Angel beats

Omg this anime feels like an original like I haven't seen anything like this in ages. The animations fan-freaking-tastic and i can tell alot of work went in to the animation it's so smooth and pretty and all the main charecters are funny I had a blast.

The story it's self is ..................well like a seasaw at times its all funny and loads of fun to watch and at times it makes you choke up with saddness

I really hate sad story's and also you know how 70% of how when they don't tell you what illness they have well angel beats tells how the main guys little sister was dying of cancer and I swear I choked up at that point. it's funny moments are freaking funny it's like I'm laughing and crying at the same time which is amazing

I really hate sad or depressing anime series which this series has but it's funny moments makes it watchable over and over

It definitely one of the best series iv seen in ages and is well balanced

Lupin the Third:Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna-Astounding is one word that can be used to best describe this series along with many others as i really cant praise this series enough, when it was announced that there was to be a new Lupin tv series to say i was excited was a understatement, but also cautious i mean we are talking about one of the most loved anime/manga franchises ever, but after watching the series today i can happily say it does not disappoint, even although its a new series it takes us back to the origins of the Lupin gang and introduces each character and showcases how they first met, obviously going by the series name the show however focuses on everyones fave sex bomb Mini Fujiko and her journey to find the answers to her dark and mysterious past, unlike the previous Lupin series which are still amazing this take on the franchise is darker, deeper, raunchier and more serious alot like the original manga and you will see different sides to your fave characters especially Inspector Zenigata who is a lot more cooler and calculated than the bumbling fall guy he is shown to be in previous series and his relationship with the character Oscar shows another side to the inspector, but dont let that put you off,all the classic Lupin trademarks are here better than ever, the actual character design and animation deserve a special mention the whole style of the series oozes coolness and sex appeal and has a totally funky retro vibe but still maintaining a modern appeal, and the music is just mind blowing and is some of the best music i,ve heard in an anime series,i dont usually give any movie or series full marks but i,ll make an exception, yeah i,m a bit biased when it comes to anything Lupin but this series has truly blown my socks well and truly off.10/10

Dokkoida!?

this anime is a series where everyoneIn the series are friends and end up wanting to be together in the end after beating the real villain Its a silly but watchable anime for kidsSo I thought it's has a half naked domanatrics spanking a tide up guy that likes it. Anyways it's a annoying fun silly anime.

The animations ok
The charecters are fun
The story's bland a bit

But I kinda like it

Project blue earth SOS

This series is like war of the worlds mixed with a fictional future that people from the 50s think that what the future would look like. It also has some cheesy beams from a cheesy 60-70s sci-fi film. I said this before if I was to put the war of the worlds soundtrack on thIs series it would be perfect.

But theres a few things out of placeThe two kids in this series are doing more then what the adults are and putting there In danger it's kinda embarrassing really. Also the two boys seem like they should be in a detective anime the way they look.

So yeah it's about aliens trying to take over the world and humans are fighting back. It's good and I think war of the worlds fans would enjoy this as much as anIme fans would

The animations nice
The charecters are interesting
The story's good

WOW This could of been ALOT better! The anime included busty women dressed in skimpy leather outfits killing demons with bigs swords! Thats all the ingrediants to make a old fashioned, no brainer action-pact anime! But because of poor animation and crappy pacing, it was a complete mess with a terrible ending. Seriously, that last episode was so poory written, that it felt rushed and that the creators knew they have made a crappy anime and just wanted to end it!

Also the characters pretty muched sucked and the dub was kinda jarring! Dont get me wrong, Tony Oliver is a good voice actor (I thought he did great as Lupin the 3rd) but when he tries to do the voice of a more serious main character, it just fails!

Overall, Buy ONLY if cheap! I was lucky to find it for £6 in HMV so its not that bad of a deal.

TBH i only bought it due to the animation studio behind it made Baki the Grappler lol

Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings - Series 1

I reviewed the first volume of the manga for the first issue of MyM. In that review I said that the on the whole the dialouge was poor but the art was good. The anime is pretty much the same.

The plot doesn't really matter that much. It is the action that is designed to grab your attention. However, some of the dialouge is bit annoying - mostly whenever Date Masamune makes flippant comments in English (I watched it with subs).

Overall, it's something you can quickly dip into now and again, but you are not really missing much.

Score: 5 / 10.

Ookamikodomo no Ame to Yuki - 9/10

I'm not going to pretend that at this stage that I'm not a bit of a Hosoda fanboy, but I thought this film was beautiful. Visually that goes without saying (although it is worth saying, because it is at times dangerously easy to take it for granted), but the way the movie deals with the potentially divisive subject matter easily matches up to that.

