather excellent show. Thoroughly enjoyed the plot and setting. A great cast of characters (the boys father is one of my favourite characters in a long while) with awesome visuals and some great music. My only issue was probably one or two episodes felt too much like filler and added nothing to the plot(the squid episode, the bday episode), but even they were pretty good. I will definitely rebuy and rewatch this on BD if released anytime in the future.

Evangelion 1.11 - You are (not) alone

9/10

Ok first of all, i dont like mechas, for me there's not appealing on it. Second, im far away from being an evangelion fan, i saw the series years ago and didnt like that much.

After bought this movie almost one year ago, I've decided to watch today and all I can say is that it was great. I did enjoy the new "clean" imagem (its a recente movie so...) and the movie was full of action, which makes kinda of sense cause its a resume from the series, with a few new scene, from what i know. The series didnt had that much action from what i remember so this is was quite a surprise for me. Tomorrow I'll see the second one and I hope it will be good as the first.

Happy lesson

This series is like a anime within a anime, you know like genshiken but the animations isn't as good as the one genshiken was watching,

The plot
A kid who was left a house by his dead parents after inheriting it, after that 5 teacher decide to be his mothers his life gets a happy lession hints the name, But iv seen this sort of story before he learns to love them as a family yeah yeah I know

Animation
It's under average like it was rushed bad it's not bad bad.

Charecters
Are cardboard stereotypes iv seen before in other animes

It's not good but not bad either it's just plan

6.5/10

Rocket girls

This show is awesome in my opinion, it's light hearted, a few giggles there, and a few awww scenes.

****SPOILERS****
It's a bout a girl who gose looking for her dad who went missing after he married her mother and wants to find and bring him back so they can be a family, she gose to a island where he was last seen *the honeymoon* she gose to the island and one thing led to another and and she gets dragged in to being a astronaut, and the people who wanted her to be a astronaut promised to help her find her dad she dose a few tests and then she has to dose survival training but ends up in a village and coincidence she finds him and he's the chief of the village, also she finds out she has a younger sister who was born and raised in the village, she try's to make him go with her but tells her if she successfully gose in to space he,ll go back with her and she agrees. And this is the point where it's gets fun.

She finds her sister a lil bit annoying at first but comes to love her 2 eps after but her sister loved her from the beginning ( I love scenes like this * the power of family love is beautiful*)

The animations is good
The story's nice
The characters * the adults are just unlikable there like children in some scenes but they improve as the show gose on * the 3 main girls are just likeable but the main main characters sister I'd my fav.

This series isn't nothing ground braking but it's just a nice series. No action no romance,

It's like stratos 4 but............ What am I saying it's almost like stratos 4 *minus the aliens*

This series is also *moe* and cute at times.

It's enjoyable and fun to watch

I'l give it a

8/10
A good way to end a short series to begin my long backlog series

Barefoot Gen 8/10

A movie with 30 years from 1983, the year i was born. Just great. Almost as great as grave of the fireflies, which i need to see again one of these days.

One really good drama with some violent scenes for a movie with 30 years.

Totally agree a fantastic movie,it does not have the production value of Grave of the Fireflies but it is just as harrowing and heartbreaking, two movies that everyone should see at least once.

C Control The Money and Soul of Possibility

Bought on BD from a fellow user of AUKN. Had no idea what to expect but I was literally hooked throughout, watched all 11 episodes across three sittings over the past few days and fell in love with the premise. Never did I think economics could ever be this interesting.

Visually stunning, a good plot and a semi-satisfying conclsuions.

I thought the same for the most part, but IMO the ending kinda sucked and it was hilarious how they build up for the final fight and then it timeskips and settles everything offscreen. It's another one of those anime which suffer from trying to cram too much into 11/12 episodes.

I liked the OP/ED themes though.
Maybe one day when I have too much money and feel like watching it again I'll re-buy it.

Musashi: The dream of the last samurai
4.5/10
First of all, I will give this movie credit for doing something different: An anime style documentary on the life of Musashi. I've never seen this done before, so its rather unique. However, its ruined by the STUPID 3D narration guy and his assistant who kept doing all sorts of goofy ****! It was so distracting that it was hard to follow! Also it kind of made me lose interest. Plus it can be pretty boring at times.

Another thing i didn't like is that it waffled on about military tactics and weaponry. I really didn't care about this at all. I just wanted to hear about Musashi.

I will admit, i loved the style on the actual animation scenes. With the red sky and grey skin colours, it definitely gave off a violent vibe to represent Musashis life. Also the sword fights were pretty well animated and were a little fun, but it didn't save it for me.

Overall Musashi: The dream of the last samurai is a very boring anime style documentary with perhaps the worst narrator I've seen. I give Production I.G. credit for trying something new, but it just doesn't work out all that great. They should of just made it into a short OVA series or something, like Samurai X Trust and Betrayal. Trust me, there are ALOT of better samurai Shows out there! Don't bother with this one.

Chaos;Head

4/10

I wasn't really paying attention to know what was completely going on at times, but in all honesty I didn't really care. This was quite sloppy in comparison to Steins;Gate and Robotic;Notes. There was nothing really likeable about Takumi, he wasn't quirky but exceptionally good natured like Kyouma, he was just downright creepy.

