Persona 3 FES

I imported Persona 4, so if anyone has any questions and can't find the answer on Google, fire away.

Also, there are rumors that the next Shin Megami Tensei game is goinna be on PS3, giving me another reason to buy one despite my lack of money :(

So, which one is better 3 or 4?

HOLYSHIT. This game is amazing. Just started playing it yesterday, nearly at the first full moon. Also, Kenji Tomochika looks very much likes James Wilson from House.

Where you also confused when you first heard the battle music?

Sort of, it isn't the same as the typical battle themes I'm used to. lol. But it did grow on me.

Apart from a bit of a slow start, 4. Battle system is much better now (mostly because you can control all your characters in battle now), characters seem more natural, and the music is great. The third Dungeon is one of the best I've seen in years, too.

And the fact that the Characters act like... school students than the others in P3. Apart from Junpei and Yukari, everyone else seemed like as if they were adults POSING as school children. Akihiko, Ken and Mitsuru felt abnormally mature as if they all had the experience.

consider what they have been through though and naturally that would make them mature quicker, just my oppinion though.

Well finally was able to make a good start on P4 yesterday and i think i actually prefer it at the moment. Thats not to say P3 and FES are bad, they are brilliant, its just that at the moment, the story kind of pulled me in more here, the voice acting sounds way better, and gameplay/dungeons and so on are far more in depth, even if its just an inclusion of 5 instead of 3 stat things to max(knowledge, understanding, diligence, courage, and i forget the last one). Dungeon design is nice, i like the fact that instead of being basically the same with a different recolour its completely different, even if i am only early into the game, its turning out quite nicely.

Yeah, but it did make them seem a bit... I dunno, predictable at times. You know, as if we'd seen those characters elsewhere before.Persona 4's characters acting much more like normal teenagers made them more likable IMO.

...the exception being Junpei, who is probably the most realistic character I've ever seen in a JRPG.

just finished persona 4 and got the bad ending, ******* hell talk about an easy pitfall to fall into, luckily i had a backup save so i can take the normal ending route now :D

EDIT:

just finished the game with the true ending, amazing game all the way through, roll on persona 5!

Started replaying FES.

I'm not far into FES and I already feel like I've screwed up. As well as wasting 2 days on Sunday dates that added nothing, I did double quiz games on one of the days in an attempt to get my academics up to level 3 beore the first exam. However, if I want level 3, I'm now going to have to waste 2-3 more days at least.

It's also bugging me how I don't yet have access to many types of personas. I want to do the fat guy social link but I don't think I can get a moon persona until level 15. I don't wanna social link with no persona. Right now, my options are very limited on the social link front.

On the dungeon crawling front, I was stupid enough to go into the dungeon when my entire party was tired. After a few floors, I ended up abandoning my party and running for the 24/25th floor so I'd have made some progress. I didn't know you can escape from every battle in P3, even those where you get attacked first.

i ******* hate the moon social link, his character is just the biggest dick in the entire game. You can't escape from every battle in P3 so watch out you will get caught out eventually haha.

I'm over the 60 hour mark now. I'm close to the point where I dropped P3 in the past. I can say with certainty that I prefer P3 to P4 now - better social links, a more interesting story, a better core cast, some challenging boss battles and better use of colour. The story, while almost as empty as the one in P4, drags far less, not spending 30 minutes constantly going over the same information every month.

I've already done what I wanted on the social link front - Chihiro, Yukari, Yuko are all maxed. All of them are superior to the crappy, unfulfilling girlfriend links in P4, and the jealousy system adds some difficulty that was lacking in P4 when it came to maxing out the female links. P4 would've been much better if it had a shy girl (who would CLEARLY by less shy in other areas!), a girl who wants nothing more than to have a baby and a miniskirt-chan with he hottest English voice actress ever.

Yukari made my penis harder when she said, "I'm worried the others will hear me scream..." in her rank 10 scene. I'm in love with computer graphics - I feel dirty.

Most of the FES additions to the The Journey haven't been great. The scenes involving the MC showing Elizabeth around the human world haven't really been funny. The only added scenes I've found amusing? The one where Mitsuru thought someone had broken into Stupei's room and the scene involving Yukari dressing in a maid costume, imitating Stupei's voice AND having some previously unused artwork. But, now that I've gotten a fair few rank 10's, I've discovered how awesome the previously unused weapon fusion system is - for as little as 120k, I've been able to create the ultimate sword for Junpei; a sword that deals 350 damage fire attacks (without SP) and an axe for the MC that has the power of thunder. It actually feels like I'm getting worthwhile rank 10 bonuses in this game. :D

Another thing that has pleased me about FES after playing through P4 recently is the money side. In P4 it was impossible to get a lot of money without leaving my PS2 on all night in order to do the auto-money trick. In P3 you can get 3-40,000 by simply winning a battle and picking the right card. So, even though fusions cost a lot more in P3, I'm able to buy whatever personas I want AND buy equipment. I was worried at the start when I discovered that gold shadows would very rarely drop coins in FES but it all worked out well in the end.

My goal now, on the social link front, is to max out the two (or is it three with Aigis?) remaining girlfriend links. Fucka's the worst girlfriend character ever, so dull that I imagine the MC will need viagra for the rank 10 scene. But I can't say she's that much worse than the annoying French fella or the the doctor wannabee who has Kengi's character model and mannerisms. I'd rather do all the girlfriends than bother with the other school links.

Anyway, onwards I go. Look forward to my next update when I'm nearer to the end.