Commercially you could see the film being a hit with the Twilight crowd if it was advertised down that avenue, but hopefully no-one will let that put them off. The way the movie deals with the werewolf side of things is upsettingly pragmatic for the majority of the time, and I can forgive its rare dalliances with convenience because the emotions it contains are so raw.

It's arguably a bit cheap to have almost everybody be an awesome, lovable character in some way, but the focus of the movie is very much on its family of character arcs rather than a larger A-plot that requires that kind of tension, and it's hard to begrudge the decision while you're sitting watching.

I think this could be a movie that people are still watching ten or twenty years from now, which I don't think I could say for Summer Wars, as much as I enjoyed that.

Saber rider and the star sheriffs

It's aged really badly and to be honest lost interest at ep 20 and it felt like some of the eps was in the wrong order but I stuck with it to the end, you know those cartoons that make random ep story's that don't link the rest of the series well in this series the last 5 are linked and there's a few others that do but the majority of them are unlinked story's which leads to nowhere.

You know in the American version of dragonball z where a person dies but they say the next diemetion, well in this series they say the vaper zone instead.

One of the main characters colt really gets on my nerves he has all the stereotype of what American was thought to of sounded like back in the 80s to other country's he really got on my nerves.

Jessie blues the most interesting character.

The animations aged terrible
the last 5 ep and the ep with Jessie blue in them are the most interesting

I'm sure this series was a hit when it went world wide but today compared to today's anime it's a mess and I don't want to pick a fight with fans of the series but it is true it is a mess.

5/10

To be fair Animefreak, no 80s cartoon would stand up to modern scrutiny. Either because it was based on sheer commercialism (Stand up Transformers and take a bow!) or because it's a product of it's time, and times change. In most cases I probably wouldn't bother giving them a score.

I love Transformers G1, but if I were to review it I would pull it apart, from it's pointless filler episodes to it's many, many animation errors, and it's season 3 & 4, though I imagine that replacing Season 4 with the japan only Headmaster series wouldn't of worked out any better for them.

I've heard alot of talk about this OVA, and seeing as it was re-released by KAZE, i thought i'd buy it and give it a go.

I thought that the moral was interesting and original for an anime and made me think. How do we think of the elderly? should we be more concerned for ourselves rather than old people? Does technolgy play too much of a part in our lives? I thought this was rather unique for an anime.

I thought that the animation was good also, especially when the robot Bed fought the other robots. The animation was also good when the Robot bed was causing destruction around the city.

I'm kinda 50/50 about the dub. A part of me thinks its pretty good for an early dub, but at the same time some of the voices got on my nerves a little, infact, one of the characters spoke a little too fast IMO lol

The reason why this does'nt get a higher score is because.........To be honest, im not entirely sure. There was just something about it i didnt like that i cant exactly describe.

One thing i was baffled about was the robotic bed itself. Why did the robot bed have the voice of the old mans wife? it wasnt explained very well

Overall, a well animated orginal OVA anime that had a rather unique moral. Give it a try!

No need to apologise :) I was trying to point out that with shows like that, giving them a score is pointless :p

Witchblade

The mother and daughter character development between masane and rihoko is, I can't think of a word to describe it but it's a Nice but sad relationship the story is focused on the masane and rihoko and how they live there lives together. And not much is said what the witch blade is or where it came from, all we go on is that man has fought secret wars to get there hands on it and nothing else which is a shame cUse I'd liked to learn more about it. The plot is something iv regularly seen the main charecter gets a power and ends up fighting other people with nearly the same power

The charecter development great
The animations good
The the story and plots ok

I'l give it a 8/10

Ummmmm his should I put this........................

BRILLIANT, BAD FREAKING ASS, AWESOME, OMG

I swear I love this series it is so bad ass,

The story has a balance of heart brake and awesome fights and great charecters and the story is great.

I saw some designs that look like they was from Eva and Kara's the CGI looks fantastic and there was some parts of the series that hit home.

The story and charecter development gets bigger and bigger and better.

The animation and CGI is fantastic
The charecters is great
The story is brilliant

9.5/10

The reason it's not a 10 is because the last ep had a few things that had me confuessed. Watch it and you,ll see why

I see what you did there, because of the bikes they ride, right? Right?!

I thought Blassreiter had a really slow start, but you're not the first person on here to say that it's really good, maybe I should go back to it.

If you want to know more about the Witchblade it maybe in your interest to look up the original comic book series from Top Cow that debuted some 17 years ago. There's a lot of its origins in that (though i think the cloneblades are anime only but can't say for certain) there's also the manga series that came out based on it but none of the material is actually related other then concept and ideas (i.e. none of it takes place in the same universe).

Fun Fact: Witchblade takes place in the same universe as the Darkness (not the hentai series, the Darkness comic and video games)