I think that's the point. With the main character as a delusional loner, it makes it much easier to believe that he might be involved in the murders, and all the more plausible that the police would suspect him.

It's not a great series and I don't think it bears much similarity to the other ';' properties, but I did at least respect them for trying something unusual.

Im doing this review in 2 parts because of how long this series is and how theres a lot i have to say, otherwise il forget, I'm 2 movies in and up to a 100 episodes.

Part 1

Inuyasha

Ok first off I think this series is good, it's simple to follow and the characters are good too, it has aged a lil bit but only a lil bit but it's good, the movies animation seems to get better with each movie.

Next the story/ plot

Like I said it's simple, a half demon named inuyasha was pinned to a tree by his former lover kikiyo because they both believed the betrayed each other over a sacred jewel but in actual truth they was both set up, by a demon called noraku who wants the jewel for him self. Kikyo dies after sealing inuyahsa to a tree and 500 years later kikyos reincarnation gose back 500 years from the present to the past and that's where it begins.

The story is good and I really liked it in the beginning but, it just drags on and on and on. I think this series would of been better if they just made it in to 100-80 eps because by the time I reached a 100 I got really fed up, I wouldn't of mind so much if it was for the eps that felt like fillers. I kept saying get to the point get to the point, luckily iv only got 2 movies and 67 + final act 26 = 95 ( I take that back it's not lucky it's unlucky)

I know what ya thinking * if your sick of it then stop watching it and watch something else, thing is if I stop it will nag me so I have to finish this.

That's part 1 I'l do the rest as soon as I'm done with the rest of the series

Finished rewatching Angel Beats this week. I had it at 7/10 when I watched the fansubbed version back when the series originally aired, but I think I'll have to bump it up to 8/10 following this rewatch. Hinata and Otanashi's friendship was definitely more of a highlight than I'd realised on first viewing. Their roles in the ending really made more of an impression on me this time than before. I still find the series is slightly overrated in popular opinion though.

My Neighbour Totoro
5.5/10
I borrowed this off a friend of mine just to see what the hype was, and i know this might upset alot of people, but in my personal opinion this is very overrated. Don't get me wrong its far from a bad anime, but the hype, fandom and merchindise surrounding this film is a little exaggerated.

First off, the animation was nice. everything was bright a colourful, especially the backgrounds. The tone of the film was charming and had a sweet vibe to it. I also liked the characters aswell. They were all nice and easy to relate to. I actually liked the human characters more than Totoro himself. Totoro was an ok character, and it was nice that he helped the kids out, but i thought that he didn't really have enough screen time. Plus there wasn't anything THAT special about him.

My biggest gribe with the film is the ending. It just.........Ended. I wasn't expecting it to end like that. Maybe i was supposed to, but thats just me.

Overall, A nice family film, but don't believe the hype. Its not THAT Good! Now i know alot of people on here might be angry at my oppinion, i am not slagging this movie at all, im just saying that i think it is very overrated.

My Neighbour Totoro

I'm also not that big fan of this or the other Miyazaki Ghibli films (much prefer Isao Takahata on the Ghibli front). For this film I'm going to put most of the blame on in not being relevant to me and I'm not really the target audience.

That said, I've found it was better on my recent watch(es) over the past couple of weeks when I've been looking after my toddler nephew, I've had to split the film into three pieces for him to watch it but it seems to keep him calm (and more importantly, still!) and keeps his attention.

6/10
8/10 - If looking after a child

Yawara!A Fashionable Judo Girl-Well i finally made to the end of this classic and i can say after 124 episodes it has left me with a massive smile on my face, easily one of the best anime series ever, even the word classic does not do it justice.Based on the Manga by none other than Naoki Urasawa(Monster,Master Keaton,20th Century Boys)and directed by Hiroko Tokita(Touch),Part sports anime, part slice of life and part romance this series has it all,Yawara Inokuma is a quiet normal everyday girl who just wants to enjoy her youth but from a young age she has been trained in the art of judo by her father and grandfather, both masters of the sport, her father leaves and her mother and grandfather bring her up but it is her grandfather who sees Yawara,s potential and genius and dedicates himself to training her to finally reach the Barcelona olympics,on her way there, there are many rivals and none more so than rich girl Sayaka Honami who has reached the top of everything in her life she dedicates and sacrifices all to one day beat Yawara and finally be the judo queen but there are some things money can not buy, along with a lovable cast of characters and great soundtrack makes this an all time great for me,if you like shows like,Maison Ikkoku,Touch,H2,Kimagure Orange Road you will instantly fall in love with Yawara, there are two movies which i have still to watch one being a spin off story and the other a direct sequel to the tv series which i shall be watching tonight at some point. It was always a real shame Animeigo only got to release the first box set of Yawara(eps1-40),at the time i thought i,d never get to see the rest of this classic so i was pleased that it got fansubbed at a fast pace, hopefully one day a company will rescue the licence and the series will one day be complete on dvd(Discotek i,m looking in your direction).A total classic.10/10

Squid Girl

7/10

It's simple, lovely, pun-derful comedy. It's so easy going and such a fun and easy watch, the same type of atmosphere and warm fuzzy feeling the likes of Azumanga Daioh gives you (though obviously nowhere near as good).

I have to say that perhaps the funniest moment was when Sanae sent herself as a giant shrimp to Squid Girl. It was just disturbingly hilarious.
