Fairy nuff.

It's just me I guess, but Basilisk is not a title I'd use to introduce people to anime.

il be honest i forgot about the nudity and violence in basilisk and i cringed every time a sexual part came up
i was thinking OH god whats she thinking whats she thinking whats she thinking,

she thought it was disturbing but was really really really really really good.

im going to introduce moribito to her tomorrow * this series is a yes to newbies * if memory serves

but yeah basilisk isnt for newbies but lucky my mum didn't kick up a fuss about it. she thought it was disturbing and sad but she liked the series anyways, death notes still her favourite series

by the way which series would you introduce to newbies * my mum

Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt

err.......yeah. This is perhaps the most messed up and balls to the walls anime I've ever seen! It was f****d up, But by god was it fun! This is the most original anime I've seen in a while! Great animation, fantastic comedy, Bad arse soundtrack and action that wouldnt quit! The only bad thing i have to say is that the last episode was VERY disappointing, as it wasnt as crazy as the rest of the series! and that footage after the credits on the last episode was kinda random.

Overall, probably the best anime that came out this year! If you like South Park, Ren and Stimpy or powerpuff girls (or if you like all of them like me), or if you're looking for something different, Then you MUST check this out.

P.S. This HAS to be watched in the dub as it makes the show a hell of alot funnier! This has some of the most Ridiculous dialogue I've ever heard!

heaven's lost property season 1, OVA and season 2

very funny and enjoyable to watch and the fan service is great * you dont get to see any nippals* which is a shame but its still awesome fan service,

you know eden of the east with those phones and you can ask for anything you want with them, well the Angeloid are a upgrade to those phones.

i like how they look chibi at times.

and the main story isn't bad either.
the characters are all likeable
the animations gorgeous

and the boobs are huge ........................... i want a Angeloid

the comedy is LOL funny

tomoki is a pervert with a big heart.

Air

Undoubtedly sad (as I was warned by many people), and undoubtedly a good series, however so much just feels unresolved. maybe the OVAs clear it up a bit.

the ending is a misery fest.

Arakawa Under The BridgeXBridge

More of the same, only now with added Billy, Last Samurai and Takai...KO-SAMA!

My only disappointment remains that there's still no sign of a 3rd Season, I can only hope that when more fo the manga's out they will make another show, but I'm not holding my breath.

Toradora

7/10
Why only 7? Because Minorin that's why. I found the last few episodes so hard to watch because I wanted Ryuuji & Minorin so freaking badly. The show was pretty perfect (although the last few episodes seemed a bit ..mad), the entire show made me laugh so much however I couldn't appreciate the full show for what it was because I got upset over the pairing I wanted so badly not happening ... xD .. Childish reasoning for rating? yeah ..but I can't help it haha

Not childish at all, I admonished True Tears for the same thing a while back, and I can understand your feelings on this show too. When I originally seen it I just felt so bad for Minorin. I mean, I was happy enough with Taiga/Ryuji, but damn if Minorin didn't deserve Ryuji too. Having just rewatched the show recently I think one of the single best moments in it is when Ryuji and Minorin cross the finish line hand in hand. I think the cultural festival could've really spun the series out in more interesting ways, it's totally set up for Ryuji/Minorin and Taiga/Kitamura at that point, imagine if there was actually a brief period were those two couples were together while Ryuji/Taiga continue to deny their feelings for one another before eventually working those issues out.

Re: Toradora

Minori x Ryuji was never going to happen because, as the show went to great lengths to demonstrate, they were on completely different planets. Or rather, Minori is on a different planet to everyone else. Also, there's a belief amongst some fans, myself included, that Minori was actually in love with Taiga - not Ryuji. The hints are there...

The hints are certainly there, because let's face it everything she does she does for Taiga. If Minorin did actually have feelings for Taiga and was merely trying to convince herself that she was in love with Ryuji then it actually plays nicely into the theme of the show of characters being heavily in denial.

