[Overseas] Anime News & Announcements

At least if MVM put it out then we'd still have hope for a Blu-Ray. Likewise, with TWGOK - seems like a lot of fans have been asking for that one.

Looks like Pony Can's overpriced release of Yuki Yuna is A Hero will have region free BRs. Still not tempted to pick it up at those prices (especially if there's a danger of import charges), but this could potentially be damaging for sales in terms of a UK licensor in the future > http://yuyuyu.us/bddvd/bddvd_01.php

I may now renew my Crunchyroll in May (as I pay annually). Crunchyroll doesn't seem to be getting the shows I am most interested in. They keep going to Funimation with their massive simulcast push these last two seasons.

I could totally see MVM picking up the rights to Outbreak Company & Pet Girl. Hopefully with a BD release ..

I could see Chunibyo going with MVM. They haven't announced Q3 yet. Have a feeling MCM in May we will see it announced.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the inevitable that it'd be a KAZE release? As it's on Animax & what not.

Oooph, hopefully not! You've got me worried now :p

Considering that Manga UK are pumping out Nisekoi, I wonder if they will release Chunibyo?

I think the bigger question is Tamako Market. I did ask about Chunibyo and Tamako Market at an industry panel, to which Jeremy (when he was still with Manga UK) replied that something is in the works - but could that have just been about Chunibyo? In fact, aside from Sentai Filmworks' DVD-only release of the series, has Tamako Market been released anywhere else?

I'd say it'd probably be likely Manga put out Chunibyo if Kaze have got it - after all, have Manga actually announced any new licenses aside from Kaze ones (ongoing Shonen series aside)?

Funimation have acquired the rights to High School DxD BorN

Thought they might. Hopefully when they release the series on Blu-ray will stay A/B like the first two season.

Did Funimation ever get the rights to the OVA's?

Not yet but there's still more being made as far as I'm aware. There were 2 for Season 1 and 1 for DxD New. I wouldn't be surprised if Funimation were waiting for a couple more before attempting to license all of them for one complete OVA collection release.

That'd be nice.

It's hard to tell what stance companies have on OVA's thesedays, Funimation grabbed the Baka & Test ones, and Sentai have suddenly decided to do TWGOK but in other areas we have nothing. Perhaps it's a matter of popularity, after all it's not worth going for OVAs of something that didn't sell well.