Not as funny as I remember it, still decent in parts but I'm kinda disappointed. The OP is still gorgeous and an absolute riot though, loads of fun.

strike witches 1 and 2

i really enjoyed this series its

light-hearted
the characters are all likeable
the mixture of the animation and CGI is unbelievable * if this was on blu-ray it would just blow you away *
the ecchi is great
its funny
and its cute

the story has its cheesy clichés but is still good.

i really enjoyed it

Maria+Holic Alive

It's strange; when I watched these series' when they aired I thought 1 was the stronger of the two, but coming out the re-watches I think Alive is the better series. It's funnier, if only because the characters all have their roles established now and that it contains a lot more of Kannae, who is an absolute scene stealer with his leaps in logic and sinful thoughts.

Puella magi madoka magica

Well first I was watching a anime and then I thought I was watching monte pythons flying circus and then I thought I was watching a cartoon made by a 5 year old with crayons.

I'l say this I really didn't expect what I just watched I was going to continue watchit more tomorrow but after watching disc 1 I thought sod it, for a magical girl anime it can bePretty damn dark at times and how the story progressed was totally unexpected but kyubey I had my suspicions about him since the 3rd ep, I knew he was hiding something but I didn't know til they told us and after what I saw and heard I was shocked and amused with the series in-

Story, plot and Animation
The charecters was good to but a few of them was totally unexpected in charecter.
I can see why people like this series it's near to being an original by using old material, if that makes sense
I like the plot and how it all went down withthe time line I like how the magical moscot you see in all magical girl series turned out to be a sort of bad guy which was great but in the end it 90% turned out ok in the end-
1 madoka is forgotten to help the past and future magical girl from becoming witches and 2 I wish sayake lived and was beside the one she loved
I'm going to give this series another watch in the future
Great story
Great animation
Gets a lil sad and dark in some places

Can't wait to get the movies and I can see why the series has a lot of special editions

Things I watched in the past weeks:

From Up on Poppy Hill

Luckily it was screened in the cinema here in Italy. Visually it's really gorgeous, usual Ghibli class. The story is very nice, I would say it's the missing link between Only Yesterday and Ocean Waves. It seems this style fits much better to the young Miyazaki.

Score: 8 / 10

Michiko to Hatchin

Fun series, with a personal style and setting. I appreciated the various references to other anime, like the famous braking in Akira or the Ergo Proxy style library. It's not an all time favourite, but it's well worth a watch. Nice ending too, which is a plus.

Score: 8 / 10

Piano Forest

Got the BD on a sale, visually it's a really good movie. The story is fine and nothing more, it's well directed but it's just another rehash on a usual theme.

Score: 7 / 10

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (second season 2009)

About the E8: from the few things I read (I try to avoid spoilers, but couldn't escape this one) I thought it was totally the same episode repeated over and over, so I've been quite surprised to see each episode was re-drawn from scratch and directed with a different style. I really appreciated this idea and paid attention to try to catch all the different nuances in each repetition. Too bad I already knew what was going to happen, I'm sure I would have appreciated it much more if I didn't know anything because I like this kind of pseudo-trolling, classy stuff.
The "sigh" arc left me unimpressed: what I liked about the first series was the various styles from an episode to another, realizing a season with 2 huge arcs was not a wise choice in my opinion. Besides this, I already watched the episode 0 with season 1, so I already knew what was going to happen in this arc. Fine arc but nothing more.
Overall a decent season.

Score: 7 / 10

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya

I started watching this without expecting that much, so I've been really surprised! Great story, great animation, one of the best anime movies I've seen. My only complaint is that there is not much Haruhi.

Score: 9 / 10

Sword Art Online

From what I gather some people have been annoyed by the series, partly because of the way the story was told was supposedly out of sync with the original novels, or perhaps a lack of originality.

However, I enjoyed it. I especially liked the main characters Kirito and Asuna, as well as Yui and Leafa. and the relationships between them. I liked the individual episodes, and if dislike the order then you could always waiting until the Blu-Ray / DVD comes out and play the episodes in whichever order you like. I was keen on the animation style, the music used, and the ideas that were weaved into it the plot. OK, some sections were a bit dodgy the tentacle creatures with Asuna in the Alfheim arc for example, but other than that I enjoyed it.

Score: 9 / 10
